  1. Exactly. Last season I couldn’t do that as much because I got to the park at the usual time, like an hour and a half to two hours early, and I couldn’t get into the lots to tailgate. I usually just tailgate with beers and brats outside or just beer outside and buy a pop or beer inside with some food. I don’t know how these people who go to the park and get loaded do it, unless they go broke doing so. I hope there’s better staffing to keep traffic going and gets people to a lot where they can tailgate. There’s better selection there and it might be cheaper than the park or buying online.
  2. I wish they kept Pepsi so I could have the Mountain Dew I crave. What a waste of a goose getting rid of that partnership. Poor goose is gonna end up in a landfill. I prefer Bud Light because it tastes like bananas to me ? but I guess it’s fine that Miller is coming back because Shane Riordan (670 the Score producer and Sox fan) indicated the craft beer selection will still be good. I don’t really care what beer they have as long as I can access a lot that isn’t in lots C or D so I can tailgate and save a shit ton of money at the game.
  3. I’m aware of the kind of move this is, but that still doesn’t change the fact that they need an actual right fielder. The best ones in my lifetime were Ordonez and Dye. Hence the jerking off motion picture. Having said that, at least they added someone like when they had Brian Goodwin last year. And according to our manager we aren’t fans if we criticize them for not getting an actual RF.
  4. My thoughts on any underwhelming move made that doesn’t enhance the team like other contenders would make. We trade for a former first round pick whereas the Astros have Brantley or the Phillies have Schwarber.
  5. Damn this country needs something to talk about. We need more of this: More laughter instead of arguing.
  6. Are we freaking out about Crochet’s outing? Asking for a friend.
  7. They did have a rental last year and gave him a contract extension. Anything is possible.
  8. Lol, the division series. That’s great. I know it’s a Not Bob Nightengale tweet but after what I saw against Houston last year and not having good starting pitching during that series, how can I not be somewhat skeptical of this team? Like I said, if they can’t get quality starting pitching, it won’t matter what their offense and high priced bullpen does. Power rankings do not equal results. If they can’t get beyond the first round again they have to know something is missing.
  9. In terms of the stimulus money doled out over multiple packages or what?
  10. I paid $3.39 a few weeks ago because I get $0.60 off at Mariano’s after spending so much money on groceries and using fuel points. I work from home so I don’t need to fill up much. I’ll probably get $0.60 off again when I fill up again and pay $3.95 instead. What I want to know is why Canada and Mexico can’t pump more oil, unless they are already pumping at capacity. There has to be a way to get more oil from somewhere other than Saudi Arabia, Iran or Venezuela.
  11. It’s not about getting people. I just didn’t understand why multiple threads were created, the only thing that made sense is what Balta said.
  12. I also disagree with you and many others on Bernstein. He’s one of the few reasons I listen to 670 now. He does take on callers that are crappy and he does have some good sports analysis. He tries to understand analytics unlike many others. He is intelligent and keeps his show flowing. As for how he is with Rahimi, he can’t say what he used to stay around her or another host. Look what happened to Mac and you’ll see why he can’t. As for Bernstein and Goff, I didn’t mind the political and SJW stuff, it was a good time for it given who was president, some of the actions being taken by that administration and the issues of the time - Penn State, Michigan State and Kaepernick, along with an audience that called in. They gave it back to people who deserved it and it ultimately did Goff in, pushed Bernstein to mornings and sent Spiegel to the bullpen. One thing I do agree with you on is how there hasn’t been much criticizing aside from the Bears old brass. They definitely don’t criticize the Sox FO enough and I wonder if that is because of the connections some of the hosts have with the Sox.
  13. What purpose would having a fourth thread even serve? I didn’t understand why a second or third was even necessary if people were following along. People are touchy and get defensive. Just because one story may have some truth to it, someone is viewed as being an insider and has instant credibility. I have no problem seeing some questioning of insider information or speculation. Lots of speculation here gets blurred with tweets that don’t turn out to be true. This reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry gets pressured for the tape of a movie he recorded and he says, “That’s it, I can’t work like this, I’m off the job!” Not true.
  14. Without the point about the poster, please tell all of us how Ray was wrong. What they think is best has led to underwhelming results while the rest of the league has made the moves necessary to compete instead of bargain bin shopping (The “I can’t spend $1.00 when I only have $0.50” argument.) Please read the actual analysis and understand why things are being said rather than just dismissing it. What I’m trying to understand is where posters learned you have information. Not because there’s no validity to it, but I never understood if you were tied to the organization, to people close to the talks or if your job somehow had gave you ties to the organization (like a reporter). I guess I’ll have to watch for the tweet next time and figure out the background. The same could be said for anyone else with a connection, like Chisoxfn’s friend who is close to MLB sources. That said, I can appreciate the information.
  15. Starters blew up and Rodon couldn’t really go, which should have been a signal to management that they should have gotten actual starting pitching rather than stretching out relievers to try and fill the void. April 8 is coming and the fact is, there isn’t another starter here from Oakland. And there won’t be a right fielder signing, they are going into the season with a flawed team.
  16. There was nothing flukish about what went on during the season against winning teams and how much they got their asses kicked against Houston in the playoffs.
  17. They are lucky they didn’t do SoxFest this year and that JR doesn’t do public appearances. I always loved when there was a fan challenging KW or RH at the Q&A sessions so we could hear the “hummana hummana hummana” responses or lawyer speak. Maybe Parkins or Spiegel will join a press conference and ask RH a direct question about their lack of a SP or RF and the over emphasis of RP. When the holes become a problem during the season, I’ll be glad to go to a game and hold a sign up that says “The money will be spent” when things are going poorly. It won’t matter, but what will matter is that this team’s ownership and executives don’t care to take this team to the next level with properly allocating resources, filling holes and making the moves necessary to win a championship.
  18. Not as funny as the White Sox attempt at filling holes, that effort is pitifully hilarious!
  19. Clearly some people do. No, but he was at least a starting pitcher before that. Then he needs to prove it as an actual starting pitcher.
  20. Okay so the Sox are “better” than the Astros. What if they drew another AL team in the first round like the Blue Jays or Yankees?
  21. Same. And I am already thinking towards April or May where it doesn’t matter what the pen does because of how the rotation is doing.
  22. No. The flier is Velasquez. Kopech is a wildcard, he may not even be effective as a starter. That’s a question mark and something an organization who cares about winning an actual championship would do something about. Like a trade with Oakland or signing an actual starting pitcher instead of taking a flier. They would also consider needing more depth in the future given Giolito’s possible departure. That’s the concern, the Sox can coast to the playoffs but get trounced by other teams like the Houston treatment they got last year. Okay, that’s fine - April 8 is coming.
  23. A championship run organization would not replace Rodon with a flier or trot out a platoon in right field. I don’t give a damn about “AL favorites” or rankings.
  24. And yet the Sox have holes but unlike a team serious about a championship, are unwilling to fill them. Instead they are being stubborn assclowns.
