Unfortunately, it’s getting pretty obvious that the Sox are only interested in dumping salary, not taking any on. I doubt Jerry would approve the wise move you suggest that other smart teams have done before when their payroll is so low and rebuilding is the current strategy.

Getz would be a moron to accept such a trade over prospects for Robert. Let’s hope he isn’t that clueless.

Robert for Outman would be the worst trade in Getz’s career by far.

Yep, I’m just waiting for his rationale. There could be an argument to acquire Lux to flip him but I doubt it would be worth it overall considering what Getz would have to give up for him in the first place.

It’s a minor league deal. He’s likely going cost the Rays nothing. If he sucks, they’ll just cut him.
