  1. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 01:08 PM) Chet used the past tense He did, but also used the present as well QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 01:09 PM) The tag line may have been "What really happened?!?!"!!!!""" But the documentaries all went into some amount of detail as to why the troothers were stupid. And the people on the news channels who invite them on (which is up to and the right of each news network) don't bash or criticize them? (I ask b/c I don't pay attention when they are brought on any program). I know I saw a program on Nat Geo or History i forget that followed the film makers of on eof the bigger 9/11 conspiracy documentaries. Like they always do,they brought on the skeptics but they portray both views without much slant. They let each side give the arguments.
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 01:03 PM) Did those people get to go on every single cable news network every single night to talk about their conspiracy? There were main stream documentaries, articles, shows on National Geographic/History etc...
  3. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 12:58 PM) It was something like 70% of Americans believed he had a direct role (along with Al Qaeda) in 2002. But it's no longer 2002.
  4. QUOTE (Chet Lemon @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 12:45 PM) A lot of people believed (and still believe) that Saddam Hussein was responsible for 9/11. Doesn't even come close to the numbers who believe The Evil George Bush was behind it.
  5. But I thought KW made an unbelieveably bad mistake when he had the audacity to trade him for Javy Vazquez...?
  6. Seattle nixed three team trade which included Hernandez, Gonzalez I'm sorry but you're not contending and probably won't be able to hang on to King Felix once he hits FA. That package you could have gotten from Boston could have really helped set up your future. IMO, they should have pulled the trigger.
  7. ESPN Radio is good IMO I enjoy Mike and Mike in the Morning and Doug Gottlieb is funny. And Bill Simmons' podcasts are classic.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 11:37 AM) if a waiver claim is placed, does the team that placed the waiver claim automatically get the player? I thought then the teams can negotiate a trade They can, but if they don't agree to terms the player can't just go anywhere. He'd have to pass through again and odds are he wouldn't. It's much easier to trade a player who clears waivers since they can be traded anywhere (obviously).
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 10:21 AM) I think Fields is going to end up being a Waiver deal in the next month. Who woulda thunk that the Sox traded(theoretically) 4 first round picks away in 1 season. 3 as of right now I'd suspect Fields would be plucked off waivers though. If I'm Washington or Florida or Pittsburgh he's the type of guy I take a flyer on.
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 09:59 AM) It's a dog's anus. LOL
  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 09:57 AM) Do you see a holy image? Yeah I think it's fairly obvious too. Is there supposed to be a joke associated with this? I guess I don't get it.
  12. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 3, 2009 -> 09:36 PM) Praise the lord! ???
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 3, 2009 -> 08:20 PM) I'll s***. Hopefully it's dark and rated R... ...and Raph f*cks the s*** out of April. (or Casey Jones) Eww, you wanna see Raphael f*** Casey Jones?
  14. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 09:32 AM) I actually didn't know Korea was by Japan and wasn't close to Vietnam until I was like 20. Shame on me. Not really your fault though. All we ever learn about in school is America, England, Western Europe and Russia (but only when Russia did stuff concerning Europe).
  15. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Aug 3, 2009 -> 08:51 PM) Same here. Yet at the same time, it scares me s***less that people are actually buying the "Obama's not born in America" crap. That doesnt bother me nearly as much as the number of people who believe someone other than Al Qaeda was responsible for 9/11
  16. QUOTE (Chet Lemon @ Aug 3, 2009 -> 10:39 PM) What percentage of people who assert that the President was born in Kenya can locate Kenya on a map? It would be a simple test; just show them a blank map of the world with all the countries' borders. What percentage of Americans in general could do that? 10%? Hell, some people still think Africa's a country.
  17. QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 01:43 AM) the most frustrating thing in this entire organization is kenny williams jr leading off and mitchell batting 6th-7th wtf? If that's the most frustrating thing in this organization I'd say we pretty much have no problems at all then
  18. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Aug 3, 2009 -> 10:02 PM) I would rather play Nix than Ramirez. Ramirez is just not that good to me. Nix at the bottom of the order has some pop, takes pitches, and can hit and run. Ramirez pulls everything. Yeah I don't know in what world Nix is the better player but ok. I'm pretty sure Alexei has some pop and can run as well.
  19. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 4, 2009 -> 01:55 AM) The 1988 and 1989 seasons almost made me deny to people that I was a Sox fan. Ironic. That's when I was living in Germany and became a Sox fan.
  20. I'd love to bring back Dye on a 2 year deal. I love Thome but after this year we need to be done with him. He can probably play one more year, possibly two, but I'd rather it not be with us. Dye can fill in at the DH where he should have pretty productive years and he could still always spell someone in the OF if he had to.
  21. Chris Getz is exactly the kind of player the Twins have killed us with for years. Everyone always complained about it and people kept wishing we'd get some players to play the game like that. Chris Getz is that player. He will probably get better, though never be a star. He does things the right way and can do the little things. He also adds some much needed speed to the roster. Now, though, despite having a repsectable rookie season, there are people complaining about him. I just don't get it.
  22. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 07:55 PM) Does anyone who plays NHL 09 on PS3 know how to do the spin move or any of the other complex deke moves? I use the L2 and right stick combo occasionally but Ive seen some crazy stuff against people online and I have no idea how to do it. Hold L2, start your R3 button at 12 o'clock and rotate 360 degrees in either direction back to 12 o'clock
  23. Only if by "commit to Bobby" you mean committing to trading him, since he still has some nice value and is about to get quite expensive
  24. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 04:59 PM) Wasn't there talk of the Yanks getting rid of Melki Cabrerra earlier in the season? I think I remember someone here saying that he would just be another Brian Anderson - all defense and no stick at the plate. People who said that knew nothing about baseball. The Yankee$ would have been retarded to give him up on the cheap as many people suggested he could have been had for.
  25. QUOTE (lostfan @ Aug 2, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) Guys don't b**** about that call... Paulie could've and should've fouled that off. If it was a ball, it wasn't more than an inch off the plate. You don't leave your chances up to the umpire like that. It's one of those calls where we b**** if it's called a strike but Yankees fans b**** if it's called a ball. It wasn't one of those obviously blown calls that are 6 inches off the plate. Thank you. I'm a lot more mad he didn't swing at that than the call, which is a strike with 95% of MLB umpires
