  1. QUOTE (Baron @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 03:10 AM) Some of you need to start or keep drinking heavily. It would definitely help ease the pain of this choke.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 02:59 AM) It's interesting how we all want Konerko to be injured as the reason for his collapse, and not that he just had a bad final four months. True, but I think we know he's injured. Lexi with a meaningless two-out hit. Where are those hits when the bags are loaded???
  3. The Sox are allergic to winning basetball games. WTF?
  4. The dreaded fourth inning blues for our starters? Man on second no out.
  5. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 01:59 AM) I know he didn't finish really strong, but Youk has been a godsend. We were in big trouble at 3B without him It's amazing how quick his offensive skills have deteriorated in terms of batting average. I can't imagine any team paying him 8-12 million a year, but you know he's going to get that kind of money. He'd be nice to bring back at 2 years, 5.5 million per season.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 01:50 AM) Translation: Old man hangover. Can you blame him for chugging a bottle of whiskey after last night's game?
  7. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 28, 2012 -> 01:39 AM) Stop already. They could afford to go to the game and they don't live 2500 miles away. Obviously I didn't mean to blast those of us who live out of state.
  8. Our crowd is into it. Once again tonight, these are the true fans trying to get our Sox to pull their heads out. I love our loyal fans.
  9. It's probably good for the broadcast in a team slump. Stoney is working hard to keep his new color man involved. No brooding tonight, probably. Just baseball, good or bad.
  10. Where's Hawk? Throwing up because of our play of late? Nyuk nyuk. Seriously where is the Hawk?
  11. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 11:41 PM) You need a SP desperately and KW rolls the dice on Liriano. Turned out to be a terrible move. As far as free talent goes, Eric Stultz has given the Padres 93 innings, with the shape the Sox staff is in, no doubt he could have helped. Liriano stunk, but you are wrong about Reed. As far as Viciedo, 22 homers and his RBI totals are pretty good for a developing player. Not everybody can be Trout in their first season. If Viciedo doesn't improve next year, however, that will be disappointing. He definitely had an average season. It's acceptable however cause it was his first season as a regular. Had he truly been THE TANK he could have helped us win the division, no doubt about it. Like a lot of players, he won us some games, though, just not of late.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 10:57 PM) I wonder if he'll regret his decision after watching his announcement show. A Notre Dame football recruit was the lead story. This kid just didn't want to leave his foster family. I read somewhere that he wouldn't even attend the Deron Williams camp this past summer cause he was so scared of leaving home. I think his dad is in jail and mom incapable of raising him or something. Can't blame him for refusing to leave the area. And Brey is a pretty impressive guy. Not like he's playing for some hack program.
  13. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 10:27 PM) The average Sox fan has lost faith in the ability of this organization - from ownership on down - to put a consistently winning product on the field. 1 playoff win in 6, maybe 7 years now shows they are right. I disagree with that. We had a pretty good product on the field this season. What I've lost faith in is our organization to avoid doing so many weird, unexplainable things: win four-five in a row, then immediately lose 5 in a row over and over, and above all else inability to win divisional games. I think a lot of us thought we'd have a Braves-like run in us after 2005. Win the division A LOT, make the playoffs a LOT. We've had the talent to do so, but not the ability to overcome the twilight zone.
  14. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Sep 26, 2012 -> 09:47 PM) A serious question for you. Are you more pissed at the insurance company for not wanting to pay, or for the drug company charging $5000? It seems as if your first reaction is 'f*** those insurance bastards for not paying for this'. but don't they have just as much right to make money as the drug makers? I am not pointing or accusing, just wondering where you are placing the blame. Also, how big is this 'group'? 5%? 1%/ .004%? You can't save everyone, so where is the cutoff? As for this specific case, if what he says is true, that this costs MORE that what he was doing, then I don't understand the logic behind it. Also, pretty selfish of mom to quit her job knowing what the damages would be. Perhaps you should be focusing some anger on her for that situation alone. I know some people who have stayed in crappy jobs because the pay/benefits were just too good. You can't get mad at the mom for wanting to go back to school. Remember the mom and dad made several phone calls just to get the current insurance to agree to treat him at all. She obviously cares. I am mad at the fact he couldn't get insurance. No company would take him so he had to get on some lousy student plan. Reading that story don't you agree we are a country turning into savages? We won't allow an American to receive treatments that fix him. No, we purposely put him through misery. I think we have become savages. Yes the insurance companies deserve to make money, but what I'm saying is if these companies won't allow suitable treatments, maybe Obamacare is our only hope to remain a civilized society!?
