QUOTE (G&T @ May 7, 2008 -> 05:14 PM) Oh, well you'll be fine if you aren't downtown. Where do you live? I'm in Guilderland right now, I work with a guy who lives in Niskayuna. For now i live in Binghamton, so other than for road trips i dont have much of a use for a GPS, but i have friends from school all over the albany area (ravenna, delmar, latham, bethlehem etc..)

QUOTE (G&T @ May 7, 2008 -> 03:23 PM) It probably won't. GPS is useless in Boston. I had to use my Verizon GPS (VZ Navigator) on my phone to get out of there. It didn't have a clue where the streets were going. If it works I will be very impressed. Well i have to pick up a friend in Niskayuna first and we're technically going to the boston metropolitan area only, a town on the outskirts so we wont have to drive directly through the city I dont think. But hopefully it wont be an issue regardless, these things arent cheap.

So how many lists have you received so far for this?

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 7, 2008 -> 03:06 PM) You're not supposed to pull the ball on an off-speed pitch anyway. He says he was waiting for an off-speed pitch and stayed back to pull it. It doesn't make sense. You're not supposed to pull an off-speed pitch? The purpose of an off speed pitch is often to get you (the batter) out in front. Thats why people have to "try and sit back" on those pitches. Waiting even longer to go the other way is even tougher. It's easier to pull an off-speed pitch than it is to wait and go the other way with it.

I ended up going with a Garmin nuvi 760...it should come in sometime in the the next few days. We'll see how it works when i drive up to Boston in a few weeks

QUOTE (scenario @ May 6, 2008 -> 07:10 PM) Kannapolis is playing a doubleheader. They lost the first game 3-1. Rice went the distance (6 innings), but got no run support. Kanny only got 2 hits. Rice only gave up 1 hit. He struck out 6 and walked 3. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...kanafx_lcoafx_1 Levi Maxwell is getting the start in game 2. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...kanafx_lcoafx_2 This ought to be interesting. He has been absolutely lights out as a reliever, but this is his first start. He's coming into the game with a 0.47 ERA. Edit: Kannapolis lost the second game 2-1. Nice outing for Maxwell, but he lost despite giving up only 1 hit and 1 walk in 4 innings. Wow how do you get swept in a DH when your pitching staff gives up a combined 3 hits?

my roommate in college had to do a couple weekends for discharging a firearm in our apartment. He said it was just real boring but nothing like having to watch your back or whatnot. A lot of people like him in there for short amounts of time for minor, stupid things. If they let you bring anything, bring some long books to help kill time.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 6, 2008 -> 08:18 AM) Will it be just for the car? Or do you want a portable unit that you can use and carry? This will be for my car almost exclusively.

So i'm looking into buying a GPS for my car and i'd like to get a good one with a good amount of features (ie bluetooth). I'm willing to spend up to about $500 or maybe a little more. Does anyone have one they'd recommend or know whats considered one of the better ones? I've read some reviews online at circuit city already but any help from you guys would be appreciated. Thanks.

If a deaf person has to go to court for trial, is it still called a hearing?
-
How is the online in GTA? Like how many people are on at once? Is it one big MMORPG type world online? I'm curious cuz if the online feature is something i really look for in games. I'm not huge into single player stuff, i bore of it quickly (even Oblivion i finally put down without beating it)

QUOTE (shipps @ May 2, 2008 -> 10:48 AM) Shaun Livingston? Well Livingston also tore 3 ligaments so i'd hesitate to compare the two -
QUOTE (knightni @ May 1, 2008 -> 05:10 PM) So, I'm wondering.. Would anyone be interested in doing a writeup or two regarding your favorite guy(s) on the list? We might be using this list to promote talkchicagosports. I'd be willing to write a couple.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 1, 2008 -> 04:56 PM) I feel bad now for ragging on Chris Lofton as much as I did saying how bad he played last year. Same here. I wonder if this will help his draft status at all with NBA scouts now knowing the reason for his slip in production the first half of the season -

QUOTE (knightni @ May 1, 2008 -> 05:02 PM) Ben Hansbrough, guard at Mississippi St. (Tyler's brother), will be transferring to Notre Dame this fall. http://msn.foxsports.com/cbk/story/8085842...g-to-Notre-Dame Dammit, thats all ND needs is another shooter who is going to kill UConn -
Baseball seriously needs to rethink how they do this when they have a guy who has been DL/AAA all year on the ballot over a guy who has started pretty much every game. Oh, and the fact that this started in April...

QUOTE (Texsox @ May 1, 2008 -> 01:24 PM) Someone who lived as a boarder in the house Naw, who would consider that unusual Unusual yes, but who would have guessed what the purpose of that was?

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 1, 2008 -> 01:57 PM) April Monthly Update... Sergio struggled quite a bit at the plate in his first month of seeing High A pitching, hitting just .167. Here are his April numbers: In 51 AB's... AVG: .157 OBP: .218 SLG: .255 OPS: .473 H: 8 2B: 3 3B: 1 HR: 0 RBI: 4 BB/K: 4/6 SB/CS: 0/2 There isn't much to highlight in those numbers. He did go 2-3 with both to of the team's 2 RBI on 4/29. And his stikeout/walk ratio isn't bad, though its not as good as last year. Hopefully Miranda can pick it up at the plate in May. Defensively, Miranda made 3 errors on the month, which seems not too bad. I don't have access to any other defensive stats. Over the course of a season that only like 60 strikeouts. If he keeps putting the ball in play, especially with his (presumed) speed, that average will go up. He's young, improvement over the course of the year is what i'm looking for with him

QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:19 PM) I didn't follow the game today (damn finals), but do I need to add another guy to the list? Probably not, based on the 3 runs and 8 hits. No, good results on paper for him but far from impressive. -
