Buerhle's playing with fire here allowing so many baserunners to the BoSox. Hopefully he can get by a little more smoothly. And, we gotta scroe more runs cuz these guys can hit -
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 05:32 PM) No dice. Eminem: 'I'm Not Retiring' Good.

I could see moving Fields up if he has a good second half. That'd also open up a spot at AA for Schnurstein

QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) He is amazing in the field, but that's not our problem here. You say his bat has come along in the past couple of years, was that not including last season's .270 OBP, which was the WORST OBP IN BASEBALL? If that's what counts as "coming along" where did it come from? He's having his best season average-wise this season (around .280) and the last two seasons he's had something like 18 and 23 HR and over 75 RBI each year...as the #8 hitter. Plus, he bats in fron of the pitcher and doesnt get a lot of great pitches to swing at. Im not saying he's a great offensive player but he's not that bad and hitting that low his job isnt to get on base at the rate of a 1-2 guy. He has shown the past couple years he can drive in runs and thats been important for Florida the past couple seasons. Also, Pro Player isnt the most hitter-friendly park either.

HAHA, and its winning too
-
I've seen a lot of Gonzalez from following the Marlins and i would take him in a heartbeat. The guy is simply amazing in the field and has a decent bat too. It's come along some the past couple of years. He'll never hit .300 but he can give you more consistent numbers than Crede and Uribe will

Munoz pitched well, now 5-10 but has an ERA of 3.68, Charlotte wins 3-2 http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...rocaaa_chraaa_1
-
Just keep in mind his ERA is gonna be scewed due to two horrendous outings. His been pretty decent otherwise
-
Since coming off the DL Diaz has been so-so. He had a good outing his last appearance. Personally, I like Diaz. He actually did a good job out of the pen last year when he was here. IMO, he'll end up in the big leagues in someone's bullpen eventually.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 04:38 PM) Nobody knows this for sure, all Ross has done in his professional career is hit. He plays a great defensive 1st base and he can run for a first baseman as well. Personally I think Ross would do a fine job as an everday first baseman but I will say I highly doubt that he ever gets a shot. I personally think we'd be fine next year if our 1B were Dye, Gload and Fullmer

Really good trade for Florida. They get part of Lowell's contract off their hands and can move Cabrera back to his natural position. Also, they get some young arms along with a veteran arm to replace Burnett who was gone at the end of the year anyways. Sucks to lose Eric Reed though. He's gonna be a good leadoff guy. The O's get another pitcher who i think will do well. But they are paying a high price, probably too much IMO

Where does he play? Where is he from? How old is he? I've never heard of him before. Is he old enough to have avoided the draft or was he drafted by the Hornets a while ago -
