  1. Click on the rows for those seasons in B-R.com
  2. Yeah, my parents never let me call those. I do remember the phone numbers you’d call to get the weather forecast though.
  3. I do not miss the days of looking for box scores in the paper and seeing “late game not included.”
  4. Seems like you’ve invented collusion.
  5. As admin, why are you advocating shutting down Soxtalk?

    Would we be

Yeah, the single worst season in all of modern major league history will tend to do that….
  7. That clarification is sadly necessary, and it is really a sad state of affairs to have to seriously contemplate if we're going to lose 100, or 110+.
  8. The Sox need to treat the minors like a factory instead of a warehouse. The players come out of the factory when they’re ready - not when someone puts in a 2-day delivery order.
  9. My cat is left-handed. She can kind of play fetch, too, so she can even shag one fly ball per day in the outfield on occasion. Works about as hard as (pick your favorite “Rebuild 1.0” whipping boy).
  10. My issues with Schriff are: 1. When he isn’t invisible. He actually does a good job when he’s just… doing the job. He has a good voice and a nice delivery when he actually settles down and lets the game flow through him. The “we aren’t gonna take that” kind of stuff where he’s trying to create action or a back story where there isn’t (or shouldn’t be) one is cringy. 2. He doesn’t do all of the homework that Benetti did. Like it or not, Benetti (his immediate predecessor) was generally well-liked, well-respected, and is known throughout the industry as one of the best-prepared announcers. To make gaffes like mispronouncing the immediate previous ownership’s name or a hall-of-fame player in the sport you’re currently calling is just embarrassing, especially when contrasted with how Benetti prepared and handled things.
  11. Pretty impressive to have JR be pre-emptively denied by a second government.
  12. I mean, as someone making a full-season league minimum salary, he’ll probably be in the top half of the Sox payroll next year.
  13. If it leads to more fun-filled trade threads involving Orioles fans, I'm all for it.
  14. Could Soto literally out-earn the entire Sox payroll this year?
  15. Remember when we had a seat at the table? I’m glad I don’t have to worry about that anymore.
  16. Fun fact... if anyone plays Immaculate Grid, Dylan Cease is a nice obscure answer for any Sox player who has hit .300 or more in a season.
  17. Can't Cease hit for himself under the new Ohtani rules? Instant offensive upgrade over probably half of our existing lineup.
  18. Not a good look, but meh. Points for honesty? He's now proven himself to be a valuable bullpen arm on a world series contending team.
  19. I was told by a stadium-related food item that it's happening, so I believe it's happening until convinced otherwise.
  20. Instead of a “golden batter,” I’d prefer to see the offensive team be able to choose the pitcher they want to face for one plate appearance each game.
  21. Well, 700 million with incentives. $75M guaranteed.
