  1. this was an embarrasing series. The worst team in the league and we almost got swept. The offense was there somewhat, but still failed at key times (8th inning last night, all game today minus Val, Frank, and ARow). Pitching was not good. Garland was good until the 9th, which he should not have pitched. Ugly, ugly series
  2. It was just one start. I'm glad Munoz got sent down but some of you make it seem like all is lost with him. He jumped from AA to Chicago, made his first start in the bigs, is in his first year as a starter, and is young. He obviously isnt ready now, but i dont know why so many people are acting as if he will never be any good. (Multiple threads led me to this statement)
  3. ya i was pretty surprised Garland was sent out for the 9th. Even though he was pitching well, he was already over 100 pitches. Ozzie leaves pitchers in too long, for the most part
  4. He doesnt start Clears cap We have other viable options for backup Our O-Line has played 3 straight injury-free years (now watch, i bet i jinxed it, lol)
  5. I like 'em. I've been a Sonics and Grizzly fan for a while, although i dont follow the Grizz as much. They need to change their name though. Do Grizzlies actually live in Memphis???

    KERRY!!!!!

YES! Now there's no doubt that will actually happen What's the over/under on when he changes his mind? 2, 3 months?
  7. so W-S loses two guys and gains just one? Does this mean Fields is close to signing?
  8. Good job to those two. And i doubt it'll be on T.V. unless some local station picks it up for a local team
  9. Wow, that was actually a really good article. Who knew that would come out of Kruk?
  10. i've actually read that if you get bit several times by a snake your body begins to develop somewhat an immunity to those kinds of venoms (i.e hemotoxic, neurotoxic, myotoxic, etc...)
  11. I largely agree with that. I dont love Bush, i'm only voting for him because I think he'll do a much better job than Kerry and we unfortunately have only 2 candidates with an actual shot at this. I've read up on this Ron Paul guy and he does make a lot of sense
  12. i thought the same thing
  13. Uribe should be a lock. Other than Soriano he has been at the top of the 2B class in the AL. MB will probably be there and although Thomas is more than worthy he wont go. Torre will screw him again and instaed drag along Derek Jeter as his 3rd SS and several other of his guys that dont deserve it
  14. lol this got bumped from last year. And it sure does take some balls to criticize AFTER the fact :headshake
  15. what the NHL needs to do, IMO: 1) Remove red line 2) Reinstate tag-up offsides (they are testing it in the AHL this year) 3) Make the refs call obstruction and interference. It will get rid of the cluthc and grab techniques 4) Remove the instigator rule
  16. they can if they are on two way contracts. The AHL could only be affected for the better.
  17. is someone gonna pin this? *cough* I see you on ss *cough*
  18. they'll play in Europe, WHL or nothing. The ones on two way contracts will play in the AHL (with the exception of a lot of Euros and some extremely good young players)
  19. i was thinking the same thing Orlando Cabrera wouldnt be too bad either
  20. Raycroft would probably be in Providence but Toivenen (sp?) is already there so that would be one hell of a combo. I highly doubt Thornton is on a 2-way contract. I bet Bergeron is though. Two way contracts are sigend by young players (usually rookies) who are expected to go through the AHL before the NHL. So players who bypass the AHL probably are under a two way contract however cuz most ofthe time the NHL club assumes they'll start in the 'A'. Being on a two way contract means that the NHL parent club can send them down to their AHL (or lower) team without having them to clear waivers.
  21. wait, why is it again that the Sox dont deal with Boras?
  22. well this sure isnt good news, but not much of a surprise either. However, despite this i still wouldnt trade him. We also cant afford to trade Borchard, Reed, Sweeney, or Anderson now. The Marlins only had Pudge for a year and look what they did. So we should keep Magglio to give us a shot now. Unless the Yankees offered Deiner Navarro or the Mets Wright and Kazmir (obviously not happening) we should hang on to him
