QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Feb 28, 2013 -> 08:46 AM) Well apparently you know the worst kind, but at least when it comes to highway cops most I've talked to or read about say 20mph is the cushion they give which is why I always stuck with only going 75 down 57 and never had a problem. Well if you're ever in NY try driving 10-15 over and see how much fun you have

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Feb 27, 2013 -> 10:34 PM) The real problem is what kind of asshat cop pulls you over for going 11 over on the highway. Most of them. I have friends and my gf has a couple family members in law enforcement. 10 over is the limit.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Feb 27, 2013 -> 06:14 PM) Exactly why Hahn has the advantage. I actually see his point, although I don't know if I agree with it. Basically, because of uncertainties, he is not going to command a lot, if anything, if the Sox were to shop him around. But if Hahn knows that he'll just tell teams they are hanging on to him to see if he can turn it around and become something. So, if some team really wants him for whatever reason, they're going to have to approach Hahn with an actual legitimate offer.

I'm pissed. I would be fine with Smith for a 3rd, but for what the KC gave up it absolutely astounds me. Just awful. New regime and it looks like the same astoundingly stupid roster moves. Alex Smith for the #34 overall pick? Plus a pick next year? Are you kidding. KC really could have used that pick for a WR this year.

QUOTE (floridafan @ Feb 27, 2013 -> 08:19 AM) I just registered with Baseball Prospectus and I am no fan either! Grabe hit .357 last year and according to them they expect him to hit .181 this year?! What's up with that? His worst year in the last 10 was his Freshman year in the Coastal Plains League where hit hit .302. I want a refund! LOL! I prefer http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/pro...sp?P=eric-grabe ! At least there they know how to grade his bat! Seriously though, Grabe will make them revise their methodology, at least where evaluating him is concerned! Streatching, Throwing, Ground Balls, Bunting and Hitting is his routine right now at the Early Spring Training Mini Camp. Two players at each infield position, that is all there is on the field with him. Eric has been working out at 3rd. Kind of a random question, but how do you pronounce your last name? Whenever I read it I always think it is like "Grahb" (like "Cobb")

US qualified for the Under-20 World Cup in July last night. This was really important for the developmental program and also because it might allow us to get some dual nationals into US Soccer like John Anthony Brooks, Adam Henley and Shawn Parker -

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 21, 2013 -> 11:07 AM) If you like beer there is a ton of awesome breweries. There is also this really cool bar called 1up. That has tons of old video games. I forget the name of it when I was there in the spring but I went to a bar in downtown Denver that literally had 150+ beers on tap

QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 20, 2013 -> 03:28 PM) I wasn't clear. I'm not complaining that he did a call-in. That's fine. But his comments on there that Peavy should start Opening Day. I think Sale should want the ball Opening Day, and I would hope Robin just gets over with and let's him know he's opening the season against Shields. I think most players who are young like him will him would publicly back the veteran when asked. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 20, 2013 -> 01:04 PM) It is too bad that the NCAA doesn't have the NBA's penalties for flopping. Duke wouldn't know what to do on defense if they did -

QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 20, 2013 -> 02:30 PM) Chris Sale is doing some call-in thing... https://twitter.com/whitesox I like that he's humble, but somebody needs to tell him he's the ace of the White Sox and he's starting opening day and hopefully starting 33 games, including 6 against the Tigers this year. Really stretching to find something to b**** about today huh? -

I just saw the replay of that play and as someone who has zero rooting interest in either team, it looked pretty clearly as an intentional move to me. I have no problem with a flagrant foul there. -

US U-20 team won their opening qualifier yesterday for the U20 WC. Didn't look that great, especially in the back, but I really liked what I saw in the attack from Cuevas, Gil, Rodriguez and Villareal - Cuevas in particular. It is very important that they qualify for the U20 WC so we can try and get players like John Anthony Brooks and Julian Green into another American youth squad -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 17, 2013 -> 04:40 PM) Link That was my biggest gripe with him last year. Obviously, I know he is not a contact hitter and strikes out a lot, but it seemed like he was quite frequently taking straight fastballs right down the middle and falling behind in counts resulting in him chasing pitches out of the zone for striekouts -
I loved the "walker bomb". I saw the van and was thinking what the hell (or who the hell) that was and when I saw it I thought that was great. Episode started off slowly again, but the last 10 minutes gave me hope for the rest of the season. Something big is finally happening.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Feb 15, 2013 -> 08:50 AM) Pretty amazing video, it's crazy what gets caught on video these days. Hopefully no one was seriously injured, I had heard 400 injured but no one killed. I read it was mostly minor injuries. Apparently there was a sonic boom or some sort of shock wave that caused to a lot of windows being blown out, which was the cause of the majority of the injuries. A few roofs collapsed as a result as well

They should do what baseball does. If you wanna come out after high school, go for it, if you don't - three years

At worst it was malicious intent from Cooke (which would shock no one), and at best it was a wildly irresponsible play. There was no reason his skate should have lifted to where it did. It could have been an accident, but because of who it was and what I know he's capable of, I suspect it was on purpose. Obviously he wasn't trying to end his season, but I do believe he was being the usual gutless, spineless, dirty player that he always has been. And of course when Neil tried challenging him later he declined and fell like a rag doll the second Neil's gloves got to his face. He's such a p****. He is everything that is wrong with hockey. -

Sad that the UCONN-Syracuse rivalry has to end but at least the Huskies got to stick it to Cuse one last time last night. -
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 13, 2013 -> 07:10 PM) *barring injuries to, say, two outfielders ahead of him (out of the starting 3 plus Wise and Danks). If that were to happen they should pull up Gartrell to take those 6 ABs per week
