QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Sep 7, 2007 -> 12:49 PM) I think they actual made that movie with no intention of it being a sequel, but I guess they thought they could make more money if they just called it a sequel. http://www.adriftmovie.co.uk/
  2. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 7, 2007 -> 11:54 AM) This is yet another reason I can't go gay. Could you give us any reasons as to why you could go gay? (liking my eyes is not a good reason)

Anybody see this about the Wachowski Brothers? It seems they will no longer be brothers: http://www.cinematical.com/2007/09/04/the-...rs-are-no-more/
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 6, 2007 -> 03:03 PM) I don't even have to follow the link Come on...you know you want to.
  5. Good Pop songs MUST be tough to write. Every new Pop CD I see has about 20 different people writing all of the songs, and none of them are in the bands!
  6. Maybe Bea will show up for a Strip-O-Gram!!!
  7. Happy birthday to he who kicks ass!!!
  8. I heard this on the North show this morning (before I could throw a CD in so I didn't have to listen to that idiot). He and Fred were having a good ol' laugh about Luciano. It actually pissed me off. I am not a fan of his, nor of opera, but some people in the music world are sacred. The guy will never be equaled in our time. Though, in all honesty, just hearing North pisses me off, so it may have just been that.
  9. My car is paid off and plan to drive it into the ground (it's a PT and I love it dearly, so that will be easy to do). My desktop comp is dying. Luckily it is a slow enough death that I have cleared off the important stuff. I just finished a piece of great cherry pie. My buddy who runs a booking agency is being incredibly tough to contact and I am trying to book a band that is coming into town on the 28th. I've had a summer cold for a couple of days, and it sucks. There is something on TV right now about the wives and girlfriends of NASCAR drivers. Has our nation slid that far that people actually give a damn? I'm going back to watching the Sox game...and working on the 'zine.
  10. ??????? Last seasons team "Westerburg High" (aside from a cool name) were made up of a bunch of one of my best friends buddies. The one guy, Andy, runs numerous trivia nights around Lawrence, Kansas. According to there were numerous levels of tests to pass, each one getting harder and harder. Sorry your wife didn't get on.
  11. O.K., the 160GB is the one I would want. THAT is about the right size.
  12. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Sep 4, 2007 -> 09:48 PM) Sorry if someone has posted this before. Some of these were tough! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPFZl59_OZ4 That is soooooo much better than any game show we have here! (this comment is excluding the World Series Of Pop Culture and Grand Slam)
  13. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 4, 2007 -> 06:43 PM) They did smash a guitar his grandpa gave him when he was little. I'd probably cry too. I'm in the group that thinks this was an incredible and I mean incredible performance he put on. His music is pretty great, but I guess some people will never get over the fact that he's Justin Timberlake. For it has nothing to do with who he is or what group he was in. It's the style of music. Just ain't my thing.

