  1. Hence why Burger should be batting higher up and maybe behind Robert.
  2. The Twins not only got swept by the Rays 3-0, but that was their 5th straight loss. The Twins are now officially one game under 500 at 31-32 and lead the lead the Central division. The Central division is the only division in baseball with every single team under 500.
  3. It's just plain dumb batting Burger 7th and Moncada 5th. I would rather see Burger hit higher so he can potentially see better pitches than sitting at 7th. Moncada hasn't done s%*# on the road either. I know Burger has done bad on the road, but so has the entire team. Hence why the Sox are 11-20 on the road.
  4. Sounds like your wife is pretty smart and knows more about the White Sox playoff tradition than you think! ☺️
  5. Several weather sites in New York say the forecast for Thursday isn't getting any better! The air quality is dangerous high and if it isn't any better than today, I would think they probably would have to cancel the doubleheader tomorrow. What do you think will happen if they have to cancel the doubleheader tomorrow? We only play the Yankees one more time this season in a 3 game series in Chicago.
  6. That was funny...and yes we definitely avoided a massive debate and saved a lot of bandwidth seeing Burger was going to start. However Pedro still screwed it up by having Jake bat 7th and not higher and a joke being two spots behind Moncada. Great baseball logic Pedro. Let Moncada with his stellar 2 HR's, .377 SLG, .678 OPS bat 5th and drop Burger two spots behind to 7th, with his 12 HR's, .606 SLG, .923 OPS!
  7. I semi agree with you that in baseball that might be the case for many teams. However if you find the right front office people like the Dodgers have, then its not a crap shoot. The Dodgers have ridiculous endless money to spend, but also have a really smart front office, that apparently knows how to build a consistently high ranked farm system. They seem to win and make the playoffs way too often for it to be random. Then you have the Rays. They lost Friedman and still haven't missed a beat. The Rays do not have the endless money to spend like most rich baseball teams with the 27th highest payroll. Yet they still keep winning and building a strong farm system. Keep in mind they have done this in arguably the strongest baseball division in baseball for several years now. It's all about owners hiring successful front office executives. These executives usually have a strong blueprint in how to succeed. These winning FO people have a detailed organizational plan in every single aspect of the organization from top to bottom. This is why they take the randomness out of the equation and win so much.
  8. I'm with you on this move all day long!. It's just too bad our loser manager isn't seeing the logic of this move.
  9. He was and always is great behind the plate. He makes all the starters better. Last night was a bonus with his hitting! However even when it's not there, he should be catching more often. As we all know, pitching is so vitally important. It's even more critical when you have an anemic hitting team like the Sox team is. Hence why we need Seby behind the plate more for these Sox pitchers.
  10. New Flash to Grifol: he can play third, first and DH!
  11. Seby always has a great game behind the plate and it's always superior to Grandal and why he needs to start more. As I've stated many times, I don't care if Seby's bat is less than Grandal. Seby's defensive abilities far outweigh anything Grandal brings. The fact is, if you played Seby more, he just might produce more because playing more often improves the hitting.
  12. I don't care how good he is...he is still one of, if not the most hated player in baseball and still a loser and POS!
  13. It was an absurd decision by our "over his head" rookie manager, to not start Burger...especially after a walk-off grand slam on Sunday. What normal sane manager does that type of demotivating.
  14. Having a new owner who is a rich billionaire like Cuban is not my point. Being a rich owner doesn't mean you will be successful, but its a start. My point all along...and I will use the Dodgers ownership again. Yes they are rich. However they are also very smart. They went out and recruited the best GM in baseball in 2015 in Andrew Friedman and made him president of baseball operations for the Dodgers with not only a bigger title and responsibility, but also a hefty salary increase. Look what Friedman has done to improve the Dodgers. They not only have won a WS, but went to a second WS under him. Plus if you look at the farm system rankings since Friedman came to the Dodgers, he has made them one of the best farm systems in the league yearly. This is not by luck, because he did exactly that with the Rays. He did that with the Rays because they didn't have the money to spend on free agents and always had one of the lowest payrolls in baseball. As a result, to be competitive, Friedman had to build a strong scouting, drafting and development system in the TB organization. He did that as well as any GM in baseball. Keep in mind, if any new owner buys the Sox, it will be because they have made billions from their business operations to be able to afford owning a baseball team. It's also safe to say that most successful owners are usually successful because they understood how to build and grow their company. They commonly use "Best Practices" to get the best sales people, executives and other key personnel in their company. My point all along has been, I am hoping and assuming the new owner will do like the Dodgers did...and apply "Best Practices" to go recruit the best front office baseball executives that money can buy. To your point on Mark Cuban, regardless of how rich or smart he is, maybe he didn't go find yet the Andrew Friedman of basketball for his Mavericks.
