How wrong is it to admit that I REALLY like the new Matchbox 20 single???
-
I realize, with your saying that, how little I actually listen to American Heartbreak. I also never heard Stevie, and I can't stand Exodus, aside from a humorous cover of "Low Rider".
-
QUOTE(The Critic @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 03:38 PM) ....I did get that Exodus file in my email this morning, AND he's mailing me that CD from The Millions.... B) Oh great...time for you to join the Butler-Buttkissers.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 01:50 PM) Please tell me that pun was intentional. Ach, I wish I could. Sorry.

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Aug 16, 2007 -> 10:54 PM) Another prank is to tape a sign to the drive-thru menu that says something like "Sing Happy Birthday and we'll give you a free hamburger" and then see how many people actually do it. See, now that is kind of funny. QUOTE(shoota @ Aug 17, 2007 -> 08:50 AM) This is an old prank. I remember this from as far back as the early Bam Margera days. Still funny. Are you kidding? Throwing a drink at somebody is funny? Please, explain to me how it is funny? I'm not talking about it being offensive or anything, I just don't get how this is funny. Is it just as funny if I yell "fire in the hole" and throw, say, an apple? Is it the brilliance of throwing a beverage that is funny? Does it matter if it is a carbonated drink, or is a glass of water just as funny? Obviously it isn't the reaction that is so hysterical, as the brave pranksters haul butt as fast as they can. So in theory it would be just as funny to yell "fire in the hole" and throw it as a brick wall. I guess the true comedy of this act is the combination of the words, fire-in-the-hole, and the object being hurled. Seriously, if this is "comedy" then this explains how Steve-O has a career.

This seals it for me, I will never go to work in a mine.

QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Aug 16, 2007 -> 10:47 PM) I routinely know 1 of the 10 or 11 songs listed on this thread. Most of the time, I've never even heard of the artists. I'm so stuck in the mid 80s to early 90s. And even then, it's only the stuff that was popular on the radio. One day I'll post my list, and I'll immediately be chased off the board by Kid Gleason or the Critic. Today, my shuffle consisted of old Tony Kornheiser shows, Brandmeiers latest, selected bits yesterday's Adam Carolla show, and Mac Jurko and Harry. I'm afraid to list any of the music I listen to. Well Critic and I became friends off the this site due to having similar interests in bands, so that is why both of us might throw you for a loop. We are listening to all of the same bands pretty much. Though Critic is a little cooler than me due to his blossoming friendship with Michael Butler. Middle, I have not forgotten that I told you a long time ago I would make you a comp of tunes. You can use MP3's, right? I'll put something together and post it to a link so you can hear some of this junk that Critic and I post.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 16, 2007 -> 07:51 PM) An Example of "Fire in the Hole" Ummm, that's supposed to be funny? Ya know, I know I am getting older, but I didn't think that with age came a loss of understanding humor. What the heck is funny about that?

QUOTE(The Critic @ Aug 16, 2007 -> 07:30 PM) I was trying to paint a picture with words. Empty club, no cheap drinks to draw people in, crappy atmosphere, no one paying attention to the band, all that crap. Tuesday seems to me to be the worst night for live music at clubs. I remember quite a few Thursday night shows, so it didn't seem appropriate to use Thursday. EDIT: I just looked through my ticket stub books and since 1983 I've seen 12 shows on Tuesday nights. Then again, I've only seen 20 Thursday night shows, so maybe Thursday would've worked. You are such a geek! LOL!

But it's Thursday.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 15, 2007 -> 01:26 PM) Unreal. In case you haven't read it, this is from Rolling Stone:

Is anybody else getting to the point where they HATE seeing the name "Aaron Rowand" on these boards...in the paper...everywhere that the White Sox are mentioned? I am just soooo sick of that friggin' guy, and I even like him. But man, can we just get over it all???
-
Both Anthony and Hagar admit that they have no real problems with Roth and that if this band fails again it will be Eddie and not Roth. They both say you know what you get with Roth, and that's just an arrogant ass. But with Eddie you get an unpredictable psychopath.

QUOTE(longshot7 @ Aug 14, 2007 -> 01:46 PM) someone make fun of me - I'm listening to Rush. what is wrong with me? What is wrong with you is that you think it is shameful to listen to Rush.

