QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 08:08 AM) Back in the EARLY 90's, she was one of the sexiest women on the planet. I don't think she is as hideous as a lot of people think but since she has gone wacko, she has gone down hill. Mariah, if you read this, PM me. Fixed it.

    Grammy thread..

I'm convinced that Mariah has "cells" of people around the world that buy up thousands of her CD's on her orders. I can't think of any other reason that she is as big as she is, since I don't know anybody who actually has a liking for her. IMO, she is one of the ugliest people alive, not in looks, but in just "her ways". Nobody comes across as more fake and full of BS than does Carey. She is the Anti-Christ. Actually, I think she is the love-child of Satan and a cabbage patch doll.

I didn't even know they were on until it was over. I'm so proud of myself!!!
  5. QUOTE(bmags @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 02:45 PM) than why did rancids new video have those good charlotte dunces... Doesn't mean they can't become friends with the people they do shows with and that they have been on the road with. Rancid has also helped keep Roger Miret going and he has done backing vocals on more than one Rancid album.
  6. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 11:53 AM) Got this in my email today, thought I would share You Know You Grew Up In The 80's or Early 90's If: 7. You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey on Blossom (only because I was baffled by how such an ugly person got her own TV show) 10. You had plastic streamers on your handle bars... and spokey-dokes or playing cards on your spokes for that incredible sound effect (not just the 80's) 12. It was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons. (this goes for any kid until they killed Saturday mornings in the mid-90's) 13. You wore a ponytail on the side of your head. 22. You know the profound meaning of "WAX ON, WAX OFF" 25. You can remember what Michael Jackson looked like before his nose fell off and his cheeks shifted. 36. You remember "I've fallen and I can't get up" 37. You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates. 43. Don't worry, be happy (what a terrible song) 46. You remember boom boxes and walking around with one on your shoulder like you were all that. 51. You remember Alf, the lil furry brown alien from Melmac. 63. You remember "Where's the Beef?"
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 11:19 AM) I'm only 19 but I found out at a young age that a lot of music from the 90's didn't really interest me. Operation Ivy was really my first love and it got me doing some research and discovering a lot of the great punk bands of the 80's and into the 90's with my all-time favorite in Rancid. I traced Tim Armstrong back to his roots and found a bevy of amazing punk, rock, ska, whatever that was made before I was even born. See, with that attitude, you'll make a bunch of us old guys proud! Tracing the roots, not many people do that. But with a love for Tim, and him having such a huge love of where he came from, any fan of his isn't a true fan unless they look to where he came from. The Punk genre needs more Tim Armstrongs on top. It would sure help the scene from what is happening to it now.
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 09:15 AM) Haha, I didn't even see the first one, that's Do What You Do by GBH you got me on the album though, from what I remember it had to of been released as a single or on a special album because I don't remember it being on any one album in particular. Ooo, you are good! Nice to see that the fans of Rancid also have respect and knowledge of the "old-timers". First true concert I ever saw was Lost Cause opening for The Cro-Mags and GBH. It was the Midnight Madness/Age Of Quarrel tour. You're still fairly young, right?
  9. QUOTE(bmags @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 01:37 PM) you are honestly picking Ticket to Ride over the greatest pop song EVER!?!?!? urghhhh If it had been many, many, many Beatles tunes other than "Ticket", I would have gone with "God Only Knows", but I really love "Ticket". I am not a Beach Boys fan at all (pretty much can't stand them), but "God Only Knows" is an amazing song. But for the record, I'm sick to death of the friggin' Beatles.
  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 10:56 PM) To Understand by GBH off of No need to panic. Too easy. And the first one? I think you might be the only one to have been able to get that one. But the other one should have come just as easy.
  11. Also A cookie to the person who knows the source.
  12. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 05:35 PM) But be sure the music you do eventually use is from Physical Graffitti.
  13. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 11:43 AM) He looks so cuddly. My middle school friend used to have rabbits, and until I met him I never knew anyone that had one. It was then that I found out that bunnies are grumpy and can bite(through your palm) if they dont know you. I've had 15 rabbits in my life. They can be grumpy, and are REAL easy to piss off. But they can also be great pets and are trainable to a litterbox like a cat. One of our rabbits had free run of the house, with two cats and a dog. Tell ya what though, if ol' Herman there decides he doesn't want to be held all of a sudden, and decides to do a "bunny kick", that guy is getting HURT!
  14. There is a little camera trickery there, but that is a HUGE bunny without a doubt! I checked Snopes, and there is nothing on him yet. I'm sure we will soon see that one on there though. But with this being a BBC site, I would have to believe there is a monster bunny out there. He should have toured as a promotional bit for Wallace And Gromit: Curse Of The Were-Rabbit!!!
  15. QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 07:56 PM) ...nitwit...nincompoop...ninny... Nigerian Baptist.
  16. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) He got suspended for 10 days and is back teaching now... But the kid wants him fired. Good to know we also teach "forgivness". The teacher deserves an ass kicking, but the kid could also come out looking much better than saying the teacher should be fired. Vindictive little ni...

    "Gangsta City"

Well, I just watched something that lasted about 5+ minutes and has made me VERY thankful to be heading home in a few hours to a little tiny town. I will be going home and hugging the hell out of my kids (though I do it all the time, this time it will have a little bit of a different reason behind it) and looking around my little neighborhood amd smiling. I also just watched something that further solidifies my understanding of why I don't "get" Gangsta Rap and that whole world, and makes me glad I don't "get" it. That s*** scares the hell out of me, and I am dang glad it does.
  19. I'm just glad these crazy kids over there never opened an issue of Mad Magazine! We need some Tex Avery right now.
  20. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 08:22 AM) Do you wanna touch me?>>> I Love Rock N Roll>>> Bad Rep. Can't really go wrong with Jett. Not sure how much of it she wrote herself, but her music had more balls and testosterone than most music made by men. The Runaways>>>Joan Jett
  21. The Grammy's are the biggest joke in the entertainment industry, even more so than the Oscar's. The problem is that the Grammy's do NOT look for truely great music, they look for big names and big sales. Part of the problem is that there is too many CD's released each year for something like this to keep track of. If I were to put up my list of who I think put out the best "Rock" song last year, pretty much the entire country would sit there and scratch their heads. The Grammy's are nothing more than a way for the record labels to push for more sales, and for the record labels to stroke each other. They make the Oscar's look REALLY good and like they really know what they are doing.
  22. Am I the only person in this world who just does NOT get the Sierra Mist commercials? I could write any of those lame ass things. They rarely make sense, and when they do, they're just dumb. The one where nobody can believe the guy wrote his name on the bottle? I guess the writer of that commercial has never worked in an office. They make Dilbert seem like comedic gold.
  23. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, and Richie Valens died in a plane crash leaving from Clear Lake, Iowa. It was mentioned by Bob Ryan on Around the Horn. I live In Mason City, Iowa which nowadays is only a couple of miles away from Clear Lake. I'm curious, did they move your town closer or something? Tragic day for sure. And only a short time later the RnR world would suffer another horrible loss, one that would change the landscape even further, and that was the death of Eddie Cochran.
  24. That's the way to do it! Nice, I like it all.
  25. I didn't have cable until '91, and by then I was 21, so there was no way in hell I was watching Nick. Was Saved By The Bell on Nick? Bunch of my friends loved that show and always watched it. I no longer speak to those people, BTW.
