  1. QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 9, 2008 -> 12:31 PM) Are you kidding me?? He has ZERO coaching experience. NONE at all. Not even as an assistant coach. Not even junior high or YMCA or a park league...ZERO! pax is terrible. I miss jerry krause... I don't miss that fat bastard. He really screwed up things back in the day when he tore apart the team and then the Bulls suffered for a long time. Personally, I think the Bulls screwed themselves by not offering Jordan a position in the organization and perhaps taking over as a coach. Although, it does make me wonder why Paxon didn't consider Stacey King or Scottie Pippen for the coaching position. Probably just like Collins, JR didn't want to "risk a friendship" with either of them.
  2. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 05:54 AM) I'd still rather have Fields, but his suckage at AAA this year is a bit worrisome. I would trade Fields at the deadline in a package for our greatest need, make a run for the championship and sign Crede longterm. Seriesly. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 8, 2008 -> 08:36 AM) It interesting because EVERY quote I have heard from the players, coaches, and management have all said that Walker isn't the problem. Even guys like Konerko have talked about how valuable Walker is to them. Its people on the outside who are blaming Walk. The fans need to b**** about something.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 11:29 AM) I went to North, hence the comment from me. I'm glad that your team kicked our ass when I played football my sophomore year. Someone needed to beat up those pretty boys and I'm glad the roid abusers did.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 10:20 AM) I said it in jest, but I grew up in DG. Ah, I gotcha. Yeah, I actually find the Downers Grove South teams to be weak---the football program has become a joke. When Belskis goes, that program is going to be down the toilet.
  5. Homer: Do you have anything to drink? Man: Mountain Dew or crab juice. Homer: Ewww, I'll take the crab juice.
  6. Didn't they ban the Homer Simpson vs. New York episode because of 9/11?
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 11:13 AM) DGS is weak like the Ukraine How would you know?
  8. f*** the Kenny Williams pick...what a waste.
  9. QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Jun 6, 2008 -> 10:42 AM) Recent article about Dubler: I actually covered Dubler when he was a freshman at ISU. Didn't put up huge number but was a solid college catcher and the program thought very highly of him. I covered Dubler when he was at Downers Grove South. He's a solid ball player---too bad his brother is a pansy that I should have beat up in middle school. I think it's funny that I reacted how I did when I saw Kevin's name---but he's good. He's on the list of solid athletes from DGS. Look for Brian Riegler or Jared Culver to make it big somewhere in baseball (and possibly football for Culver).
  10. QUOTE (rangercal @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 01:14 PM) read the thread. there was a link to the suntimes blog. I did read the whole thread---I just don't trust blogs, I'd rather have an official press release from the Sox or an actual article.
  11. I still want proof. This isn't on ESPN, whitesox.com, or rotoworld.com yet. It would be a nice addition to have Loaiza back, but only if he was at AAA for a bit regaining form and getting healthy.
  12. They didn't even close the deal yet---the Chicago Bulls website says it isn't set in stone.
  13. QUOTE (zenryan @ May 26, 2008 -> 05:21 PM) Noah needs to grow up. You can tell he is still immature. Someone needs to tell him he's a pro player and needs to hang out with adults, not with college kids in gainesville florida. I thought Rick Morrisey's column from yesterday's Chicago Tribune was pretty funny, it poked fun at Noah and it made me laugh at Noah's stupidity. I also have wondered about his hair, whether or not it was a rostifarian trim or not.
  14. What if the Sox put Konerko on the DL and called up Brad Eldred to play first base? He's been hitting the ball well---but I'm not sure about his defense. Would Eldred be a viable option?
  15. I'm curious about my fellow posters opinions: How did you all feel about tonight's plate umpire and his strike zone? How did you feel about the strikes called on the check swings?
  16. The Beast replied to daa84's topic in SLaM
Wheat roll (toasted), roast beef, american cheese, jalepeno peppers, tomatoes = good.
  17. The Beast replied to daa84's topic in SLaM
Make noodles with pesto sauce, green beans and grilled chicken. That's pretty easy to make.
  18. I take it that Larry Hughes is pretty much here to stay with the money that is loaded in his deal? Who may be on the way out via free agency and who actually has trade value that could go?
  19. Look guys, I'll admit don't know much about Figgins or the Angels asking price for him, but would the Angels take Uribe and a minor leaguer (AAA pitcher?) if we ate a decent portion of Uribe's salary?
  20. QUOTE (Hanky Panky @ May 21, 2008 -> 09:02 PM) I'll be at Saturday's game for the 10-game win streak! Hell yes, let's show all those bastards out there that the Sox are the best on the game of the week. (Right, isn't it on Fox and isn't it the game of the week?)
  21. QUOTE (rangercal @ May 21, 2008 -> 11:11 AM) This board is acting like a recently broken hearted teenager hesitant to love for the second time. Finally, somebody said it.
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 21, 2008 -> 12:07 PM) That and the fact that the #1 pick will not be dealt regardless of what this team has done in the past. The trade ideas the Knicks fans are coming up with on espn's message boards are priceless. That franchise REALLY wanted Rose. Then if they wanted Rose, let's pick him and not make the mistake of not selecting him.
  23. QUOTE (rangercal @ May 21, 2008 -> 10:00 AM) Where do you get this from? I disagree with you 100% I don't get it from anywhere, I just know some of the stupid draft day trades that the Bulls have made in past years. It's more a feeling that the pick will be traded than anything. Otherwise, I'd say he'll take Rose.
  24. I would think Rose makes the most sense here. Wouldn't a team rather have a flashy point guard than a big man as their first pick? I also can see JR cheaping out and trading it away, which would be disheartening.
  25. Did the Sox even mention Richar being brought back up after he recovered from his injury, because right now, Alexei has looked good as of late, and Pablo is regaining form after last year's injury, too.
