  1. Colson HR, again. He's 3-4.
  2. Umberger continues to look great: 6IP, 1ER (sixth inning solo shot), 5H, 0BB, 9K.
  3. Naturally, while I was watching for the inevitable to happen in Kannapolis, Charlotte decided to walk themselves off. Walking in both the tying and winning run for the other team (with two outs!) is quite the bold strategy. Didn't work out for them. Barons got shutout, and WS lost 6-2. Gross day.
  4. Didn't post updates on the Kanny game despite the fact that they led 7-0 after 3 innings because I suspected they'd still find a way to lose it. And lose they did. Score was 8-3 after 6 innings, and 9-9 after 8. The tying run was a double steal of home. They stranded a runner at second with 1 out top 9, and got walked off on a walk>WP>single sequence, because of course they did. They were a game up for the first half title with a few days left, and have proceeded to play some of the most un-timely, anti-situational baseball I've ever seen...and I watched the 2024 White Sox. They are riding a 11L now, and have just been completely unable to put together a complete game of baseball for going on two weeks despite some individual successes. It's at the point where you can just see the moment the "here we go again" sets in every game.
  5. Iriarte in June (since AZ trip): 10IP, 1ER, 5H, 5BB, 14K. Still a little wild at times, but tough to argue with a <1 ERA/WHIP through 7 outings.
  6. Another solid line from McDougal in his second AA start: 5IP, 1ER (a solo shot), 3H, 2BB, 5K. Gus Varland had a solid 2K rehab inning for Charlotte. Wouldn't be surprised to see him in Chicago in a few weeks.
  7. Knights in rain delay, leading 1-0 after 3 innings (Colson RBI single). I assume he's probably done with the weather, but Cannon looked healthy. 3IP, 1H, 1BB, 2K. Velo seemed normal, threw a few bad misses.
  8. 0-2 to a BB on a .176 hitter does not spark joy
  9. Full episode is worth a listen for some more pitching development insights
  10. Baldwin hits #10
  11. Imagine telling an AL Central fan from a few years back that these two guys would have <.200 BA and <.600 OPS in late June.
  12. Luis Reyes has pitched very well in June so far: 19IP, 1ER, 4BB, 12K across 3 starts. The one run was a solo shot.
  13. The first and last pitch thrown by the White Sox in this series were both 97mph Grant Taylor fastballs.
  14. 1-38 when trailing after 7 is wild
  15. Eisert showing off after the Jay's failed their PFPs
  16. Unusual mixup in the Knights game. Schweitzer was coming in to relieve Chase Plymell, but the HP ump ejected him mid warmups because apparently he couldn't find him on the roster? He was on the development list briefly, but the transactions log shows him being activated yesterday. Anyway, Knights are up 4-0 after 4 behind 2 run shots from Julks and Lee.
  17. Some absolutely baffling calls behind the plate today
  18. Good recovery from Civale, all things considered.
  19. Sox came into today with a 4.20 team ERA and a -69 run differential and I need someone other than me to be aware of this NICE statistic