  15. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 10:11 PM) Don't fold on me Greg You are the best fan I've ever come across period. But there are some other good ones who can still post positive stuff on here despite all the frustrating losses and blown opportunities the last six-eight weeks.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 04:02 PM) Free agent Some fan base is gonna be all excited adding him this winter as we were when we got him. Then reality will set in when he actually takes the mound. Guy is a 4-inning wonder.
  17. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 09:53 PM) Detroit is a better team on paper than the Chicago White Sox there is no doubt about that. Sox hung in there but did not have the experience in the dugout or in the rotation to carry it through the season. Losing to the Tigers is not as painful as losing to the Twins as the Tigers have talent where the Twins would hang in there for the Santana starts to inevitably be swept in the first round. I think it's very painful. There were so many times this season the Tigers were just begging us to go 4-7 games up. Blown opportunity after blown opportunity. The Tigers may win out against all these bad teams they are playing, but they were begging for us to put them away at several junctures. Very painful ending to the season for the White Sox and their fans.
  18. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 10:02 PM) I think its possible. They already swept Tampa, in Tampa. Floyd Pitches well against Tampa, Sale dominated Tampa, so a win today esp after a Tigers win is needed in the worst way. The sox certainly show up when they play a tough opponent so 3/4 would be HUGE. Take that momentum into the Indians series and sweep their ass...EFF 5-2 I want 6-1! go for the jugular! Man, some of you are good fans. Not me, not this year for reasons I've written enough times to make u all puke.
  19. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 10:49 PM) That is so far beyond this squad right now it's pathetic. They are gutted and bleeding. I wonder how many fans will show up tonight? 15,000? You'd think it'd be 35 and up Friday-Sunday if we are only one game out after tonight. Lose tonight and it's dead carcass time.
  20. If Jake stinks again tonight, he enters free agency on a downer. I guess his agent can always blame it on too many innings pitched during his comeback season and that he's on track to have a stellar season next year. He ought to sign with Detroit to complete that staff.
  21. QUOTE (WhiteSoxNews @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 10:33 PM) With Detroit win, the WhiteSox must pull one off tonight as well. Serious question, not counting vs. Minnesota when was the Sox's last blowout victory? Have they had one in September? Did they have any in the last 2 weeks of August?
  22. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 08:26 PM) The Royals must hate the White Sox. Take it to us, then play terrible against the Tigers. They get up for one team yearly: Chicago. They consider us a rival and the Sox don't get up for KC, although Buehrle did own them. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 08:29 PM) WOW. Royals are no help. They are soooo bad. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 09:01 PM) I might add that KC swept Detroit last time in KC, and if the division is still up for grabs in that series I look for them to give Detroit all kinds of trouble. Are you serious? I strongly disagree. If those games matter, they are all wins for Detroit.
  23. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 07:19 PM) More s***ty KC defense. Unbelievable. Oh it is believable. They are not playing the White Sox. They have a miserable baseball team and organization.
  24. When Detroit wins and if the Sox lose tonight, those stupid odds will probably be 90 percent for Detroit to win the division 10 percent for the Sox when 2 days ago it was Sox 70 percent?
  25. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 03:39 PM) Maybe I'm the only one who sees it, but this team has left everything on the field this year. They're gassed at this point. If they can win 6 or 7 in a row or whatever it is at this point and they can steal the division away from Detroit, that's fine, but I absolutely have no problem with this year. Sox are banged up, but you could definitely make an argument that they are also choking big time.
