Thorpe is TBD for spring training??
Technically, you were only off by a week, Nostradamus.

Off-Season Pass the Time Catch-All
The Pirates should win the auction and then give the kid everything they offered him for the card initially.

Thorpe is TBD for spring training??
The White Sox usual pitcher injury timeline… He’s fine and anticipated to be ready for the start of Spring Training… He had a setback and may be held back for the start of Spring Training… He is still having discomfort after a cortisone shot… He needs TJ surgery…

Thorpe is TBD for spring training??
That’s why they acquire 10 starters. The Sox can’t afford to do that unfortunately. Like SS2K5 mentioned, the running theme with this organization appears to be — if you don’t hear anything about a pitcher’s status, it’s probably bad news.

Thorpe is TBD for spring training??
Now it all makes sense, sadly.

Thorpe is TBD for spring training??
So it begins… And SS2K5 just called it a couple days ago.

Sox trade Marinaccio for $ considerations
- Getz: "We are... building from the ground, up"
That’s when Jerry steps in and gives Getzy the nod to sign a superstar free agent for $500+ million. 😏- Sox trade Marinaccio for $ considerations
Serviceable means helpful or useful. Scholten’s production, or lack thereof, puts him in DFA territory.- Sox trade Marinaccio for $ considerations
You didn’t label Scholtens as just “depth”. You called him “a serviceable arm”. I showed stats that would indicate that he is a substandard arm.- White Sox Top 10 Prospects (BA)
A bit ridiculous for Montgomery to be at #39 and for Quero to miss the list altogether.- Off-Season Pass the Time Catch-All
I don’t see it happening but if they sign Bregman and somehow manage to re-sign Tucker next offseason, Ricketts might actually win back some Cubs fans. But I think signing Bregman would kill any chances of the Cubs re-signing Tucker next offseason.- Sox trade Marinaccio for $ considerations
Definitely a better hitter than Tim Anderson…- Getz: "We are... building from the ground, up"
I call a spade a spade. Go look back at my posts once Crochet was traded. I gave Getz a ton of credit for a great trade. But my praise is few and far between because the majority of Getz’s moves have been poor.- Soxfest back for 2025
Apparently Getz doesn’t realize this but old, bad veterans seeking bounce-back years usually sign cheaply with crappy teams to get playing time.- Getz: "We are... building from the ground, up"
Getz could have brought back Seby’s studly ass if he wanted to. He was DFA by the Mariners twice last season and no other team claimed him. The Red Sox signed him to a minor league deal in November.- Getz: "We are... building from the ground, up"

Serviceable? As a starter in 11 starts, Scholtens put up the following numbers: 0-6 record 5.87 ERA 1.66 WHIP 53.2 IP 71 hits (10 HR) 38 strikeouts 18 walks The dude is putrid.- Sox trade Marinaccio for $ considerations
Haha, cash considerations. Jerry’s favorite. The cynical side of me says that they DFA Marinaccio over Scholtens because they knew they could get something for Marinaccio (e.g., cash). I know it’s just a minor move but I see no way that keeping Scholtens over Marinaccio makes your bullpen better. And if someone wants to argue that the Sox will need a terrible arm to throw a lot of innings as a long man in garbage time, just bring back Touki. He’s a free agent.- ST invite list, new MiLB signings
Justin Dunn — #91 prospect in MLB in 2019 for the Mariners. Injuries ruined his career.- Getz: "We are... building from the ground, up"
I remember some hype but it was backtracked on very quickly once the losses mounted up. I don’t think Getz thought they would be a playoff contender necessarily but he definitely didn’t think that they would be as bad as they were.- White Sox considering Rojas, Meidroth at SS
No, I didn’t say that. I agree with it. He probably doesn’t need to even bother doing it honestly.- Getz feels White Sox are headed in the right direction
We have the information from Dan Hayes, a Twins beat reporter, and from SoxTalk’s own insider. Your commentary on the potential trade and what could have happened doesn’t mean much of anything as I don’t believe you have any inside information on the story, so anything you say is simply conjecture. I am going by the information provided by two actual insiders and it appears that it was indeed possible to acquire Keaschall for Fedde, if cash was also included. Getz [Jerry] likely didn’t think a return of Keaschall was worth the amount of cash he would have had to kick in with Fedde, which I guess could have been anywhere between $100K to $10 million, but no amount has been stated. Instead, Getz got a worse return after including Kopech with Fedde in Vargas, Albertus, and Perez. I wouldn’t be surprised if Getz could have traded Kopech alone to the Dodgers for both Albertus and Perez, but once again like everything you are saying, that is just my own conjecture because I have no inside knowledge. You can continue to twist yourself in a knot with various “what if?” scenarios even though you have no inside knowledge of this Fedde/Keaschall trade discussion, but I choose to rely on information provided by the people in the know rather than your random conjecture in yet another attempt to be the resident Sox/Getz apologist. So there is no right or wrong. You are just throwing junk in the air with no foundation, while I am going by the information provided by two insiders.- Getz feels White Sox are headed in the right direction
Yet, here you are… responding and absolutely sure that two people with better sources than you are wrong and you are right.- Getz feels White Sox are headed in the right direction
