  1. You can see his confidence building in real time
  2. The sun does not look fun out there
  3. Such a weak swing Vargas has
  4. 107mph, 409ft
  5. WS home broadcast followed this up by echoing my own thoughts on how much more dynamic this offense is compared to previous years. And then DePino hit a HR lol
  6. Really like what Braden and Zavala have been doing lately.
  7. Been a little bit since WS has had this much pop in the lineup, though the real test of Birmingham's low scoring environment awaits these guys.
  8. Shane Smith righting the ship with 5+ scoreless, 1 H, 2 BB, 5K. He did come out for the 6th but seemed a bit fatigued and got pulled after two HBPs. Before that, the fastball was looking more in line with his past performance. Maybe he gets one more start down there, but I doubt they'll hold him back too much longer.
  9. Maybe a regulation win if they don't get screwed out of an inning, but plenty of missed chances to score outside of that. Just can't come up empty with that top 11, though they showed some fight to make it there in the first place. Colson says he talks to Mune about approach as a lefty slugger, would love for some selectiveness to rub off on him. Tough luck loss for Sims. Rubber match might just come down to who has fresher arms available, another way in which that fake DP bailing Severino out hurts.
  10. That's better than a bunt anyway
  11. They don't have the arms available for extended extra innings anyway, so I get taking their shot with speed in the 9th. Vargas needed a productive AB to follow it up though. If Mune's spot comes back up, it should mean they scored top 10.
  12. Would love to see Pereira come through here after getting screwed earlier
  13. Needed that contact to the right side earlier when he had chances to advance a runner on 2nd
  14. I don't see how that gets overturned
  15. The annoying part is that they'd probably have a couple more if not for that stupid call earlier
  16. He came out to get an explanation but didn't make a fuss about it
  17. Feels like the kind of thing you might get an umpire huddle to overturn even if they can't go to replay for it. Just an obviously wrong call with major implications.
  18. From what I can tell, Mets fans (obviously) love having a free spending owner who says all the right things about competing but Stearns has been getting some heat from those who expected more/better names this offseason. The team should still be better than they are, even with Soto's injury. Mets fans seem increasingly out on the manager, but Stearns isn't (yet). Clock's gotta be ticking though.
  19. Can't challenge fair/foul on balls that don't pass 1B/3B ump, so nothing Will can do. But it's ridiculous to get that call wrong in the first place.
  20. Was that not obviously fouled off Pereira's foot?
