  1. Some other options, just for fun: A Golden Batter out is worth two outs. In the next inning, the other team is permitted four outs instead of three. If you use your golden batter, you start with 1 strike. Golden Batter must be immediately substituted out after that plate appearance. Use of your Golden Batter is a replacement for your first Manfred Man. So if you use your Golden Batter to tie the game in the 9th, you lose your Manfred Man for the 10th inning. Use of your Golden Batter is only allowed if you have not previously used your replay challenge. Use of the Golden Batter requires that the Golden Batter's team's broadcast must be replaced by John Schriffen for the remainder of that half-inning, and the two additional half-innings. The Golden Batter must be selected by a committee of recent Sox Math winners. Also, all teams must have an equivalent contest to Sox Math. Use of the Golden Batter negates any fielder positioning requirements, so extreme shifting is once again permitted for that plate appearance. The next time the Golden Batter's turn in the order comes up, the opposing team may choose the batter for them.
  2. To this point, what Getz is doing (asking for the moon as a return) I would think makes sense. Hold onto him if you can't get the return you think you can get at the deadline, but if someone's willing to meet the price now, go for it.
  3. I think it's more of a matter of actually getting coaching on what to anticipate in various situations against certain pitchers. From the articles that have come out, it seems like they've basically just told guys "swing at strikes and don't swing at not-strikes." There was limited emphasis on applying analytics and coming up with cohesive strategies for specific pitchers in specific scenarios / situations.
  4. Don't ask questions for which you don't want answers.
  5. On some level, it would make sense. Trading for a bounceback candidate who plays a position (pitcher) where the Sox seem to at least not suck at coaching / developing. That said, Beni's 2nd half to me makes him more valuable than Walker.
  6. Or 3: trade him + cash considerations for a prospect. I know Jerry would be giving up his favorite player (Cash Considerations)....
  7. Thanks. was hoping for some more entertaining responses, but this works.
  8. Sorry. What’s “incel?” I feel like it’s something I am expected to know, but I feel like asking the question here would be more entertaining than Googling it.
  9. That would be a positive thing. Could be all it takes to go from 121 losses to 121 wins in one season.
  10. The elation from the Slater signing knows no bounds.
  11. If you really think about it, you could interpret that sentence as "all of our OFs are RH."
  12. If I am to understand @ptatc's post, is it fair to say that your concern now is Crochet's not having gone through an offseason recovery after a 150-inning season, and therefore there may be a further risk of injury for 2025? Or am I misreading / misinterpreting?
  13. Seems like a “wouldn’t be a bad signing if not a Major League contract before Thanksgiving” signing. Like, this seems like an overly-assertive move, compared to what it is / could be. Seems like a guy worth taking a flyer on for sure.
  14. Wasn't it literally like once each decade we had a top-5 (or top-7) payroll? 3rd largest market in the league, and we have a top-5 payroll once every 10 years or so? You become terrible by not developing the prospects you get in return. Letting players walk (Rodon) is bad, but good teams turn prospects into good players. We do a terrible job at developing prospects. Therefore, we are a bad team.
  15. We missed out on a good "Nicky Henderson" opportunity there, no?
  16. What Fenway food item is that twitter associated with?