  15. Again some of you have not been paying attention to Jake's 3B play this year. He has done a good job with only one error this year. Is he as good as Moncada? No, but he isn't as bad as some of you make him out to be. This isn't Burger from the past few years with his fielding. Plus you gain more respect from the team when you send a message. We are a bad team and realistically are not going to make the playoffs. Even if we did win this weak division, we wouldn't have a prayer to go far and probably be one and done. Having said that, it's more important to start changing the culture on this team now. Finally, the way Moncada is hitting you definitely have a offensive upgrade at third with Jake.
  16. Just live healthy and outlast the POS loser owner! Hopefully the new billionaire owner will hire from the outside and steal the top executives from the elite winning teams. I know it's been bad for awhile now, but I'm keeping my hopes up that some day with the new owner, we could actually be like the Dodgers or Rays and have both a great team and farm system at the same time. We just need Reinsdorf gone!
  17. If Grifol doesn't start Burger at 3rd tonight over Moncada, then not only will it confirm what a loser manager Grifol is, but it will also confirm how Pedro has no backbone to bench Moncada for being so lazy and uncaring in his effort. Please trade Moncada and eliminate this cancerous and underperforming player off this team. He isn't the only one...others need to go!
  18. It would be nice some day to have a team of players who just play hard, have fun and show an enthusiasm and energy on the field and in the dugout. The style of play that showed the fans and their teammates, they appreciate they are simply playing a kid's game for big money. That is why guys like Burger, Hendricks and Giolito are invaluable to the team....just for their energy, enthusiasm and effort.
  19. Grifol has been a bad manager all year and completely over his head. He has put out questionable lineups all year. Why in the hell would anyone think he could change his errors and put the best 9 hitters in the lineup tonight?
  20. He needs to be traded and he can be traded! It doesn't matter what they get back. He is a waste of a roster spot for the absurd amount of wasted money they pay him. The Sox should be willing to eat some of the remaining money and trade him for couple of prospects. Every single year there are always several hungry teams that will be desperate, in this case for a third baseman at the trade deadline wanting to go for it all. He is taking away a spot from Burger. Plus once you have Moncada gone along with a few others, you will see a huge clubhouse attitude, morale and excitement improvement on this team. He is making 17 million this year. Next year since you don't see to want to trade him, you will pay him 24 million in 2024. That would be dumb. If you don't trade him in 2024 then you will have to pay him 25 million in 2025 or use your Sox club option and buy him out for 5 million. It would be stupid to go another year at 24 million and then have to buy him out prior to 2025.
  21. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/news/chicago-white-sox-minor-league-roundup-june-4 I realize it's only low A ball, but he has potential to a be a good one. Hopefully the Sox won't screw him up and he gets to his full potential.
  22. No. He hurt his right big toe while making a catch and crashing through the bullpen wall at Dodger Stadium on Saturday.
  23. Actually indirectly, the top power hitters are paid to take walks. Of course the big money paid players are paid to hit for power. However they are also very smart players and by being more patient at the plate they draw more walks. Additionally being more patient and taking more pitches in turn, give these power hitters the good hitting counts which is why they hit for power. Look at the top ranked players in MLB for most BB's and their corresponding rank for HR's: BB Rank HR's Rank Juan Soto 56 1 10 T38 Kyle Schwarber 44 2 15 T7 Matt Olson 43 T3 17 T4 Adley Rutschman 43 T3 8 T69 Mookie Betts 36 8 15 T7 Paul Goldschmidt 35 T9 10 T38 Aaron Judge 35 T9 19 2 Max Muncy 35 T9 18 3 Yordan Alvarez 31 T16 16 6 Ronald Acuna Jr 29 T22 12 T17
