  1. Alright, so who heard about the fun incident in Toronto last night?
  2. God help us.
  3. Because the Bears did the same thing to Nagy around Thanksgiving last year, except he was fired and wasn’t away from the team for his health. Do they rebuild or retool in that scenario? I hope it isn’t cancer either. Whatever it is, I hope it isn’t life threatening. If you are fortunate to get to 70. Unfortunately we just lost my father in law to pancreatic cancer at the age of 64. But for the average lifespan, people can still be productive in their 70s, especially since the average life expectancy is in the late 70s.
  4. I didn’t know that. Thanks.
  5. Yes I know. But I’ve held onto them to see if he would be right or not. I wonder if he thought he’d be moved because of their performance, if he was pulling his prediction out of his ass or if there was a rumor about him in the organization. I bet he knew nothing and made a prediction.
  6. Shane might be right. Hopefully he’s not going to be a jerk about being right and spikes the football. I hope it’s nothing serious.
  7. Bad team this year and he’s not the problem. Keep him and deal one of the three hitters playing as position players. Fill the starting pitching void that existed at the start of the year with Rodon gone. Yes that fucking hole existed and Kopech wasn’t the solution or replacement.
  8. I don’t think they can handle that many moving pieces and sign and trade for all of the missing pieces. They should bring Abreu back and move one of Vaughn, Jimenez or Sheets to bring back some starting pitching. We need to stop discussing platoon scenarios because that is what we are seeing with the current roster. There need to be starting position players like any winning and functioning team would do. And they need to play at their actual positions too. Then deal Vaughn like they should have last offseason for quality starting pitching. Break the glut of 1B types and replace the loss of Cueto that way.
  9. I can’t wait for us to put a prediction thread together for what we think will happen with TLR, Hahn and players on this roster. It’s almost like I don’t care how this season ends since this team hasn’t shown they can compete and go on a streak to get ahead of the Twins and Guardians. Can’t wait for the autopsy thread.
  10. Bets on if Pujols gets to 700 this year before he’s done?
  11. Lets see if you’re right on the first point Shane. I hope you’re wrong though and he finishes the year.

I’d be curious to hear about how you got Payton and Mantle and what you have of A Rod, Pujols, Ichiro, Trout and Judge.

The old cards you mention definitely retain value over time, especially if they are in decent shape. Cards that I grew up with from 1989-2005 are pretty much worthless because the market was flooded with them. I’ve got autographed baseballs, cards, pictures and bats from most Sox players that were with us from 1999-2004. I don’t know that I would collect a specific player unless I had some indication the value would hold like a James or Brady rookie card. Instead, I would invest in high end packs and hope for the best. A card local store owner opened up a box and one card he pulled was a Mac Jones 1/1 autograph card. He got $16K for it. The market seems to be gravitating towards good cards in high end brands, but getting HOF rookie cards is a good investment.
  14. Good, I’m glad they got swept. Change is needed to compete with the rest oF the league. It only happens if Shane Riordan’s prophecy comes true, TLR moves up after the season OR they actually solve the holes in their roster. I disagree with starting another rebuild as some have suggested and instead think they need to retool.

Okay, how would congress or the private sector help these kids? It seems like there is the desire to do something about incentivizing those types of programs when it came to initiatives at community colleges, but there’s probably not agreement in congress to do anything significant about it.
  16. The Tribune did. Column: If the Chicago White Sox don’t make that long-awaited run and qualify for the playoffs, no one should feel safe
  17. Not to forget that they don’t hit home runs or get clutch hits like they did last year. Something is different and I can’t put my finger on it.
  18. Seems like this team leaves on at least 9 every game.
  19. Ball 4. Too many left on base. They suck. I guess we can just hope that they underachieve and changes are coming.
  20. Remember the idiots who said Kopech would replace Rodon, that Rodon would get hurt and that the Sox didn’t need another starter?
  21. He’s done his job for the most part. Fuck the guy next to him who made a face against the Astros and decided to shit the bed when he got here.
  22. I turned the game on, saw the score, saw Lopez throw a wild pitch and then flipped back to watch election coverage. I’ve seen this story before. It doesn’t look like they are coming back.
  23. The numbers don’t lie Tony. Snake oil salesmen do. It doesn’t take a Hall of Fame baseball person to figure that out.
  24. It has to be a leg and not an arm injury if he’s out there pitching?
