  1. I also found it very interesting that Aardsma wasn't mentioned. No mention of Tracey either. In my opinion, if Charlie isn't going to be in the rotation for the Sox, he will head the rotation for the Knights again. I am a fan of our bullpen, but never thought I would have to hear the name Boone Logan again... this concerns me.
  2. Please Help me... This is a team I am taking over in a 14 team keeper league... I must keep 15 major league players, and I can keep up to 3 of my minor league players. 3. NUUUUUUUUUKE, Stay safe. You're in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you and all the other troops.
  4. Hey all... figured I'd come here first as I know alot of folks on here. I participate in a MLB Fantasy Keeper League. It is a ten team league that is going into its 7th year. There are ten owners... each team can keep up to 8 players (with a minimum of keeping 6). The league is run through ESPN (which is free this year). Roto Scoring, yada yada yada. Anyways... we are looking for two new owners. One guy has decided to hang it up, and another guy just stopped being active. We are looking for truely active owners that have AOL IM that are online alot to talk trades. Our league is well represented from guys in New York, to Chicago, to Minny, to Denver, to El Paso and so on. If you are looking to get into a highly competitive/active keeper league... please shoot me a PM or AOL IM me. Thanks, JD AOL IM: JarrodD22

Dwight is still around... but rumor is he is going to be out of the office for awhile. There are reports all over the net that "The Office" was filming at a Staples awhile back... Dwight was working there. This should be a pretty funny angle.
  6. I will keep your family in our prayers... please keep us updated.
  7. This game is so great to watch... I feel bad for these teams fans... I'd be throwing up with nervousness right now.
  8. I will step up to the plate and say OU Coach Bob Stoops is the Best Coach in College Football. Thanks, Have a Good Night.
  9. Just got back into town... have been thinking about this trade while driving in the car all day and night. I absolutely love this trade. I really think Danks is gonna be special... but I think Masset will be a very solid pitcher as well. oh by the way... I like the idea of Gavin Floyd on the Sox too. Not a homer... just a fan of stockpiling stud young pitchers.
  10. I saw in this thread Masset being talked about as strictly a Pen Guy. While that is where he was penciled in for Texas, don't be suprised if the Sox make him a starter. I have a family member involved in another MLB organization, and he made mention to me that they really wanted Masset (to make a starter).
  11. Twins sign former Royal Ken Harvey to a minor league contract. http://www.startribune.com/509/story/863159.html
  12. I voted for Bobby... simply because when it comes to World Series Champions... the play they will show till the end of time is always the final out. So if not Bobby, then my vote goes to Juan.
  13. a few days ago it was being reported that KW was talking contract extensions with either Freddy or Mark... this leads me to believe that (if it was Freddy) KW didn't like the way the conversation went.
  14. Welcome Back Scott! Now hit the ball.
  15. Well... I just want to go on record saying I want to keep Crede. I want no part of trading him.

  17. The Score is now starting to talk Sox Trade Rumors in their updates. Offman is saying talks are going on between the Sox and Angels centered around Crede and Garcia for Figgins, and E. Santana. Not saying this is going to happen... just stating what I am hearing.
  18. Thoughts from Rotoworld, that I tend to agree with: Another deal that's just too long. Catalanotto is a nice player, but he doesn't have any defensive value, he doesn't hit lefties and he's never played in more than 133 games in a season. His highest OPS in the last five years is an 823 mark and that's with him sitting out against most southpaws. We could see giving him the long-term deal if he's cheap enough to turn into a bench player in 2009, but odds are that won't be the case. Locking him up for three years just to be an average designated hitter is a bad strategy. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Nov 19, 2006 -> 11:01 PM) I don't think this is such a "crazy" deal. $4-5 mil per doesn't look like bad value as long as Catalanotto gets 400+ abs each year. Always gets on base, not too many hrs, but makes up for it with a high average and enough doubles. Good signing. Plus, I always think of him as a Ranger, anyway. Knowing that we need to add another OF to our Starting OF... these are the only decent options out there via Free Agency Drew, JD Dellucci, David Guillen, Jose Matthews, Gary Payton, Jay Pierre, Juan Roberts, Dave Stewart, Shannon
  19. According to the Dallas Morning News, Frank Catalanotto's three-year deal with the Rangers will be worth at least $13 million. There's also an option for a fourth year. Catalanotto could play left field for the Rangers, but he'd be better utilized as a DH if the Rangers decide to bring back Brad Wilkerson or look for someone else to replace Carlos Lee. He'll also be a candidate to replace Gary Matthews Jr. in the leadoff spot. Source: Dallas Morning News I just want to state again... It is crazy what average players are getting paid this off season. YIKES
  20. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 17, 2006 -> 11:38 AM) We've cloned BMac? Well I'll be, trade him twice and keep the 3rd one, I like it! LOL... gimme a break. I meant to say BA, and BMAC
  21. Put me down for wanting to trade the farm for Andruw Jones. I wouldn't care if it costs McCarthy, BMac, and another mid-level prospect. Andruw Jones is a special player.
  22. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 08:41 PM) Riske is better than Aardsma and Riske had a batter 2006 season than Aardsma. Aardsma's "good stuff" is a good, but not great fastball and no decent second pitch. He was up and down last year, including a very good September and a horrible August. That one good month doesn't fill me with optimism. How is a 96-98 MPH Fastball not great? Aardsma also has a sinker, slider, curve and change. Just come clean and confess this isn't about Aardsma... it is about a man crush on Cotts.
  23. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 08:38 PM) Granted, the statistical evidence on Aardsma isn't voluminous, but what there has been isn't very impressive. Nor is his one good, but not great pitch. And I don't think Cotts is a world beater, but he's a lefty who has managed one great season in his brief major league career. That is one more than Aardsma. Oh... and if you are gonna live on stats (4.67 era in August), dig deeper before you base your arguement. That 4.67 ERA was due to one bad night of 5 ER in a game against the Cardinals.
  24. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 08:36 PM) We should be optimistic about this guy because he had a good September after an August where he had a 4.67 ERA? And I don't put much weight in the amateur scouting reports of fans who are "impressed with his stuff", etc. Do you know how many AAA pitchers have impressive stuff but can't pitch particularly well in the majors? By the way, his impressive stuff is one pitch. It's not like every trade KW makes is a great one. You my friend should change your name to Scrooge. From your FIRE OZZIE tag... to the love connection with Neal Cotts, I conclude you are unrepairable. Take Care.
