Take this for what it's worth, just found it interesting, it's from a pretty reliable fantasy baseball site that I frequent:
-
There's a long way to go before the All-star game and at this point, I would call Randy Johnson more deserving of getting the start (perfect game, better ERA). Only thing he's really lacking in is wins (5) and that is because his team isn't very good.
-
Changeup thrown to Phelps in Toronto and disaster last weekend warrants at least B consideration here. Besides that, I agree with your assessments for the most part. To me that is the one that should definitely be changed. No way Cotts has given us an A performance up to this point.

No ill will Brando, as you were my friend...
-
If they want to bring someone else up, Kelly will be going back to Charlotte

Thoughts on the Minnesota series as a whole.

Magglio.....is well...gone after the season. Enjoy the show while it lasts. -
Plus, why are we starting a "Beltran" thread on the middle of the PHT board right after we thumped the Twins 3 out of 4...We aren't getting him and I am tired of hearing speculation that "it would be great if we got Beltran, please please KW try to get him." First off, KW isn't getting anything right now. If he pulls off a trade, it will be to fill the 5th spot and none of these names who are floating around this board with no basis for truth (ala Schmidt). Second off, Scott Bor-ass would never let Beltran come to the Sox, end of discussion.
-
He is not in the same class as Torii Hunter...In fact, it's not even close...Spiderman dwarfs the fielding abilities of Beltran, Andruw Jones is better than him in CF as well.

If you want a good site for Lohan pics, here goes: http://www.hottie.co.uk/celebs/lohan/index.html And I could care less if she is 17 or 18, she is amazing, quite possibly the best thing going out there right now in terms of being "doable"...
-
He is not worth more than 12 million a season. Any team that gives him more than that will regret it. In fact, I would be inclined to say, despite the age difference, I'd rather have Mags Ordonez than Beltran.
-
Trading Borchard now would be not only be the wrong thing to do, it would be completely stupid. Biggest signing bonus in team history, never more than a 15 game stint in the bigs, finally healthy this year and still ONLY 25...We are not talking about a 28 year old has-been here, we are talking about a guy who has all of the potential in the world and has more power than ANYONE in our minor league system. Apparently Brando is one of the few that "gets" this...And as he's said plenty of times and is exactly right, he has little or no value at this time, so why deal him for peanuts?
-
I agree, our park is a big time hitters park and there are only a handful of pitchers in baseball that could sport a era under 3.00 there for a full season.
-
Start Cotts again on the same plan as last time... Let him throw Monday in a "simulated" game and stretch him out a bit and have him ready to throw 60 or so pitches on Saturday.
-
I like the close race in the NL central, hopefully it will help squeeze the Cubs out of the playoffs. BTW, Kerry Wood threw today and had to stop early because of pain...And he's not hurt, riiiiiggggghhhhhttttt. Cubs lie to their fans once again.
-
Near 7 million this year, I believe.

It is a regular game, it's May, nothing is being decided right now. Get over it. We are beginning to sound like a bunch of whiners complaining about lack of coverage. Who cares if we are covered on ESPN or any other news outlet. Hell, if there wasn't another article written about the Sox or another TV highlight I'd be perfectly content reading this board, talking with you guys about the Sox, watching and attending the games.
-
I saw the clip of the highlights, they were plentiful on BBTN and since not a lot of people really care about the Central Division race besides fans in Chicago and some in Minny, I understand that it's not overly publicized on ESPN period. A lot of other teams have bigger fan bases and that is something you just have to deal with it. They could have said more about the series and the race, but if this continues to be a close race, I am sure it will get more publicity. Don't let it bother you though.

I don't have a problem with this suggestion, in fact I agree with it because Reed would be playing nearly regularly (leftys don't pitch against us a whole lot). So Brando, since this is your suggestion, who would we get rid of to make room for Reed? I am suggesting Timo, put him on waivers, hope he is claimed and if not, he can go to Charlotte. That way you save Rowand to face leftys, since he's been absolutely lethal against them. And then this would also create a situation in the infield, 3 guys for 2 spots, play Manos regularly at SS, Uribe/Harris platoon at 2B...And if Crede doesn't hit, you give Uribe the start at 3B from time to time.
-
Borchard with 3 homers today, now hitting .276 with 8 jacks and 31 rbi's...Looks like you have given up far too early, NO WAY I do that deal.
-
Reed has really never hit for power in pro ball, but from what I understand, that should develop as he grows as a player. And what Brando said here is exactly right, Reed is a smart player who doesn't get himself out. His OBP will be very good. Reed probably will get the entire season at AAA, but he or Joe could get the call if the situation in CF becomes desperate. I'd say Rowands performance today buys him a little more time, like it or not. And yes, as long as he is with the team, he WILL face all lefties.
-
I remember when this thread was started and it was laughable... No more...Joe Bo is on fire
-
I called it and you all laughed at me. He's on his way.
-
He has been a terrible fielder this year, if you ever saw a game in person this year, you will see what I mean...His routes are absolutely horrible and he is making routine plays look like great plays all of the time because of the horrid jumps he is getting on balls.
-
Can't be posting that stuff around here....
-
Based on what I read in another thread here, he is not playing today because we are facing Santana, who is a lefty.