QUOTE(longshot7 @ Sep 4, 2007 -> 05:58 PM) loved Halloween. Ya know, all of the "Film Sites" I hit and I have seen have been tearing it to shreads. All of the other sites, non-film related, are full of people who have enjoyed it.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 4, 2007 -> 05:32 PM) Time to cue up the M*A*S*H theme song Through early morning fog I see visions of the things to be the pains that are withheld for me I realize and I can see... [REFRAIN]: that suicide is painless It brings on many changes and I can take or leave it if I please. I try to find a way to make all our little joys relate without that ever-present hate but now I know that it's too late, and... [REFRAIN] The game of life is hard to play I'm gonna lose it anyway The losing card I'll someday lay so this is all I have to say. [REFRAIN] The only way to win is cheat And lay it down before I'm beat and to another give my seat for that's the only painless feat. [REFRAIN] The sword of time will pierce our skins It doesn't hurt when it begins But as it works its way on in The pain grows stronger...watch it grin, but... [REFRAIN] A brave man once requested me to answer questions that are key is it to be or not to be and I replied 'oh why ask me?' [REFRAIN] 'Cause suicide is painless it brings on many changes and I can take or leave it if I please. ...and you can do the same thing if you please. If you've never heard the Manic Street Preachers cover of that song, you need to search it out right now! One of the greatest covers ever done. When it kicks in it is amazing.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 4, 2007 -> 03:28 PM) Well dang, now I'm completely bummed. The guro of beer, Beer Hunter Michael Jackson passed away. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/obituar...0,3619829.story Jackson's PBS series "The Beer Hunter" was brilliant and it helped me evolve from a homebrewer happy to experiment and stumble along into a beer enthusiast who started considering brewing styles, brewing science, and the historic necessities for doing things a certain way in a certain part of the world. Terribly sad. Beer Hunter HOLY SH*T!!! I wasn't going to have a brew, but in his honor I think I will have to hoist one tonight! RIP to the cool Michael Jackson.
  17. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 4, 2007 -> 02:12 PM) Really, they sound disgusting. The Banana Cream Pie Blizzard is the best They discontinued the Whopper Blizzard. That's just friggin' stupid. As terrible as it might sound, a Nerds and M&M Blizzard is REALLY good. It tastes like chocolate covered raspberries.

The wife and I took the kids to see Underdog the other day. Surprisingly enough it wasn't too bad and had a few moments that were just down right funny. Patrick Warburton was his standard great (if not typical) self. He just does that character so dang well that if you like him, he will always be good. Jason Lee is also just solid as the title character. The reason it is live action, and not a cartoon (or at least as I understood it) was that the cartoon was a show telling the adventures of the real life Underdog. The name the dog is given by the family is actually a nice little way of working in the occupation of Underdog in the cartoon. The critics that matter most in this type of movie (my kids) loved the flick.

  21. QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 4, 2007 -> 12:42 AM) Timberlake is a talented guy whose music I hate. That's about as "fair and balanced" as I can make it. Can't say it any better myself. Other than the fact that it pains me to admit he has talent. A lot of it. He's also supposed to be a pretty down to earth guy, right? I wonder if my friend Cindy is here. She's the biggest Sox fan I know, and a big Justin fan. I never asked if she hit this site. Weird.

    Micro Brews

QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 2, 2007 -> 02:57 PM) I've found that beer snobs are the best kind of snobs because they don't just want to ridicule you for lack of knowledge but want to introduce you to as much as possible and help you learn. Eh, it's the same with anything. I got REAL tired of the beer snob crowd REAL fast. There is a definite superiority complex for a lot of those guys also. I got sick of them snobbering me when I would decide I wanted something not so dang "hoppy" and "malty". God forbid I mention liking a Pilsner every now and then. They all also had heart attacks when I said I was done experimenting. I know what I like, I keep some of it on hand, but I am not going to go out and buy craploads of experimental stuff. One mands Budweiser is another mans Westvleteren. It's all what works for your taste buds. I've been enjoying Newcastle as of late. Not a micro, but a fine beer.
  23. Have a good day shooting speed limit signs in celebration!!! Happy Birthday ya hick!!!
  24. QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 2, 2007 -> 12:16 AM) Valient Thorr kicked my ass tonight. They put on SUCH a great show. Holy f***. http://www.valientthorr.com/ I've been craving cheese burgers ever since that damn show.
  25. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 31, 2007 -> 03:15 PM) Cool, I will have to check that out. I didn't even know he had been killed until a few years after it happened. Hit by a car right? Yup. He was living in Paris and was hit by a car. He felt O.K. after it happened, went home and decided he didn't feel as good as he thought. He decided to sleep it off. Died of internal bleeding. Did you know that as he toured around the world the first thing he would do upon getting into each hotel room was take out a picture of his parents and set it next to the bed. His real name was Steve, but since his dad was a pretty high ranking guy in the Navy he didn't want to cause his dad any grief (his dad is also "Steve"), so he changed it to "Stiv". Everybody who met the guy would go on and on about what an incredibly nice guy he was.
