You’re right. He’d probably just top off his swimming pool with it.
-
Awesome. Thanks for sharing this news. Grady deserves a shot as a bench coach. It’s apparent he wants a career in baseball after taking that a $15-an-hour internship with the D-backs.

Getz is an expert at acquiring scraps — Maldonado, Lopez, Fletcher, Vargas, etc.
-
It is a fact that Kopech put up better stats with the Dodgers than the Sox last year. That is clear and irrefutable.
-
“Maybe he still is the same guy, but the simple fact is that the Dodgers got the best out of him. The Sox didn’t.”
-
Vargas was already terrible with the Dodgers in 434 plate appearances across three seasons. It’s not like he was a fresh and still hyped up prospect without any major league time. Getz took the scraps that the Dodgers offered him, and chose poorly as he usually does in his trades.
-
I disagree that both 43.2 IP and 33 IP are small sample sizes for a reliever but agree to disagree.
-
Getz lost you here, here, here, here, and here.
-
That’s a pretty drastic change from where Kopech was at with the Sox last season (4.74 ERA, 1.35 WHIP in 43.2 IP). If the Sox thought he could be that good for a 33 inning stretch and that they could be the team to “fix” him, they would have kept him and traded him next season rather than selling low and dumping him for peanuts. Maybe he still is the same guy, but the simple fact is that the Dodgers got the best out of him. The Sox didn’t.
-
You think Getz is adding $63+ million dollars to the 2025 payroll? Did Jerry win the lottery?
-
You have been saying that Kopech is still the same pitcher that he was with the Sox in several of your posts. Meanwhile, he put up a 1.13 ERA in 24 regular season innings and a 3 ERA in 9 postseason innings with the Dodgers. So is Kopech still the same pitcher or is it just because you misread his stats?
-
Yes, I do. Do you mind if I speak for myself? There is promising pitching in this org. There are ZERO promising position players in this org. Not one guy you can bank on being an above average player or star.
-
And you ripped Kopech because he supposedly had a 7 ERA this postseason. He actually had a 3 ERA this postseason and was good. You never acknowledged that you were wrong, so why should we still listen to and value your opinions?
-
Actually, I do. Some of the pitching, but not the position players at all.
-
Jeebus Lice man, wow are you a freaking shill! If Katz was truly confident that he had fixed Kopech, Getz wouldn’t have sold him to the Dodgers for peanuts. Thoroughly discussed in your own twisted and biased mind maybe… 🤣
-
Yeah, it sucks bad for the Sox who will likely suck.
-
“I see some promise in some of the young players here and I think we can begin to build a winning culture, and eventually a winning team.” It’s really not that hard to not blatantly lie.
-
He could say something that wasn’t so obviously untrue to any random Sox fan that watched a few games last year. I know it’s all fluff but a quote like this just remind me of Awful Grifol. You don’t have to sugarcoat everything, especially not one of the worst teams in major league history.
-
Robert, Vaughn, Vargas, Sheets, Fletcher… Hell, I could probably list the entire projected lineup… Take your pick.
-
Ahem… see Kopech. I tend to agree with the health issues you noted when it comes to Moncada, but I would not be surprised at all if he had a comeback season with a team like the Dodgers.
-
I wouldn’t mind seeing Sizemore be a bench coach.
-
You sure about that? I see a 3 ERA in this year’s playoffs. Are you accidentally looking at Kopech’s career postseason stats instead? 3 horrible postseason innings with the Sox and 9 good postseason innings with the Dodgers. What a surprise! The Sox were robbed blind in that trade no matter which way anyone wants to try to portray it. Getz is bad.
-
Are you sure you aren’t citing that incorrect article that listed Grifol as receiving TLR’s salary? That’s my guess. In any case, imagine being Venable and looking at his current roster. He could be the diamond in the rough as far as new managers go, but imagine having to win with whatever offseason of dumpster diving that Getz comes up with? Poor guy. Good luck, Will…
