Mlb.com poll has Sox with 4th best farm
As admin, why are you advocating shutting down Soxtalk?

Would we be
Yeah, the single worst season in all of modern major league history will tend to do that….

Way too early wins poll
That clarification is sadly necessary, and it is really a sad state of affairs to have to seriously contemplate if we're going to lose 100, or 110+.

Colson Montgomery - How long until he proves he is a MLB shortstop?
The Sox need to treat the minors like a factory instead of a warehouse. The players come out of the factory when they’re ready - not when someone puts in a 2-day delivery order.

Soroka to Nationals. 1 year/9 Million
My cat is left-handed. She can kind of play fetch, too, so she can even shag one fly ball per day in the outfield on occasion. Works about as hard as (pick your favorite “Rebuild 1.0” whipping boy).

Schriffen does it again...
My issues with Schriff are: 1. When he isn’t invisible. He actually does a good job when he’s just… doing the job. He has a good voice and a nice delivery when he actually settles down and lets the game flow through him. The “we aren’t gonna take that” kind of stuff where he’s trying to create action or a back story where there isn’t (or shouldn’t be) one is cringy. 2. He doesn’t do all of the homework that Benetti did. Like it or not, Benetti (his immediate predecessor) was generally well-liked, well-respected, and is known throughout the industry as one of the best-prepared announcers. To make gaffes like mispronouncing the immediate previous ownership’s name or a hall-of-fame player in the sport you’re currently calling is just embarrassing, especially when contrasted with how Benetti prepared and handled things.

Nashville Mayor...
Pretty impressive to have JR be pre-emptively denied by a second government.

Roki Sasaki Free Agency - Dodgers vs Blue Jays for Roki's heart
I mean, as someone making a full-season league minimum salary, he’ll probably be in the top half of the Sox payroll next year.

If it leads to more fun-filled trade threads involving Orioles fans, I'm all for it.

Juan Soto to Mets. 15 years/765m
Could Soto literally out-earn the entire Sox payroll this year?

Juan Soto to Mets. 15 years/765m
Remember when we had a seat at the table? I’m glad I don’t have to worry about that anymore.

Potential Crochet Trade discussion Thread
Fun fact... if anyone plays Immaculate Grid, Dylan Cease is a nice obscure answer for any Sox player who has hit .300 or more in a season.

Can't Cease hit for himself under the new Ohtani rules? Instant offensive upgrade over probably half of our existing lineup.

Kopech: Dodger trade was a blessing
Not a good look, but meh. Points for honesty? He's now proven himself to be a valuable bullpen arm on a world series contending team.

I was told by a stadium-related food item that it's happening, so I believe it's happening until convinced otherwise.

- Manfred: mlb considering “Golden at bat” rule
Instead of a “golden batter,” I’d prefer to see the offensive team be able to choose the pitcher they want to face for one plate appearance each game.- Potential Crochet Trade discussion Thread
This feels like a question for Tony LaRussa.- 2024-25 Offseason Plan Thread
1. Sell the team 2. Hire a GM.- Juan Soto to Mets. 15 years/765m
Well, 700 million with incentives. $75M guaranteed.- Manfred: mlb considering “Golden at bat” rule
Is it too late for a Moises Alou joke?- Manfred: mlb considering “Golden at bat” rule
Some other options, just for fun: A Golden Batter out is worth two outs. In the next inning, the other team is permitted four outs instead of three. If you use your golden batter, you start with 1 strike. Golden Batter must be immediately substituted out after that plate appearance. Use of your Golden Batter is a replacement for your first Manfred Man. So if you use your Golden Batter to tie the game in the 9th, you lose your Manfred Man for the 10th inning. Use of your Golden Batter is only allowed if you have not previously used your replay challenge. Use of the Golden Batter requires that the Golden Batter's team's broadcast must be replaced by John Schriffen for the remainder of that half-inning, and the two additional half-innings. The Golden Batter must be selected by a committee of recent Sox Math winners. Also, all teams must have an equivalent contest to Sox Math. Use of the Golden Batter negates any fielder positioning requirements, so extreme shifting is once again permitted for that plate appearance. The next time the Golden Batter's turn in the order comes up, the opposing team may choose the batter for them.- White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
To this point, what Getz is doing (asking for the moon as a return) I would think makes sense. Hold onto him if you can't get the return you think you can get at the deadline, but if someone's willing to meet the price now, go for it.- White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
I think it's more of a matter of actually getting coaching on what to anticipate in various situations against certain pitchers. From the articles that have come out, it seems like they've basically just told guys "swing at strikes and don't swing at not-strikes." There was limited emphasis on applying analytics and coming up with cohesive strategies for specific pitchers in specific scenarios / situations.- White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Don't ask questions for which you don't want answers. - Manfred: mlb considering “Golden at bat” rule
