  1. Jerry Reinsdorf has been the controlling owner of the Chicago White Sox since January 1981 and the Chicago Bulls since 1985. You mentioned him spending during the time Chuck mentioned, as well as the MJ years. That tells most of the story.
  2. I just thought it was funny considering he was just about the perfect player for the Mets to give up considering their roster and that he was out of options.
  3. The Mets did not want to give him up…
  4. Not at two years and this price…
  5. Oh yeah, they got the 69th pick in the 2024 draft and Santos couldn’t stay healthy.
  6. And the not so good trades… Santos Cease Houser Robert
  7. Good video reference. Luckily, Garfien actually worded it correctly. ”In 2022, they had a payroll over $180 million dollars. The problem was how they spent the money and who they spent it on.” Acting like spending money is bad is ridiculous.
  8. That’s possible. It’s close. If Meidroth truly has no SLG like Madrigal, he’s a utility backup. Hopefully, Carlson can develop into a good 2B/CF since I assume Colson will be at 3B and Roch will be our SS. Maybe you cover 2B and CF with Acuna and Carlson.
  9. If you can’t play LF, you shouldn’t even be in the MLB.
  10. Haha, his wife probably smacked him out of his stupidity to leave $43 million on the table.
  11. I liked B&B. Bernstein without Boers was not good. RIP.
  12. One thing I noticed about Hays is that his defense must have declined a lot the past couple years. Even with his good offensive production, his WAR was pretty low last year.
  13. I will give Getz credit. He lost at the right time and the Sox now have a chance at a franchise stud SS. He is also not spending much money, whether that is by his own choice, or due to Jerry, or both. But when/if this rebuild starts improving the team and Ishbia takes over hopefully as early as possible, he will have so much flexibility to spend money, I can’t see how the Sox shouldn’t improve quickly.
  14. I meant more cuz he moved Benintendi to DH. I wouldn’t be surprised if Getz signs another outfielder.
  15. I’d like to subscribe to your newsletter.
  16. Can Kelenic play CF or is he terrible defensively? I don’t know much about him other than looking at his Baseball Reference page which shows he played 159 games at CF with 147 starts in his career. The thought of Hill staying at Charlotte is nice if they have 4 outfielders that could potentially play CF at any moment in Acuna, Pereira, Baldwin, and Kelenic.
  17. There are are enough outfielders still looking for a job, I think you are right. But I don’t even think they will need to spend $5 million.
  18. I wonder how much Hays will even get at this point. It’s getting close to ST and so many guys haven’t signed yet and don’t seem to have much leverage. I could see Tauchman having to take a minor league deal at this point.
  19. He is, and has been in his career.
  20. He’s probably the only decent OF left since Bader will be overpaid. Not sure if Hays would be worth signing though. He seems pretty injury prone like Tauchman. If he comes cheap, sure.
