  1. In news nobody gives a crap about: Tommy Lee quit Motley Crue: http://www.roadrun.com/blabbermouth.net/ne...ewsitemID=80619 Who ever actually knew Motley was still a functioning band, please raise your hand.
  2. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 11:12 AM) Sidebar. A few weeks back the Ney Yorker ran an article about a condition where people chew off their fingers. Like down to the bone and keep going. Turns out they found a genetic cause of the condition. Cool read if you get the New Yorker. The people need to be restraint. They aldso know what they are doing is wrong and will beg people to not let them out of the restraints. But it's a condition that remedies itself, I would guess. I mean, you can only do it 10 times. Seems the cure is eventual.

    The Office

YES!!! Hour long episodes the first four weeks!!! "I think I dated a black girl."
  4. Dumbest commercial ever. Like I said in another post, there is NO WAY for those guys to have downloaded the song to their phone without knowing what is being said. IT'S THE TITLE OF THE SONG!!! As for proper pronunciation being key to popular music and good music, no it is not. BUT when you are saying "50" is pronounced "Fiddy", you instantly get the "idiot" card, IMO.
  5. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 09:49 AM) probably lots of white people. You mean people of other color don't understand the language and proper pronunciation? That's weird.
  6. Does anybody else hate the fact that he writes it as "50" but pronounces it "Fiddy"? What kind of stupid-a** moron does that? Seriously. Has anybody ever said to him "look, you can call yourself 'Fiddy' if you want, but that number is pronounced FIFty. Quit trying to make kids more stupid, and just call yourself either 'FIFty' or call yourself 'FIDDy' and quit using the numbers you stupid idiot"? Just that little thing is enough to keep me from EVER listening to anything he does. Idiot.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Sep 11, 2007 -> 04:38 PM) that's on the long list of "when the mrs is working" movies. I finally gave up on that list. It's MUCH too long.

    Lyric sites.

Can anybody tell me why websites with lyrics are probably the most corrupt sites on the internet? They seem to be riddled with ads and spyware.

And in the "Beyond Cool" category, I give you the trailer for Iron Man!!! http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/ironman/ Seriously, "Bad Ass" just isn't defined any better than that trailer.
  12. Thanks Kyyle, I just watched it. Good lord, how she rules!!!
  13. QUOTE(bmags @ Sep 9, 2007 -> 10:17 PM) right, nobody would turn into a music award show to see an artist with one of the top singles of the summer. Good point. MTV hasn't been about the music in 20 years.
  14. Spears made it to You Tube yet? I could search, but this was easier.
  15. I have nothing against people who practice the actual act. I have a problem with the people who feel it needs a finger gesture for the unsuspecting public.
  16. QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 9, 2007 -> 11:25 AM) Click and learn, Grampa. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shocker_%28hand_gesture%29 In a strange way I am proud I didn't know that.
  17. QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 9, 2007 -> 11:22 AM) When I go to a show, I want to hear songs I know, at least from the headliner. That's why I'm there. Especially if I'm dumping 70 bucks a head. Just so we're clear, I thought Rush sounded great. Tight, professional, no clunked notes. They just played songs I cared nothing about, for the most part. I'd have been so much happier with the first set being new and rarely-heard stuff and the second set being hit-heavy. My Rushtard friend tells me that he believes (or has heard rumors) that the next Rush tour will be their swansong, and that will be a greatest hits tour. Nonetheless, I think I'm done with Rush on the concert stage. Two excellent, satisfying shows and one excellent sounding, unsatisfying one - that's enough for me. What did the drummer say just before he got kicked out of the band? "Guys, I want to show you some songs I've written". You got that joke off the Geek Board. Trust me, in a band world, the bassist is the guy deserving of getting crap most the time. Especially in the music you and I listen to. Drummers are impossible to come by these days (everybody wants to be the guitarist and vocalist), and in what you and I listen to, bass is the easiest for anybody (including dead people) to do. Most people don't understand what the bass is supposed to be doing in band, and they mimick the guitar riff, which is wrong. Anyhoo, you only only the "Best Of" for Rush, right? I'm thinking they weren't thinking of you when putting their set together. It was a 3 hour show? How many songs did you actually think they were going to play that you may have liked? You admit yourself to liking them, but not loving them. Considering the type of band Rush is, and how they really don't consider themselves "has-beens", nor do their fans, I'm not surprised they did the show they did. As for the swansong tour coming up, I'll believe it when I see it. Do you mean they are calling it quits? Considering Rush is a group of best friends who love playing what they play, I expect they will be around until one of them dies. Atleast is sounded good though, eh? That would have SUCKED had the sound been crap.
  18. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 9, 2007 -> 08:10 AM) In her bra and panties demonstrating her favorite manual stimulation with two of her buddies? Is that what they're doing??? I thought maybe it was gang signs or something. Either I'm old, or you are. Well, we know we both are...but ya get my point.
  19. Wow...what a couple of pieces of s**t.
  20. My boss saw them in Milwaukee the other night. Last time he saw them was the tour for the first album. He says he is now a little sad he never took the time to see them after that, as they were amazing. IMO if they do a bunch of tunes off the new one, that's a very good sign for the bands future. I hate seeing old bands tour in support of their new albums and only doing a couple of songs from it. That tells me that even the band feels their new material can't hold up against the old, such as The Rolling Stones. Plus, in a 3 hour show I would hardly consider playing most of the new album a bad thing. As for it being a show for "Rushtards", who else should they be doing a show for? Maybe I'm in the minority, but I hate bands that do nothing but roll out the "Best Of" sets. Give me a band that knows what its fanbase really wants to hear and gives it to them. If you're just some goof who only knows them for "Tom Sawyer" and "Limelight", then stay home and listen to the "Best Of" CD. Plus, if Rush only rolls out there "hits", then the show will only be a half hour. Drummers not REAL musicians??? Who the hell took over The Critics posting account today??? That whole post is so unlike you man!
  21. LOL!!! That's great!!! The blanket should have been the first solution though.

QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 7, 2007 -> 12:57 PM) Would anyone care if we posted spoilers? One thing that isn't a spoiler, in Carpenters, didn't they show Michaels mom and dad running through the house during the opening scene after he kills his sister? That negates everything in the first act. Don't get me started on the "remake" act. No. Carpenters version ends (the beginning ends) with Mom and Dad getting out of their car and pulling Michaels mask off (from his view) and saying "Michael?", at which point the camera pulls back revealing to us for the first time that it was a kid. That was where the prologue ends. Also, in the first film (the original), Michael and Laurie are NOT brother and sister. That came about in the TV version of Halloween 2 and is something Carpenter even admits to regreting.
  23. Happy Birthday to a great songwriter with a crappy voice! You are the real Bob Dylan...right?
