I'd say we'd be lucky to be top 15 at this point with the way this team is playing. We need a giant kick in the ass very soon...

Alex from Louisville, KY: - From an observation standpoint, it looks as though the Sox are placing you on what I would call the "Buehrle plan." He was brought up slowly and eased into the rotation via the bullpen. Do you feel this is what the White Sox envision with you and do you see any similarities between yourself and Mark?

I think I'm going back for the Braves series in June...Maybe I'll see some of you then...

Thank ya Baj, appreciate the update. Sucks to hear that about Wing, hopefully he can battle back from the surgery (if it happens) and be productive like he has been to this point in the Sox farm system.

Just wondering...Should be interesting to see these results.

Lot of the guys don't work the counts. There should be certain guys who are required to take a strike before they even swing the bat on this team. When you have a young guy, you make him throw strikes and try to make him throw a lot of pitches early on and wait for him to tire. At that point, you then tee off on him. May be easier said than done, but it's what I would do.

Olerud for PK straight up suits me just fine...Olerud is gone after the season with an expiring contract, we get a left handed bat for the rest of the way who doesnt try to hit HR's all the time...Sounds good to me.

Sometimes I wonder if these people even watch the games or follow the team based on the way they spell player names...
-
WHAT? Where did you see this?

Wondering how this will shake out....

Believe it or not, I dislike the Twins more than I dislike the Cubs. -
Why would we want to kill the confidence of yet another minor leaguer?
-
Rowand needs to grab some bench, I think about 80% of Sox fans would agree with that sentiment. Spoke with a poster at our "rival" site WSI this past weekend and he's watched Rowand in the OF a lot this year up close and says he's just been terrible with his routes all season long. And from what I've seen, he hasn't hit well enough to be an everyday player.

Well, he's probably not 29, his true age hasn't yet been discovered. If we are going to pay that money for a starter, there are other guys I feel we can get for at or around the same money who are better than Livan. Why take on a contract that goes beyond this year when we are about to clear 25 million off the payroll this offseason with the losses of Mags, Valentin and Koch? For that same money and probably about the same deal of prospects, we could get Freddy Garcia, who is a proven AL commodity and has an expiring contract. He's been a NL pitcher all of his career, so what's to say he'll be successful in the AL? Everyone likes to speak of his success in the World Series, but that was a long time ago. Just playing Devil's Advocate here, nothing personal JD.

I know he's hurt, but any news on his return, how he's feeling, etc? Rex, Baj, Bullard, anyone?
-
For that pornstache, of course.
-
Speak for yourself.
-
Wow a package that includes Valentin in order to acquire Garcia...Depends on who else we give up in the deal, but if it's mid-level prospects, I'm open ears.
-
I would like to see him put together a hot streak and get that average up near the .280 range...Right now I believe he's at .235ish.
-
A 4.52 era in the NL sucks.
-
Wow, big game for Borch, glad to hear it...It's a mental thing with Borchard, nothing else is wrong with his game. Once he gets the mental part of the game (which is easier said than done) he'll be a big league regular.
-
Peavy got rocked when he first came up... Harden was solid last year, what has he done this year? Webb, Willis and Prior are exceptions to the fact that most pitchers struggle early and often during their first few months/years in the bigs.
-
Give him an average changeup and another decent pitch to go along with his fastball and knuckle curve which are plus pitches and I think he'll be fine...Who knows, if Coop is still around when it's Honel's time they may teach him the cutter.
-
That is becoming common around here, the name calling part. Criticize all you want, but quit with the unnecesary name calling that makes you look like a complete ass and takes away all of the ever dwindling credibility in your posts and perspectives. Some people just don't get it YAS, but I'm glad you're one that does.
-
Guess you don't pay attention to the minors, Kris Honel's down there and once he gets healthy and rolling again this year like he has since he was drafted in 2001, he'll be the next big thing pitching wise for the White Sox. Homegrown Chicago boy with nasty stuff...Can't wait.
-
Garland will pitch well the rest of the year, I envision a era near 4.00 with 14-15 wins...He'll show up tomorrow. If we don't knock Durbin around, it'll be embarassing. It was bad enough we made that clown Greisinger from the Twins looks great on Saturday, but Durbin is even worse than him....Better knock him around early and often and give Jon some run support.
