  1. Wonder if anything will come from this... Door, contact, way out, etc. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/07/diamondbacks-dfa-dallas-keuchel.html
  2. "Anything but Ketchup" is the other acceptable answer.
  3. Or Reinsdorf was so upset that Hahn would have the gall to fire someone that he made TLR a retaliation hire.
  4. False... NHL allows kids to play wherever they choose until they sign post-draft (3~4 years). So you'll see incoming NCAA freshmen get drafted, then play NCAA for 2~4 years before signing their entry level contracts. I don't understand why other sports can't do a "draft and follow" thing.... You'd think that MLB would be all for this, calling "dibs" on players and then letting other non-affiliated teams spend THEIR resources to do the equivalent of rookie ball development.
  5. Besides, it’s too easy to just look at results.
  6. Serious question here - is there anything in the CBA that prohibits players from taking an ownership stake in the team? Offering a deferred ownership stake in the team as part of a contract negotiation would be an interesting tactic for someone with the pedigree and marketability of Soto.
  7. Please note the only half cynical difference that the sweep would be making in this case is the manager of the year bit.
  8. Because I’ll be doing other things.
  9. So THIS must be how the board admins make money hand over fist. develop posters here, then sell them to other teams’ message forums for cash considerations.
  10. Then subtract the clubhouse dues, surcharges for leasing a short-term apartment, . . . .
  11. ...or, as a coach once told me, you can't make chicken soup out of chicken shit.
  12. ...or to have a few extra trading pieces compared to what you would have had. All it takes is a 0.1 Leury investment.
  13. OK. Was just genuinely curious as to your thoughts here (as well as the information and/or assumptions behind your thoughts) since they are so incredibly opposed to what I've seen / read / heard.
  14. Curious - entitlement on whose part? Trying to understand your stance here.
  15. Just to clarify, that's 0.707 Leurys per fWAR.
  16. Read "Bullpen Gospels" and "Out of my League" by Dirk Hayhurst. tl;dr summary: minor league living conditions are atrocious. All that aside, athletic performance and development are significantly hindered if you're living in conditions of poverty. Why not invest the extra $500K a year to put the minor leaguers in better housing and give them better food / amenities during the season? The equivalent of 1/10 of Leury's salary (0.1 Leurys - it's a new Sox currency conversion unit) could be a damn good investment for the future.
  17. I'm partial to baked empanadas from Argentina (rather than others that are typically fried).
  18. https://www.tsn.ca/MLB/video/phillips-blue-jays-fired-montoyo-because-they-dont-want-things-t~2483861 Headline kind of says it all.
  19. Puerto Rican oatmeal is underrated.

You can't talk about late '90's attendance without mentioning the '94 strike.
  21. Should we all have a group watching session of a Star Wars movie or something? Or an episode of Letterkenny?

This could get quite confusing. I like it.
