Thank goodness we didn't have to waste a year, though, am I right?

Was really hoping for an "on the roster for the 2005 White Sox" reference. Really cool though.
-
I'm sure you'd more than make up for their airfare.

...or sometimes we need to acknowledge that what's going to work on Montgomery, Robert, Frank Thomas, or whomever else isn't necessarily going to work on Andrew Vaughn, Luis Robert, etc. This gets back to a discussion that @Look at Ray Ray Run and I had about a cohesive drafting / talent acquisition / talent development philosophy and pipeline. If you're acquiring an unfinished player, you better damn well know how to develop that player. Hell, even Frank Thomas needed special coaching (Hriniak) to unlock his full potential. Sure, there's some blame on the players (maybe Vaughn really did need the kick in the pants that the Sox were giving up on him), but it's also on the organization to maximize their assets in any way they can.
-
Maybe it's not the talent of the players, but the ability of the development and coaching staff to maximize that talent.

To each their own.

Jonathan Cannon optioned to AAA, Wikelman González promoted

I feel like this is an “Office Space” moment. -
Nobody disagrees with that. The issue is that he tries to generate excitement that isn’t there. It just feels so unnatural. An announcer should match and deliver the on-field product, not get in its way. When Schriff goes over the top, it feels manufactured and unnatural in a distracting way.

I really like @77 Hitmen's view, and I eco his sentiments - there's no one thing that makes the park bad, but it's the absence of a gazillion small things that makes the park "bleh" compared to so many others around the league. -

My biggest complaint with Comerica is how shallow the lower bowl is. As soon as one person stands up, the entire f'ing bowl needs to stand up. It's really annoying. The fact that it's one of the centerpieces of a revitalized downtown entertainment district is a big source of pride - not just for the pictures, but also for the city itself. -
You missed the part of the Soxtalk manual where you have to double down and then cash in when he hits a small slump

Wonder if Fuller is working with him.

I don't follow betting odds that closely, but before the season started, I didn't think that Vegas considered the possibility of the Sox needing a closer.

I'm actually not entirely doom-and-gloom about the future of this team (2~3 years from now), based on this core. Not nearly the hopes that I had going into 2019~2020, but definitely a "get a couple of these guys to click, a reclamation project to work out, and we're in the thick of it" situation. Let's not mortgage what decent future we have by "going for" 63 wins.

Did we send over more cash considerations??

Yankees have discussed Austin Slater per Buster Olney

Supposedly officially happening: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/07/white-sox-trade-austin-slater-yankees.html -
Baldwin up, Shane Smith IL, Wikelman Up, WillRob down

No. Maybe @ptatc has a different opinion, but if you’re forcing guys to pitch through fatigue, you’re asking for mechanical breakdowns and inefficiencies, and you start to ramp up your risk of injury due to poor mechanics and weakened support structures. -
Back on topic now. Would burning a hot dog actually produce white smoke? Like, fully incinerating one.
-
And we have the one owner whose track record would even dispute that "except Michael Jordan" part, if it were happening in the 2020's.
-
Finally, a good return on a trade.

Facts.

Would be great to have team ownership stock options as a form of athlete compensation.

I don’t remember Harold Baines doing anything like Teel did for his first homer. What a selfish prick. </sarc>
