Wally Judge transferring to Rutgers. Nice addition for them. They have the 15th rated class according to Rivals for 2011 so they could have an interesting team in a couple years. -

QUOTE (oldsox @ May 18, 2011 -> 09:38 AM) Disagree. If we offer arbitration, they will prob accept and then we are stuck with the salaries. Esp MB. Jackson is a Boras client. No way he ever accepts arb -
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 17, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) So since Ozzie refuses to make the correct move by benching Pierre and playing Viciedo in his place, it is OK to be angry about the correct player not getting the promotion? It's ok to be mad about that. But it's kind of pointless to project that anger towards the promotion when it really is two separate issues. That's my main problem. DV is on a roll right now. Hitting the ball for power, average and currently actually taking occasional walks. If you agree Ozzie would just sit him, you're saying you would still want him here anyways? I wouldn't. He needs to be playing every day somewhere and know he's playing every day. If he assumes the Teahen platoon role, for example, I feel he may press to try and make an impact which could also force him out of what has appeared to be a new sense of plate discipline as well.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 17, 2011 -> 03:13 PM) This was the perfect opportunity to get Viciedo onto the major league club, absolutely perfect. No, it wasn't. The perfect opportunity would be if Pierre were hitting the DL. A bench player who sees 6-8 at bats a week is not ideal. He's absolutely the best bat in the minors but are you really naive enough to think that's actually how that would play out? Yes, Ozzie might give him 2-3 starts (out of 9 or 10) but then he'd be gone. He played well last year and still barely played. He would not be used appropriately. I have no doubt about that. And it would do him no good to play infrequently up here. Ozzie is going to continue to give Pierre the benefit of the doubt. If Dayan replaces anyone, it will be him or if one of PK/CQ/Dunn hits the DL. He will not be called up to play a backup or platoon role. And frankly, he shouldn't be.
-
QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 17, 2011 -> 03:04 PM) Oh the logic in here is so annoying with those backing Ozzie and Kenny on this saying we'd have to bench Dayan anyways. This is an opportunity to reconsider the whole Pierre situation and of course we made the wrong decision. THAT is what this is about. WAKE UP! Couldn't have said it better myself.
-
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 17, 2011 -> 03:04 PM) Teahen doesn't play third, either anymore. It boils down to the fact that Dayan is eons better than Juan Pierre. And we have to probably the fourth best hitter in the entire organization in AAA for no reason. Teahen has 11 starts, and 10 are at 3B. The Dayan/Pierre thing is a completely different argument. I agree he should be up here, but this roster move today has/had nothing to do with him. McPherson will probably get a handful of at bats and be gone in 10 days.

LILLIBRIDGE!!!!!

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 17, 2011 -> 02:53 PM) A guy who had a .840 OPS in the majors last year in over 100 at-bats (and he is raking at AAA) is past up for a 30-year-old AAAA player. F This Team. No he wasn't. Dayan is no longer a 3B. I don't get why people aren't getting this. This was a temporary move to replace a bench player. Dayan is not in our plans to ride the bench. And he shouldn't be.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 17, 2011 -> 02:41 PM) Pierre not in the lineup tonight! Finally. Lilli getting the start and the leadoff spot. Boy do I hope he has a good game...

QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ May 17, 2011 -> 02:18 PM) Unbelievable. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 17, 2011 -> 02:25 PM) Wow, this team... They're making it hard to root for and watch them. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 17, 2011 -> 02:28 PM) FU*K THIS TEAM!! QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 17, 2011 -> 02:30 PM) I literally cannot imagine how bad the management of this team is. What a sad day to be a White Sox fan, it's like they are trying to lose on purpose. What a JOKE. F**K YOU OZZIE AND KENNY! You assh**es suck! QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 17, 2011 -> 02:34 PM) This move is right up there with starting Kotsay everyday for virtually the whole season. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/k/kotsama01.shtml Check out the "sponsor" of his page, I expected some ridiculous responses when I opened this thread but was surprised to see where some of them were coming from. Teahen is going to be back in 10 days. Teahen backs up at 3B and 1B. Morel and Vizquel are going to be getting probably at least 8 of the next 10 starts at 3B. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH VICIEDO. The Viciedo argument would be to replace Pierre, which I'm not going to even attempt to argue would be wrong, but this is a completely separate move. Getting mad over this is ridiculous. Calling up Dayan to sit the bench and get 10 at bats would have been pointless.

QUOTE (Brian @ May 17, 2011 -> 01:21 PM) Ya know, I would of been fine if the girl that accidently got the flowers in the shop was the mother. Dumb tease. Yeah, and for those 2 or 3 seconds I totally bought it.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 17, 2011 -> 11:55 AM) No. This is just a bad team playing badly with a subpar coaching staff and GM.

I thought South Park already had this figured out...?

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 17, 2011 -> 10:19 AM) ABC cancelled 'V' $%^#$^#@%$^@# WHAT!?!?! f***... I loved that show and the way they ended the season totally set it up for more episodes.

QUOTE (Brian @ May 16, 2011 -> 09:28 PM) HIMYM with the most predictable season finale ever. Really? I didn't see that coming until the last minute. Also, I think this means the show is almost over. Barney's character is what makes this show. So unless there's a long lead-up to the wedding I don't see how this show can last much longer.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 17, 2011 -> 09:46 AM) How many players in Latin America have been signed to a guaranteed MLB contract (I won't even add "signed at age 19 or higher to their first contract"), received $10+ million dollars, and didn't (or hadn't yet) achieved a starting role in the 3rd year of their playing career? In this situation, it's basically like we "drafted" something between an advanced high school player and a seasoned SEC collegiate player and gave him one of the biggest signing bonuses in the history of the draft. It's an unusual contract and certainly "big" by most definitions. Well now you're adding qualifiers to this whereas initially there were none. Mark Prior had a $10M+ contract out of the draft for example.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 17, 2011 -> 09:13 AM) Not sure if you're being fictitious or not, but I think they're the best team in the division. They certainly have the two best pitchers and best position player in the division. Detroit has to be the favorites right now. I still just don't buy into Cleveland being this legit.
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 17, 2011 -> 09:30 AM) Then we have to take Viciedo off the list because that was the biggest contract ever given to a non-major league ready player in MLB history. Ramirez...nobody can take that away from KW, same with Jenks and Santos. Well that's just not true.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 16, 2011 -> 05:23 PM) link A spokesman from Minute Maid Park told MailOnline the athletic fan received jail time, a fine and a lifelong ban from Major League Baseball parks. Love it. Don't know how that'd be enforced but I love the message that sends.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 16, 2011 -> 03:42 PM) too much of a chick flick for you? I actually liked Easy A and thought it was overall a pretty funny movie.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 16, 2011 -> 03:49 PM) Comparing DV to a guy with Thomas's eye for the strike zone is flat out unfair. I think that's why he combined him with Vlad since Vlad has been known to swing at anything. While any comparisons to a player like Frank are premature and ambitious, the ball certainly jumps off his bat like Frank.

QUOTE (SnB @ May 16, 2011 -> 01:43 PM) I thought Phoenix was the one that was going to move to Winnipeg? Glendale bought themselves a one year reprieve basically. Bettman will do everything he can to keep that team there. Don't be shocked if they are gone in 2012-2013 though. (Quebec City, Hartford, Kansas City, Seattle)
