Andrew Vaughn is Officially a Bust
I doubt he ever signs another contract for as much as the Sox gave him through arbitration this year — $5.85 million.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
I don’t either, otherwise Getz would have, or should have, accepted the offer (De Paula and Outman) immediately.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
To me, De Paula alone would be a haul considering how low Robert has devalued himself with poor performance and injuries. Outman would just be a throw-in but I’d rather see him in the OF over Palacios, Taylor, and Jones.

Here’s what I found. It is a draft lottery for the top 6 picks. I was wrong and the Sox wouldn’t automatically get the 1st pick, but finishing with the worst record in baseball would increase their chances of getting the #1 pick and a higher pick overall. “The MLB draft order is determined by a combination of factors, including a lottery for the first six picks, reverse order of regular season records for non-playoff teams, and postseason finish for playoff teams. Here's a more detailed breakdown: 1. Draft Lottery: The first six picks are determined by a lottery, where teams that didn't make the playoffs are assigned odds based on their previous season's record. The team with the worst record doesn't automatically get the top pick; the lottery ensures a degree of randomness. 2. Reverse Order of Standings: For the remaining picks (7-18), the draft order follows the reverse order of the previous season's standings among non-playoff teams. 3. Postseason Finish: Once the lottery and non-playoff teams have picked, the 12 postseason teams take their turns in order of their elimination in the playoffs, with the World Series champion picking last. 4. Additional Factors: Revenue sharing status and competitive balance picks can also affect the draft order.”- 4/13 game thread vs Boston 1:10 first pitch
This year, the Sox will get the #1 pick in the 2026 draft if they finish the season with the worst record.- Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
Getz pretty much has until the trade deadline to trade Robert, unless you think Jerry is actually going to approve picking up his $20 million dollar option for next season. Salary is being cut from the payroll year after year so it’s pretty apparent that he won’t be back.- 4/13 game thread vs Boston 1:10 first pitch

I’d love one of those Steve Stone bobble heads to use for target practice.- 4/13 game thread vs Boston 1:10 first pitch
LOL, Schriffen actually asked Stone if Vaughn should get the green light to swing on 3-0. What a moron.- 4/13 game thread vs Boston 1:10 first pitch
Why would any pitcher not throw every pitch to Robert low and away and watch him flail at it?- Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
If the offer truly was Outman and De Paula, I really hope it was the Dodgers that turned down the trade and not Getz. I can’t imagine the Sox getting a better return with Robert sucking at the plate, and every game he plays is just another game for him to get injured in.- 4/13 game thread vs Boston 1:10 first pitch
Perhaps Getz can DFA him to give him the opportunity to act again. - 4/13 game thread vs Boston 1:10 first pitch
