  1. If Moncada would've peeled away to avoid a collision, this board would be giving him flack for being lazy.
  2. That was a wonderful documentary. some of my earliest memories are in that old park, probably from during the ‘86 or ‘87 seasons. I still have this memory of being scared at the fireworks, and I couldn’t have been more than 2 or 3.
  3. Guess-the-MRI game. Review MRI’s of soft tissue injuries from 2021-2022 Sox teams. Match the MRI to the player to receive a free voucher to the Emergency Room X-Ray machine at Rush, the official hospital of the Chicago White Sox.
  4. First 10,000 fans receive a White Sox laser pointer. Luxury Tax night - any cumulative food / drink tabs over $233 over the course of the evening get charged an additional surcharge on their bills. Bat Flip contest in the new Bud Light club (or whatever the f*** that thing is on the 500 level)
  5. I know it's probably been answered somewhere above, but if MLB takes over distribution responsibilities for these affected teams... that still doesn't fix the fact that they're not getting the $40~$60MM from these RSN's, right?
  6. Only if we pick up Fry to be the closer.
  7. Can't have another guy blocking Burger at 2B. </sarc>
  8. ...I would half-jokingly suggest that JR told Hahn not to offer the QO, as that would have put more pressure to spend money on draft picks with the extra 1st-rounder....
  9. Article on Kopech and his newfound comfort in his changeup thanks to offseason work. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/news/michael-kopech-increases-changeup-use Also of note is a glimpse into some of Katz's thinking with regards to what goes into arsenal development and game planning.
  10. Because we're baseball, and we love the "human element." Meaning, "we need to be able to b**** about something."
  11. Would have been great if they had pitchtrax for that so they could use robot umps.
  12. To me Buehrle is in the "Hall of Very Good." He was consistent, durable, and dependable, but never stood out. The Hall, like it or not, is filled with players who had similar careers to Buehrle, with a stretch or two of dominance built in there. MB was always one of the better pitchers in the game, but rarely was he in the conversation among the best in the league for a given season.
  13. They have talent - just a matter of actually performing.
  14. <sarc>Well, now he has some real competition for that 2B spot in Elvis.</sarc>
  15. Pretty sure this is a modified version of the "everyone has to earn their spot" speech that team staff roll out every Spring Training.
  16. Shouldn't have to be a big deal, but good on him for coming out. I'm sure he'll face a lot of s%*# for this in the future - here's to hoping it goes well so it makes it easiers for others in the future.
  17. Oh, I agree with your thoughts, but after 2022, my perceived likelihood of the above is really low.
  18. Compared to last year there is reason to be optimistic. But to me, MAYBE getting back to where the team should have been 12 months ago is not a reason for optimism. I'll cheer loud and proud here in Detroit, but I'm by no means optimistic.
  19. ...which is smaller than at least 3 contracts handed out by the Twins, who were ironically a candidate for contraction within most of our lifetimes.
  20. The fact that it’s been 18 years since we’ve been the “better team” and have had the “better team” once in over 100 years is embarrassing to me.
