QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 03:43 PM) Didn't he start in the Cards' org? Touted as their future SS at one time, until his age was revealed to be incorrect and his numbers slipped too? I remember him being with the Marlins minor league system...not sure if that was before or after he aged 6 years though.

Geezus man, almost drowning and then a car accident two days later? This trip's really doing a number on you!

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 02:07 PM) Sad, but really it was the best solution. We'll see if someone picks him up. ^^^^^^ Good luck Pablo...hopefully you can hop on some NL team with something to play for this year.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 12:32 PM) Pablo is the one to go in IMO, but Uribe is the obvious if only because of a $4.5M contract and most likely gone after this season anyway. But, Uribe is a far better glove man and can be the IF super sub, which is the role he played when he first came to the Sox. However, maybe today there won't be any moves except for putting people on the DL? Jenks could be on the 15 day DL, which means Konerko is back in his open spot and nothing is done until after the All-Star break. Well with the AS break coming up, I wonder if it'd be better just to DL Jenks to make sure his back gets rest. I'd rather lose him for a week now rather than a month down the road.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 12:07 PM) Healthy and improving with the bat. Numbers recovering. They are juggling Getz and Richar, to get them both playing time, as they are both doing well (Richar lately, Getz for most of the season). Bourgeois is heating up too. So if Uribe gets traded later, there are definitely some options at Charlotte. I actually feel Getz and Bourgeois are better replacements for Pablo than Uribe. And, I wouldnt want Richar replacing either as I dont see him being as adept at filling in successfully with limited playing time as I feel the other two could. That and I with Richar probably havinh the most upside, I'd hate to see him go long stretches without getting swings.

QUOTE (thedoctor @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 12:06 PM) speaking of richar, what is his status? In AAA. Healthy again and has been hitting the bell pretty well since starting off real slow. BA is up to ~.265 IIRC

QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 11:58 AM) BA is 26. There's no more developing. This has been his best year, but it still hasnt been that great at the plate - gotta send him down. Ozuna gives you a pinch runner and the chance to move people around in late innings if you need to. Wise becomes your pinch runner instead of Ozuna. BA is at least a threat to hit the ball over 300 feet and plays GG defense in center. IMO, Anderson is more valuable than Ozuna. Ozuna doesnt do anything that someone else on the bench cant do any more. That being said, I've loved having Pablo the past few years and would hate to see him go, but in the end I believe it would be the best/most logical move to make.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 10:09 AM) Well when someone looks at the list and says who did not vote Frank #1, it will be me. Same here...I have him at 2.

Too bad they're privately owned. As someone mentioned already, I wouldnt mind buying stock in them right now if I could

Not condoning or making excuses for his actions in this case but in general... I love Manny Ramirez. I love watching him hit, I love watching him attempt to field, adn I find his antics often funny and harmless (ie the fan high five). Also, he truly enjoys the game, always smiling in the dugout. I would take him on my team any day of the week.

For any Diablo fans out there, Diablo 3 was announced at WWI last weekend. Game looks pretty cool from the game video released. No word on a release date, probably 1-1.5 years away still

Dodged another bullet. JC should be on a short leash today.

Argh...can't let people like Ronny Cedeno beat you on teams like this

Dempster 42 pitches through 2 innings is a good sign. Although to be honest its not like they havent been able to hit him this week though

QUOTE (spiffalicious @ Jun 27, 2008 -> 01:10 PM) They played the Yankees 10 times last year (7 at home, 3 in NY.) HA! Well whaddya know...one woulda thought I'd have picked up on that haha. I guess I just always assumed teams inter-division schedules within the AL were all the same within their own divisions. My bad. -

QUOTE (forrestg @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 06:05 PM) I have had a problem with the fairness of our schedule for some time.. Purely state sometimes we would play the angels or the yankees 9 games while others in our division played them only 6.. Is it possible with the aid of a computer for each team in our division to play the same oponents within a game or so every year.. Even if that means that we play the brewers, the reds, the cards, and whoever the tigers play.. Each team in our division should have 162 games against the same foes. Myself, We can do without the cross town classic..I've been to Cubs Sox games and believe me I'd rather work as a correctional center guard with hardened criminals intent on killing me like I did for 21 years rather than one game with those "riff raff ~!@#$^ cub fans! I could be wrong, and i'm not gonna look it up, but I live in NY and am fairly cerrtain we've never played the yankees 9 times in any one season in recent memory. Any discrepancy would purely be due to interleague play and not inter-division play within the AL. Again, i could be wrong but i'm fairly confident I'm not -
QUOTE (TCQ @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:57 PM) Im surprised the Libertarian party is gettng such little love. Less government is a good thing, hell if the Articles of Confederation were still around we wouldnt have any of the problems we have today I voted for Bednarik 4 years ago (first time i could vote) b/c i wasn't thrilled with Bush and just hated John Kerry. This year i'm not gonna go the third party route though.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 26, 2008 -> 03:51 PM) Twins came back to tie it. Of course, their inning started with Baker getting a hit. I hate them

88 pitches through 5...he can probably go one more but with him due up this inning Ozzie may pull him
-
Pierre is out! No automatic triples this inning!
