  1. Should get picked up quickly.
  2. Hope they're right, but his last pitch was a 92.7mph 4S...
  3. Top 3 days for HRs the season are all the last 3 (34, 34, and 36 from April 10-12). Today might be on track to beat that pace with 28 HR already (despite a smaller slate, most games still in progress, and 2 yet to start)
  4. Crochet getting absolutely shelled by the Twins. 10 runs before recording an out in the 2nd. Not the best defense behind him, but also his velo is down a tick. Boston broadcast wondering if he's tipping too. Gets pulled after 11 runs in 1.2IP. 9 hits, 2 HR, 3 BB, 1 HBP. Career high 10 ER.
  5. Just had another pitcher leave with injury today too. They are on a 7L streak for the first time since 2019 despite leading the league in runs scored/being second in team OPS...because they are last in team ERA. Plus Katz is there now. Could definitely see HOU being his landing spot.
  6. Things you like to see:
  7. Sammy staying hot with a 2-4 night. Murphy with 6 scoreless. He's due for a longer look at the next level, not much left for him to show in Birmingham.
  8. Perhaps another name on the way?
  9. McDougal looking great through 4. Might need one of these arms to learn how to hit at this rate though
  10. Good listen on Schultz.
  11. Seemed like he found something in the second half and he's a hard worker. Rooting for him.
  12. They said before the season that he would be kept to ~3 inning starts for a while so that he can finish the season in Chicago with less restriction.
  13. 2.25 team ERA over the last 8, but a 4-4 record in that time. Averaging 4 runs/game in the wins and just 1.5 runs/game in their losses. They have pitched more shutouts (2) in their last 6 games than they have hit HRs (0). Gonna guess none of these trends hold up over the remaining 91% of the season.
  14. Jensen's gonna be a good one if they stop sticking him to the bench
  15. Different look today vs. a lefty starter. Kinda into it. Martin threw his sinker way more than usual last time out and really cut back on the changeup. Curious to see if that was a Toronto matchup thing or a longer term shift that he'll keep for KC's LHBs too.
  16. So it sounds like it's a price thing for Gio, which is better than it being a health thing. But man, I really wonder what he thought he'd get in FA when he turned down that $19m. Lots of pitching injuries early though, feels like he'll get some incentive-heavy deal eventually.
  17. Forgot to throw this in yesterday's thread, but congrats to Kay for his first MLB win since June 24, 2021! McGuire was his battery mate that day. Semien and Bichette were his middle IF pairing. Also the Sox first win in KC since September 6, 2023. Vaughn and Moncada went yard, Elvis Andrus went 4-5, Touki Toussaint threw a quality start, and Bryan Shaw got the save. First shutout @ KC since May 17, 2022 in the first half of a DH. Cease (5.2IP), Bennet Sousa, Joe Kelly, Jose Ruiz, and Liam Hendriks (S) combined for the shutout. Abreu (2) and AJ Pollock knocked in the runs. Oddly enough, McGuire caught that one too. So Kay's last two wins were caught by McGuire and Quero years apart, and the Sox last two shutouts in Kauffman were also also caught by McGuire and Quero years apart. Baseball.
  18. Kay a little feisty lol No reason for Cags to think it was intentional though.
  19. Sox and KC now tied at 5-8, both ahead of Detroit at 4-9. Road record is 2-5 for the season. Sox for the second time this year end a skid at 3. By this time last year, they had already had an 8 game loss streak (they had a 4L and 5L at this point in 2024). Win #5 comes on April 9th this year (April 20th in 2025, April 27th in 2024). The date to beat for #6 is April 24th. Team ERA over the last 7 games is 2.25 (18 total runs allowed). Second shutout in that stretch. Probably should get more than a 4-3 record out of that if they could start hitting some HRs again.
  20. This is why pitchers don't challenge
