  1. Thank you for picking up what I was laying down.
  2. only 1 out on that fly ball that dropped in. No way to tell if Blackmon was going to get there. I can excuse that part. Also, not sure how he's supposed to score from 2nd on that attempted DP. The pickoff? Yikes.
  3. Luckily with Harrison playing well, that frees up Leury to become an everyday OFer. </sarc>
  4. "is a really bad fit." Translation - our management tends to ignore things like "good fit" or "team needs."
  5. ....which would make it more likely.
  6. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/07/royals-trade-rumors-whit-merrifield-best-fits.html MLBTR thinks the Sox would be a decent fit for Merrifield. He could plug in at 2B or RF. He's a RH bat, but, barring his would-have-fit-in-with-the-Sox April, he's been OK, and his salary is affordable.
  7. Wonder if anything will come from this... Door, contact, way out, etc. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2022/07/diamondbacks-dfa-dallas-keuchel.html
  8. "Anything but Ketchup" is the other acceptable answer.
  9. Or Reinsdorf was so upset that Hahn would have the gall to fire someone that he made TLR a retaliation hire.
  10. False... NHL allows kids to play wherever they choose until they sign post-draft (3~4 years). So you'll see incoming NCAA freshmen get drafted, then play NCAA for 2~4 years before signing their entry level contracts. I don't understand why other sports can't do a "draft and follow" thing.... You'd think that MLB would be all for this, calling "dibs" on players and then letting other non-affiliated teams spend THEIR resources to do the equivalent of rookie ball development.
  11. Besides, it’s too easy to just look at results.
  12. Serious question here - is there anything in the CBA that prohibits players from taking an ownership stake in the team? Offering a deferred ownership stake in the team as part of a contract negotiation would be an interesting tactic for someone with the pedigree and marketability of Soto.
  13. Please note the only half cynical difference that the sweep would be making in this case is the manager of the year bit.
  14. Because I’ll be doing other things.
  15. So THIS must be how the board admins make money hand over fist. develop posters here, then sell them to other teams’ message forums for cash considerations.
  16. Then subtract the clubhouse dues, surcharges for leasing a short-term apartment, . . . .
  17. ...or, as a coach once told me, you can't make chicken soup out of chicken shit.
  18. ...or to have a few extra trading pieces compared to what you would have had. All it takes is a 0.1 Leury investment.
  19. OK. Was just genuinely curious as to your thoughts here (as well as the information and/or assumptions behind your thoughts) since they are so incredibly opposed to what I've seen / read / heard.
  20. Curious - entitlement on whose part? Trying to understand your stance here.
  21. Just to clarify, that's 0.707 Leurys per fWAR.
