  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 09:50 AM) That might be their angle.. but not the angle of any self-respecting White Sox fan. Exactly, enough with the bulls*** curse stuff. Sox fans NEVER made excuses for losing, like the Red Sawx and Cubbies. We took it like men and women and just kept supporting our team, unlike other teams who bring goats to the park and stupid ass Babe Ruth artifacts. Joe Buck and Chris Berman can both kiss my ass because they know nothing about our team so they have to resort to a stupid curse to have something to talk about on the air.
  2. Trading Crede would be the worst move ever. If that happened, expect me to rip KW's ass at Soxfest despite the World Championship. Hell I would go crazy if we traded Crede. This better not even come up in discussion.
  3. Discuss and vote. All credit should go to myself, heads and greasy on this.
  4. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 10:48 PM) Weird. I know, my sources say otherwise.
  5. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) Their clothes are too small. I think they only make clothes for little kids for some reason. wonder if one of the chapter leaders can get you a discount
  6. QUOTE(poorme @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) is he eligible for rule 5? As I understand it, yes. Here are the "rules" for the Rule 5 from Baseball America (this article is old so the thing about the Twins having first pick is wrong):
  7. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 12:10 AM) LOL, who would of thought Alex would have been complimenting me. Afterall...all I have to tell a lady is that I own Soxtalk. If I say those magic words to a girl, its guaranteed play QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 12:21 AM) If we're talking about a nerdy girl, then umm yes. Otherwise no. How do you think we got Steff? Jason told her he owned Soxtalk and I said I was an admin and bam, we were invited up to visit her.
  8. QUOTE(matche22 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 03:11 PM) Congrats Ozzie!!! Way to Go! Do I know you? Anyhow, welcome aboard!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Congrats Ozzie, you deserve it. Now put in Marte in any more clutch situations and I'm still gonna boooooooooooo.
  10. If he is going to test free agency, why would we offer him a huge deal right now and drive the price up even more. In negotiations you never throw your best offer out there, you throw out an offer and see what they come back with. I suppose someone else is going to offer a better deal, but its good the Sox didn't throw 60 million out there right away and chance some team throwing out upwards of 65-70 million. At that point we'd be screwed. Smart move by KW if you ask me.
  11. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) Your right on that. That said, I never ever ever root against anyone in the system (But you know that). I just always thought he was over-rated. We'll see on Gio and Haigwood. I really like Haig though. He just knows how to pitch and I love his off-speed stuff. I think both are really good, my only question about Gio is his durability. If he's healthy I think he has a shot to be a #2 pitcher (at best). I think Haigwood probably has a little less upside (but for some reason I really like him turning into a really good pitcher). Well your prediction has been better than mine so far as I liked Honel as a #2 or #3 at the big league level. I think you are right on Haigwood although I've never seen him, that's what I've heard a lot of people say. I guess he would project to be a bottom of the rotation type guy. As far as Gio goes, he has far greater potential, which if he reaches it, could turn out to be a very, very good ML pitcher. He can't keep getting nagging injuries though.
  12. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 12:27 AM) Kris Honel actually lives in my neighborhood. I saw him on Saturday and he is doing really good. He said he feels great, and can't wait to start fresh this season. He made no mention to the thought of getting picked up in the rule 5 draft. I really think he will boucne back strong this year... hopefully its in the White Sox organization. Do us all a favor, go play catch with him and give us a report on his velocity. Thanks for the info, BTW.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 12:23 AM) I hope he stays in the organization this year. He made some really positive strides at the end of last season and really seemed to be getting his stuff and more importantly his confidence back. This will be THE key year in his development. He pitches like he did a few years back and he's back on the map, if he doesn't, he'll probably be in another organization by years end (if not sooner). Don't lie, you never really liked Honel as a prospect. BTW, I'm still taking Gio over Haigwood.
  14. Had Francouer played the entire year in the majors, he would have won it quite easily. Full season his numbers project to around .300, 30 HR and 105 RBI or so. IMO he'll be a much better player than Ryan Howard.
  15. No longer a prospect in my view until he shows some of the stuff he showed during his first season or so of pro ball. Even at that, it'll be hard for him to get a shot with the Sox because there are a ton of pitchers ahead of him on the depth chart at this point. He is a longshot if you ask me but stranger things have and will happen.
  16. Still gotta stick with XM over Sirius. I still think XM will eventually own Sirius, whether or not its this year or in the next couple of years remains to be seen.
  17. Too bad there's no, "It's a Goner" ringtone. That would be a must have.
  18. Another reason, as mentioned above, I don't buy music? Now you can't even put the stuff on your ipod without finding a loophole to do it? http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05306/599080.stm
  19. Any updates today on chicago radio on PK?
  20. Eagles season is officially over. They have an injured QB, no receivers worth a s*** and no running game. This is comical. I honestly do not blame TO for all of this, as the Eagles are one of the most thrifty franchises in the game and other players like Trotter and Westbrook feel the same and have said similar things to TO in regards to the money situation. As far as McNabb goes, he hasn't been very good this year and TO has been great. No argument there from me. More or less, he was suspended because Andy Reid and some of the Eagles players cannot stand the fact that he is in fact bigger than the team at times. The Eagles should have dealt him prior to the season. Now after this latest episode his value continues to fall. I fully expect an interview with Rosenhaus to be the lead story on Sportscenter tonight. Yippee. Also, seems some Eagle fans are pissed. http://www.igglephans.com
  21. As far as Danks goes, what effort, if any, did the Sox take at signing him? We all basically knew it was a pipedream to begin with.
  22. Congrats Mike.... Glad everything turned out as well as it could. Thanks for sharing everything with the Soxtalk world. Now, if we could only get her registered to start posting.... P.S. Don't tell Madison I was cheering for a boy... See page 2 of this thread.