I guess the VH1 news conference for Van Halen was last night and the tour kicks off next month. Obviously this is still not to be believed until the first note is struck. So, what do you think, have they just been laying low and rehearsing for the past few months, or are they just going to "wing it"? One month from now doesn't seem like a whole heck of a lot of time to launch this thing. DATES: 9/27 — Charlotte, NC @ Bobcats Arena »9/29 — Greensboro, NC @ Coliseum »10/1 — Philadelphia, PA @ Wachovia Center »10/7 — Toronto, ON @ Air Canada Centre »10/10 — Cleveland, OH @ Quicken Loans Arena »10/14 — Indianapolis, IN @ Conseco Fieldhouse »10/16 — Chicago, IL @ Allstate Arena »10/18 — Chicago, IL @ United Center »10/22 — Auburn Hills, MI @ Palace of Auburn Hills »10/24 — Minneapolis, MN @ Target Center »10/26 — Kansas City, MO @ Sprint Center »10/28 — St. Louis, MO @ Scottrade Center »10/30 — Boston, MA @ TD Banknorth Garden »11/3 — East Rutherford, NJ @ Continental Airlines Arena »11/13 — New York, NY @ Madison Square Garden »11/20 — Los Angeles, CA @ Staples Center »11/23 — Glendale, AZ @ Jobing.com Arena »11/25 — San Diego, CA @ Cox Arena »11/27 — Sacramento, CA @ Arco Arena »11/29 — San Jose, CA @ HP Pavilion »12/1 — Portland, OR @ Rose Garden »12/3 — Seattle, WA @ Key Arena »12/5 — Vancouver @ GM Place »12/9 — Edmonton, AB @ Rexall Palace »12/11 — Calgary, AB @ Pengrowth Saddledome Interesting things in the VH1 article: The 25 song set-list was picked by Wolfgang. That could actually be a cool thing, bringing out songs that the band might not think to play. Valerie Bertanelli was in the audience for the announcement. Maybe this means that Eddie is clean and has his head screwed back on.

My wife and I finally finished watching all of the Six Feet Under seasons last night. She didn't like the final episode. SPOILER. Well, she loved it until they got to the deaths, and she was really disappointed to see how Keith died. She thought the show should have ended at the dinner table with them all thinking about Nate. My thought was that whereas Everybody Loves Raymond was a show about life and ended perfectly with that one just continuing on, this was a show about death and should have ended with death, as it did. I liked the ending though.

Shoot. I got all excited thinking that somebody was making one of the greatest comic books ever made into a movie: Dinosaurs For Hire

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 13, 2007 -> 11:19 AM) I cant airbrush that out of my mind, no matter how hard i try I agree 100% with you. I just find it silly if anybody actually thinks they can't make her "hot" in looks again (if you ever found her "hot").
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 13, 2007 -> 11:15 AM) C-section scars are hot. air-brush

I would also rather have the beer. It's old, and thereby kind of cool for that fact alone.
-
Do you guys really think the Playboy airbrush artists couldn't make Brit look like the Brit people always fantasised about? Those people do wonders with average looking women on a daily basis. You do know that NOBODY in the magazine actually looks like you see, right?

QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 10, 2007 -> 09:16 AM) btw, we have a whole thread of these . . . Of what, video of people acting like they are playing with themselves? Huh, and we don't want another "Hot Chick" thread? I need to re-think my message boards.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 10, 2007 -> 08:22 AM) Idiot of the day. Who in their right mind, while driving intoxicated and on a suspended license, decides to try to run a person they know is a cop off the road? Um, call me crazy, but he's an idiot for just thinking it's O.K. to run anybody off the road, cop or not.

QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Aug 9, 2007 -> 11:05 PM) I need a job so i figure i'd run it past my online family! Which place should i work at? Best Buy Circuit City Dicks Sporting Goods Or suggest something! Best Buy. My nephew has been on the Geek Squad for a few years, and just recently is the first time I've heard anything negative out of him about it. I hate Circuit City though. I'm also not much of a sports guy...so what the heck do I know about Dicks?
