  1. I feel obligated to post a disclaimer that all participants do this at their own risk, etc., so forth. 1 drink for ending a scoreless inning with a runner stranded at 3rd
  2. Let's at least make this team watchable for something. I'll start: 1 drink for every first-pitch swing. 2 drinks for inadvertent contact between any two Sox fielders. Please contribute and provide levity to us.
  3. Under normal circumstances, 100% agree. That said, barely anyone is hitting better now, and wholly undeserving guys (Harrison, etc.) keep getting choice AB's. Treat it as a "what have you done for me lately" meritocracy to light a fire in those other guys. Make the other guys take those AB's away from guys like Mendick.
  4. What he has done is more relevant than what others have done. He has one of our "hot" bats (that is, a league-average bat... it's all relative, after all). TLR's given so many others more of a chance to fail than Mendick's gotten, baserunning gaffe not withstanding.
  5. Too bad he's not hitting in the 9 spot so Grandal has someone on base in front of him.
  6. Let's just be thankful he was able to hit the ball to the right side of the infield....
  7. Question.... Whenever I've had groin injuries, doing anything that involved a deep flexing (knee tucks) has always tweaked me, and riding a bike has always been something that I have to work up to. Generally attributable to bad form ("you're doing it wrong")? Or is this common?
  8. Good news is that there is no good option right now, so we're all equally correct.
  9. Phew.
  10. Sorry - hyperbole.
  11. I 100% agree with you logically and rationally. It's my Sox-induced neurosis that is posting these thoughts right now. Until he's gone, I will always have this fear in the back of my mind.
  12. ...or to put it another way, until Keuchel is DFA'd and released (or ends up anywhere else other than our roster), I am concerned he'll hit 160IP.
  13. I understand the unlikeliness, but the fact that he's still in the rotation tells me his leash is super long. He can give up 6 runs across 6 innings each start the rest of the way while TLR give him time to "figure things out." Is it likely? No. We've done dumber things though, and I guess I'm more scared of the depths of this organization's stupidity than of anything else.
  14. I still am worried he'll hit his option... for more reasons than before.
  15. Yes - I am aware… however, you state that steroids are used for recovery (not increasing strength, and therefore velocity) in the case of pitchers. Former gym rat myself (now just a runner because I’m lazy) I guess my questions are: 1. Would “not losing velocity” not count as an increase of sorts? 2. Wouldn’t you be able to increase velocity through all of the other forces that would be able to increase (leg / core strength, etc.)?

  17. Had to look it up myself to make sure it was an actual positive test vs. just symptoms
  18. Maybe this is our way of getting revenge on the Yankees. give their archnemesis easy wins.
  19. Seconded. The second Cease gave up run #1 we lost any chance at winning, so might as well just act like it. Time to see what Mr. Energy can bring from the mound.

  21. Dylan Ceasecury?
  22. Luckily we had an off day yesterday + Thursday + next Monday... so not like the 30 games in 20 days or whatever it felt like.
  23. Engel. Pollock in LF / Vaughn in RF.
