Pods = All Star
I told my two assistants in my office that I would let them have a half day on Friday if they each voted 100 times a day (not during work... LOL) for Pods. Come on people... everyone do your part.

Jenks heading to Chicago..
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 10:43 PM) Just make sure he sits next to Politte and Hermanson. Stay away from Vizcaino and Walker. You don't want to catch whatever it is they have. Viz doesn't deserve to be lumped with Kevin Walker.

Jenks heading to Chicago..
Ozzie said there was no need for the 5th starter, so why not add to the bullpen.

Jenks heading to Chicago..
What if Jenks is heading to the majors in a trade. What did they say at the Barons Game? What if they said Jenks was heading to the show... and its being assumed it is with the Sox. Hmmm..

4th of July Game Thread Sox vs. DRays
Wondering if Jenks is being included in a possible deal. What if the Barons announced Jenks was heading to the Majors... and we are just assuming it is with the Sox.

4th of July Game Thread Sox vs. DRays
QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 09:38 PM) Ozzie and Kenny wont put up with much of this anymore. Trust me Walker will be gone by tomarrow. The Scout who told them to sign Walker should be gone too.

Interview Over. Topic Never brought up.

TRADE THREAD II ~ July 2 - July 8
On a related note, Rosenthal's biggest all star snub was Podsednik. Good to see Scott getting some love.

TRADE THREAD II ~ July 2 - July 8
As of right now, they haven't said a word about it... I wouldn't be surprised if Chet doesn't even bring it up.

TRADE THREAD II ~ July 2 - July 8
Rosenthal on now. Hopefully we get some things cleared up.

Bret Boone
I would not be surprised to see him end up on the Twins. With that being said, my prediction is that Boone goes to the Padres.

What do you EXPECT from BMac tonight?
I am not looking for this to be a bash BMac thread, or even a Future Sox Defend The Star topic... I just want to know what everyone expects out of this outing tonight. Not what you hope for, but rather what you think will happen. I expect Less that 5 innings pitched, +5 ER, 4 BB, 1 K.

Brewers/Twinks game
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 05:20 PM) 3-0 Twins in the first with Santana on the mound. This game's over early. Say What? PRINCE FIELDER BABY! Fielder with a 3 run homer give the Brew Crew a 7-5 Lead in the 6th.

Is Anyone else watching the Yanks vs. Rays?
The Tampa Bay Devil Rays are teeing off on the Big Unit. Johnson just doesn't have the blazing fastball that he use to have. Hey Steinbrenner... Have fun with that contract.

McCarthy
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I must say, I respectfully disagree with your analysis of Dye in the outfield. He has no range, has struggled throwing the ball this season, and doesn't seem to have good instincts in the outfield. Thankfully, Rowand is a good outfielder, but he's surrounded by some very overrated defensive players in LF and RF. Rowand > Dye> Podsednik

McCarthy
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 10:22 PM) Dye's defense has been nothing but disappointing all season. I'm pretty confident in saying that Ordonez would have made Teahan's blooper look like a pretty routine, difficult catch with his little knee-first slide he used to do. If you watch the replay, that ball landed underneath Dye, not in front of him. Thankfully, Dye has been sensational at the plate lately. He sure has the ability to make the Cell look small when he bats. I feel Dye is an above average right fielder, and feel he has done a good job for us out there. Other than the missed catch in Oakland, and not hitting the cutoff man early in the season... I like what I have seen.

McCarthy
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) LMAO I was at the game Dye and that was a HORRIFIC jump on the ball. He stood there for a good amount of time trying to track the ball. It looks all nice and cut when he dies but that was a horses*** jump and if you deny that you weren't watching. I think Dye busted his tail after reading the ball... but there was no way he was gonna catch that ball unless he came running in right when the ball left the bat. Not easy to tell the ball was fisted out there. I think Dye gave good effort on that ball, and if people want to blame him for those BMac runs that is B.S. I just hope BMac learned something from tonights game. Best of luck in the future BMac.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 10:07 PM) BMac actually pitched pretty well tonight until the 5th inning. Dye got a horrible jump on a ball that cost him 2 runs. Dye did an amazing job to make that play even look close. I am not sure how the play looked on TV, but I was at the game... and it was just a lucky hit.

OVERRATED!

What do you want/expect out of BMac tonight?
What do you want/expect to see out of BMac tonight. Granted he is playing the Royals, but the Royals are playing good baseball right now. I expect to see 6 innings pitched, 5 runs. I hope I am wrong, but this is just the feeling I have for BMac right now.

Calling all umpires........
Here is the section discussing this matter from the MLB Rules Book. One base shall also be awarded if the pitcher while in contact with the rubber, throws to a base, and the throw goes directly into the stands or into any area where the ball is dead. If, however, the pitched or thrown ball goes through or by the catcher or through the fielder, and remains on the playing field, and is subsequently kicked or deflected into the dugout, stands or other area where the ball is dead, the awarding of bases shall be two bases from position of runners at the time of the pitch or throw. I am not sure why Pods was allowed to go to third.

Report: Brandon McCarthy to Start on Monday
I am really worried about this spot in the rotation. I don't think Mcarthy is A) Ready for the Bigs, and B) As good as people think. I really hope he shows me up, but I don't like the direction this is heading.
