  1. Wouldn't be surprising... "only" about $3M, or a little less than half-a-Harrison (including buyout)
  2. Did I just read that correctly that he put in Sousa in another close game?
  3. lol RE: BMI discussion. I was considered "overweight" at 5'8" and 190 as an athlete in college with 5% bodyfat. Best shape of my life, but according to BMI, I had a weight problem.
  4. Sorry - I thought this was strictly about the ability to hire / fire your employees (namely the manager). He certainly has made poor signings and payroll allocations. Not being able to hire your own leadership staff to carry out your "vision" (note the quotes) is something I would certainly categorize as having your available resources limited.
  5. Plus if you try to gut it out, you could spin it as "doing the most with the resources you've been given." If you quit, they could brand you as someone who just gives up when you don't have the support you think you need.
  6. Half wondering if TLR is sick of this shit and is trying to do everything he can to get fired. He quits, he gives up his paycheck. He gets fired, he gets paid. That's literally the only thing that the logical part of my brain can come up with that would make any sense whatsoever.
  7. No, it wasn’t a tough call. Unfortunately with the bar set so low, you turned it into a game of limbo
  8. I would have been fine with McGuire (or anyone other than Leury) pinch hitting for Grandal there, in all honesty. It would at least show some semblance of accountability / meritocracy.
  9. https://www.mlb.com/news/white-sox-intentionally-walk-trea-turner-on-1-2-count Scott Merkin wrote about it. It's linked from the front page of MLB.com. You can hear someone in the crowd yell "TONY!!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING??" Also, the look on Mendick's face (in response to the look on Freeman's face) is priceless.
  10. Tying run on 1st with 1 out. Hoping Yaz goes back to his patient self with Hudson, who seems to have issues finding the plate.
  11. I still keep waiting for a gem like this from The Onion on TLR: https://www.theonion.com/lou-piniellas-first-big-move-as-cubs-manager-is-to-resi-1819568767
  12. Bases loaded with 1 out now in the 9th. Nice AB by Moncada.
  13. ...after Hendriks was up and running in the 'pen. Just as a reinforcement of the white flag mentality.
  14. The "via @NBCSWhitesox" citation is a nice touch.
  15. Too bad Kimbrel isn't available for the save opp (paternity leave)
  16. Bases loaded, no outs again. Down 5. Predictions?
  17. Re-posting the tweet here: Muncy is 100% right.
  18. See: my avatar. AJ's walk-off from 2005 against the Dodgers.
  19. Damn. Would have thought that Freeman would strike out with the bases loaded. He is the starting 1Bman on my fantasy team, after all.
