"Early" pitching changes are allowed, but the other team gets to decide who pitches. After your second early change, your first baseman becomes the pitcher, and he must be DHed for.

I think it should be tied to other rules. The first time you put in a reliever before 6IP in a game, you lose your replay vchallenge. The second time you put in a reliever before 6IP in the same game, you lose your DH. (barring injury)

The coaches on the pitching side seem to be competent, by all accounts. Supporting evidence: once Kopech started listening to the coaches (by his own admission), he started pitching better.

Maybe accountability to show that you need to actually try to succeed in order to stay in the lineup?

I think at the time of the trade, many people said the return for him (well, him + Fedde) was underwhelming, especially once you look at what Banks fetched.

The one thing I'm starting to give credit to Getz for is to hire competent people and putting together a competent support staff. It seems like the Bannister hiring is rock solid, and keeping Katz at least seems to be a "not suck" move. I'll be very interested to see a) if he actually has the autonomy to fill out the staff in his own vision; and b) how he does at that. i think his roster management has sucked, his team construction has been atrocious, and his trade record has been a disaster, but I've been happy so far with his staff hirings.

Everyone has always seen the potential, and a lot of people claimed that he'd thrive in the right environment with the right mindset. So I wouldn't say it's 20/20 hindsight.
