Yes, I must stick it to everyone that thought the Sox sucked (which they have for three seasons; this is factual), just because they are now playing around .500 baseball! As if that person had anything to do with the current success of the team. I guess some people just want to take credit for being “the greatest White Sox fan ever”, even though they have zero control over how the team performs.

Yep. It was funny because I seem to remember that we had heard about the trade rumors well before it happened and Shields went out and had some awful starts right before the trade went down. I can’t remember exactly how many starts Shield had after we all had initially heard the rumor but it was definitely enough time for Hahn to re-think the trade and not go through with it.

@Look at Ray Ray Run never called anyone (or Cali) a “chump for following a loser team”. He stated his own expectations about the team and said “you do you”, which is basically saying that people can have differing opinions and expectations of the team than him. You don’t need to put words in his mouth. We can all read his quote and see that he did not say what you responded with. Also, your entire response disproves the last sentence of your post. You obviously care.

I’ll believe once Jerry no longer owns the team. In the meantime, I will dread having to watch Getz try to deal with the Murakami situation next season.

I’m hoping the outfield improves enough with Pereira and eventually Montgomery that Antonacci can replace Meidroth at 2B as the starter. Meidroth as a bench Eckstein could make a ton of money.

I never said that I was expecting a 4-5 WAR 3B but 3+ would be nice. That should be the expectation if they want to win another WS. We’ll see where Vargas is at by the All-Star break and at the end of the season. He is prone to long slumps and spurts of hot streaks. I am not a believer. Besides, he’s going to be replaced once Roch is ready and they move Colson to 3B. My guess is that Vargas will be dealt.

They are both absolutely meh players. You don’t win anything with these guys as starters. They would be great bench players however.
