  1. Yeah it’s not like we’re proposing anything outlandish like reversing the flow of a river.
  2. Someone should make sure Mansueto reads this thread before moving forward.
  3. Yes. I think the team played sub-.500 ball, actually.
  4. I agree about the game, but one thing to keep in mind is that the Sox had a .586 record in September (17-12). Cleveland was just obliterating everyone with a .704 record (19-8) in both August and September.
  5. I’ve started writing something like this several times, but deleted it based on my words’ injustice to my thoughts. Thank you for the lucid, logical, and rational post that represents exactly my thoughts and sentiments.
  6. These two sentences seem to contradict each other.
  7. Careful. Being considerate, apologetic, and self-aware? Yikes.
  8. I also trust them to screw up their hitting prospects. I think that's always been their second best area.
  9. I think it's more of a "is he fixed?" thing. If he isn't already fixed, there's no point to this.
  10. Apparently this is not the one with the Syndergaard bit at the end….
  11. I still think about this video whenever I see Syndergaard’s name: https://x.com/jquadddddd/status/1218021838443438081
  12. Just because it's fun, I'm going to choose to believe TLR, in his capacity as a senior advisor or whatever, told him not to run hard.
  13. They fired him one year too soon. They needed a father figure for one more year.
  14. As they say, there aren't enough diapers in the world to make me do that.
  15. Or worse, be forced to trade ownership with the Sox.
  16. This story, if nothing else, gives credence to Getz's hiring of a Culture director or whatever that position is. The team clearly had a discipline issue - sure, having a manager who is severely underqualified and overmatched by his players is obviously bad, but you also need to develop a culture of accountability and professionalism as players.
  17. Also strongly correlated: pitching staffs that give up a lot of hard contact
  18. They wouldn’t even take FREDDY Wilson. (SUPER obscure Arrested Development joke here…..)
  19. Logically speaking, only one team would be (theoretically) interested in Sox cast-offs as an “improvement.”
  20. JoeC

Ishbia may still spend on better players, but he won't be allowed to until at least 2029. Until 2029, this is Jerry's ship.
  21. I'd take Vaughn and cash considerations.
  22. Not gonna lie - my first reaction here was "...but didn't we JUST call him up??"
  23. So you’re saying we could be looking at the Hammond White Sox?
