FanGraphs BaseballTristan Peters Has Gone BananasUnheralded as a prospect, the former Savannah Banana has earned All-Star honors and tied a rookie record while helping the White Sox to an historic turnaround.Good deep dive on Peters, who is up to 3rd for rookie position player fWAR. One thing that stood out to me: through his two seasons in AAA (both with a larger sample size than this year to date), he has consistently outperformed his expected xBA/xSLG/xwOBA by around the same margins. Some guys just beat their projections, usually through some combination of speed, lift, and pull (Peters is up to 89th percentile pull air% with 85th percentile speed). So for Banana Bonds believers, the much feared regression at the plate might not actually be breathing down his neck as much as some predict.

CLE's remaining schedule: A 13-13 finish would get our Sox to 85 wins. Guards would have to go 16-9 to match it. It's certainly possible, but I think it's a tough ask. Hopefully the Sox make it even tougher with some extra wins over the next two weeks.

"Feast or famine" would imply that they score below that as often as they score above it, which isn't true. They put up an above average number of runs at a top 3 rate. They score a below average number of runs at a below average rate. They are an above average offense by every metric of production. They have scored the most runs in the AL. Folks are just annoyed when they don't score (as every fanbase is) so they imagine it happens more often than it does. Same as every fanbase thinking their team never hits rookie pitchers or always gets burned by the 9 hitter.

They've won the most after 3 (or more) 100+ loss seasons, but absolutely not after 1. Even within the last few years, Baltimore won 91 in 2024 after losing 101 in 2023.
