  1. WTG TA, another groundball and another double play!
  2. Burger 7th behind Sheets 5th and Vaughn 6th! Pedro defines, Stupid is, what Stupid does!"
  3. I totally agree and if you found the right executive he could be successful regardless of the having an inept owner around. Although it would be better with a new owner. Mike Chernoff would be an outstanding choice! He checks all the boxes: 1. Young: - 42 yrs old 2. Smart: Princeton grad 3. Played baseball - Princeton - SS 4. Experience: Extensive within the Cleveland Organization. - Intern - Asst. Director of Baseball Operations - Director of Baseball Operations - Asst. General Manager - General Manager Most importantly, Chernoff has this solid experience from a winning culture that has always had a strong farm system and always one of the lowest payrolls in baseball. Thus they know how to win via scouting, drafting and developing their own players within the Cleveland farm system. The only problem is, to get a guy with Chernoff's credentials, Jerry would have to get rid of his stubbornness and ignorance. He would have to be willing to promote Chernoff to President of baseball operations with full authority and a hefty raise. Let's think back to a team that did something similar to this 8 years ago. Bingo, that would be Andrew Friedman GM to Pres from the Rays to the Dodgers.
  4. That sadly isn't happening until they eliminate this dysfunctional and inept front office and go out and hire a GM from a successful and proven org that has shown a consistency in building strong farm systems like the Dodgers and Rays.
  5. Kopech was at 102 pitches in only 4.1 innings which is really bad. It's a huge problem for Sox pitchers this year and has been for several years. Interesting MLB pitching stats: Pitches per game: Lynn 99.9 - 3rd Cease 97.7 - 6th Kopech 96.6 - 16th Giolito 95.8 - 19th Total Pitches in 2023 Cease 1465 - 3rd Lynn 1398 - 8th Kopech 1352 - 18th Giolito 1341 - 20th Pitches per inning Cease 18.47 - 3rd Lynn 18.08 - 5th Kopech 17.33 - 11th Giolito 16.49 - 24th
  6. The old TA from 2019-2022 is not the current 2023 TA. We probably know a few of the reasons his game has suffered and why he plays so poorly and unmotivated, but you're right, his trade value will be so much less now, unless we find the one team GM that feels they can get him back to the old TA.
  7. It was fun watching Mark Buehrle pitch, You're right one of the best fielders and pick-off moves of all time.
  8. That sums up why we are the worst team in baseball in plate discipline. This is such a flawed team with too many selfish players, that possess horrible baseball fundamentals, along with super low baseball IQ's. The Sox lack of plate discipline equates to the following: PIT/PA - 3.78 per AB - 30th BB - 2.45 per game - 30th OBP - .293 - 30th
  9. Another four pitching prospects besides #1 Schultz all from last year's 2022 draft, I hope can eventually be developed into a major league productive pitchers in a few years are: 1. 22 yr old RH SP Peyton Paulette, 2022 2nd Rd pick and #62 overall at Low A Kannapolis. 10 GS, 31.1 IP, 3.45 ERA, 31 K - Posses a filthy and elite curveball that averages well over 3000 RPM at 80 MPH. 2. 21 yr old RH SP Jonathon Cannon, 2022 3rd Rd pick and #101 overall at High A Winston-Salem 11 GS, 60.1 IP, 2.98 ERA, 53 K - Jonathon has 5 solid pitches with a 60 rating on both his cutter and curveball and 55 on his fastball. 3. 21 yr old LH SP Tyler Schweitzer, 2022 4th Rd pick, #161 overall at Low A Kannapolis. 10 GS, 52.1 IP, 3.78 ERA, 61 K - Has a 55 rating fastball. 4. 21 yr old RH Eric Adler, 2022 6th Rd pick at Low A Kannapolis. 10 G, 9.2 IP, 0.93 ERA, 18 K - 60 rating Fastball, 60 rating curveball and 55 rating Cutter. A smart owner and GM would be wise to make sure they had the top pitching coaches and ex-pitching greats as consultants at the Kannapolis team to ensure the proper successful development. Of course I won't hold my breath on that happening.
