  1. "in this world, nothing can be said to be certain, except death and second winter" -ben franklin, perhaps
  2. Thanks, Lip Man. Love these posts, glad you're doing them. Get a little wiser every day reading them.
  3. Can't wait. A little before my time, but he's such an interesting dude and I can't help but root for any bespectacled ball player. One of four MVPs who wore glasses. First in the AL.
  4. Always love these spring training interviews and this is probably my favorite one. Huge fan of Edgar. Seems like a really smart dude, dedicated to improving and taking the right steps to do so, and I'm also really impressed by his English. No judgment to players who don't learn English, but doing a 20 minute interview in a second language with no translator is no small feat. What stuck out to me is Chuck talking about "light at the end of the tunnel", an idiomatic expression that doesn't exactly translate, and Edgar not missing a beat. I hate that my two favorite players on this team play the same position and there isn't necessarily an alternative position for them. Thought an extra interesting insight to this interview is that Sox pitchers aren't going to be calling for ABS reviews, that the catchers will. That may be standard across the league, but I think both of our catchers have shown an excellent command of the strike zone. It's gonna be a fun year watching those guys compete for the starting catcher job. Teel was the better framer, Quero is picking off guys like a motherfucker. Teel was a better hitter his rookie season, but Quero looks like he'll inevitably figure it out.
  5. our boy likes malort...but why did he call it "bottom shelf" also, off topic, any idea if that hat McDougal is wearing is for sale anywhere? probably the coolest Sox hat I've seen.
  6. This is incredible. It's like 4 different instances. Also talking about "well, Ronald is good at baseball, it's in the blood" ☠️☠️☠️ Didn't like this trade to begin with, but this commentary is just weird and disappointing.
  7. well, my thinking is "over 9000" so I guess I voted 50+.

  9. I heard polio was a conspiracy
  10. I don't hate it. Depends on the dollar amount I guess. I can't imagine it's much. I think it's implied it's a MLB deal.
  11. Fair enough. I just thought this thread was amusing lol. Like why is the Winston-Salem Dash tweeting about their players' butts
  12. Who says I’m annoyed? I’m indifferent to the bidet. I used one when I went to Japan. Interesting novelty but seemingly pointless. Your butt doesn’t need water to make it clean. If you get s%*# on your arm or face, it’s a different matter. You’d use soap too. No one’s soaping up their butthole I suspect. I’d echo that other guy’s point that if your asshole is a fuckin mess after the fact, a change in diet will be more beneficial than a stream of water.
  13. I’ve seen a few threads in my life and this is definitely one of them.
  14. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2026/02/dodgers-designate-anthony-banda-for-assignment.html?utm_source=twitter Anthony Banda DFA'd. I'd love it if we could pick him up, lefty with solid recent ERAs and way more deserving of a roster spot than say Tyler Gilbert
  15. Like Ramos on the Cards though. He actually has a path to playing time there.
  16. That was such a low moment but frankly an example of how bad/how naive these organizations are. Because the fans were obviously going to boo anyone or anything to do with Jerry Krause and they never should have put that poor woman in that position. Anyone with two brain cells could've told you that.
  17. Frank seems unhappy. Whole thing has me reminiscing about this one:
  18. Adding on: it’s a very short ride from the intermodal station. Highly recommend taking Amtrak Hiawatha Service.
  19. the royals signed alex lange and lane thomas, extended maikel garcia...obviously a much better offseason than the sox. these grades are dumb. the cubs at an 'a' is laughable.

Maybe. Nothing wrong with that. Which is why I say hopefully it’s a coincidence. Because an athlete quoting Paul to denigrate gay people is quite ironic. Corinthians 9:25 and all.
  21. Yeah I wish I went. Anything interesting you heard?
  22. Exactly what I’m drinking while reading this post. Except they ran out of Old Style. Good man. Did anyone go to SoxFest?

I'm intrigued, give the kid a shot, I just think we're really gonna miss Luis's glove and Mullins replaces 90% of it at a fraction of the cost. Still like that Astros dude Jake Meyers as a medium term replacement in CF. Wouldn't give up a real SP asset for him though and I think HOU stopped shopping him. Next guy I'd look at is Brenton Doyle but I think the Rockies give him at least another year. I think CF is this team's biggest weakness going forward. The prospects we might expect in the next couple years look like fine corner outfielders, the best outfield prospect who looks like a CF is 19-year-old Marcelo Alcala and I sure hope we're competitive before he debuts.