  10. That is absolutely disgusting and shameful! Hence why he is such a horrible owner.
  11. With all due respect, there is no current upside value to Tim Anderson. I want TA traded as badly as anyone here. However you can't sell this small period of time between 2019-22 and forget about 2023! Yes that will definitely help, but all smart teams and the Dodgers are one of them, will look at not only the stats, but also the intangible factors. Here are the 2023 stats: 1. Stat line .251/.289/.295/.584 and -0.7 WAR 2. 65.1% groundball percentage which leads MLB. 3. A complete loss of power and extra base hits! 52 singles, 9 2B, 0 3B, 0 HR 4. Below average defensive stats: (UZR) -1.7 - 16th, (DEF) 0.9 - 16th, (DWAR) 0.3 - 46th 5. Injury Prone - Between 2022 and this season, TA has only played in 129 games of a possible 233 games, which is 55% of the time. Additionally, the Dodgers have people on their staff bringing the FO executives extensive knowledge about TA's various issues before making a big trade? Factors such as: 1. Clubhouse video of his teammates' lack of support for making all-star game. 2. Frequent outbursts on the field where he has been injected from several games. 3. Constant whining about the fans and media not being more supportive of his sub-par playing. 4. His alleged multiple adultery affairs and confirmed DNA childbirths, which are heavily speculated to be a lot of Tim's inability to concentrate and have any desire to play well. Having said all that, maybe the Dodgers feel they can fix him because they do have good veteran leadership, as well as a veteran and successful manager/front office combo. I truly hope we can get a lot for Tim and it has to be now at the 2023 trade deadline. However we all know the problem here...can Rick Hahn negotiate a strong deal and not get fleeced like he typically does.
  12. He is acting like a mentally confused and unmotivated player who is leads the majors in groundball percentage at 65.1% with zero home runs.
  13. Of course that makes sense in the Sox dysfunctional front office world. Our worthless GM has no clue how to analyze the trade value of our players. Hahn thinks illogically, the best move is trading only UFA's which are Grandal, Middleton, Giolito, Andrus and Lopez. Only Gio will bring back something of decent quality, as the others will bring back very little, except Andrus of course, who will bring back nothing. If we only trade the rental players, then don't expect the 26th ranked farm system to be improved anytime soon.
  14. I am really excited for Noah Schultz. I know it's only low A Kannapolis, but the stats are impressive: 7 IP, O ER, 12 K, 1 BB, 1 Hit, 0.29 WHIP, BA .045. In watching some videos on his outings, he is definitely very lean for his 6'9" frame. I'm hoping with some more weight added and proper weight training, we could see his velocity and movement on his fastball, along with his sharpness on his slider improve even more. I just hope we don't screw him up, because our track record developing pitchers in the minors the last several years is atrocious.
  15. That would be fine by me. If Koufax or any other former great pitcher wanted to work with our Sox pitchers, I would let him wear any hat he wanted...including a Dodger hat. ?
  16. In the second Dodgers game, Tim Kurkiian was talking about a old Dodger story where they invited Sandy Koufax to Dodger stadium to work with a couple of pitchers. When I heard story, I was quite impressed with that concept. Not that we have the past great pitchers like the Dodgers to bring in, but why can't the Sox FO get Jerry to pay a consulting fee to bring some a stud Hall of Fame pitcher in to work with our valuable pitching prospects like Crochet. I imagine other good teams do this and it's not some unheard concept. It's really sad we screwed such a great pitching prospect up. Oh well, same o same o and life as a masochistic Sox fan!
  17. Actually the genius GM has starting pitching depth in the minors. Unfortunately our GM simply forgot to actually draft and develop good pitching depth in the minors. As of today, team ERA stats in the Sox farm system: Low A - Kannapolis - 4.36 ERA - 7th of 10 teams High A - Winston-Salem - 5.32 ERA - 11th of 12 teams AA Birmingham - 5.62 ERA - 8th of 8 teams AAA Charlotte - 5.92 ERA - 20th of 20 teams Really love to know how these scouts and pitching coaches in our farm system are still employed. Oh that's right I forgot...the top boss is Rick Hahn. You're right though, it doesn't matter with this team and season.
  18. There is nothing wrong with you. All of us long time die-hard fans are frustrated as ever, with the misguided direction of this team. The POS loser owner and dysfunctional front office is what took your passion and excitement away for following your favorite baseball team. Jerry is not moving the team. He lives in the Chicago suburbs and also in Arizona. I am quite certain at 87 years old, he has no desire to move to some other city. We are simply in a waiting game until Jerry moves on and the team is sold!
  19. All points dead on, plus on top of all those great qualities you mentioned, let's face it, Jake is a great team player that plays with a high level of enthusiasm and effort. This is the type of player fans love to cheer for and hope for the best results to happen for him. I pray someday after the Jerry, Kenny and Hahn era is long gone, we can find a Sox team full of more players like Jake, that actually play baseball like they did back in grade school or high school playing the game for the joy and excitement of it.
  20. No they don't. Yet Crochet had elite raw skills! It is absolutely a massive failure on this totally inept organization that failed to get Crochet to his full potential. This is what the great teams do when they draft talented players. Hence why our farm system is ranked 26th this year and was 29th last year.
