The way Robert is hitting, the Sox would probably have to eat more than $5 million of his salary just to move him, and get nothing of value back in return.

At this point, you have to let Robert play and see if he can somehow get hot before the deadline. Looks unlikely right now and he’ll probably just get injured before the trade deadline anyways. Getz likely missed the boat in trading him. Either way, this is the last season Robert will be on the Sox. And no, Travis Jankowski shouldn’t be playing over anyone.

Otherwise, just bring back Billy Hamilton if you want a bench player that can pinch run and backup CF. Also, it was Joey Bart and Victor Robles. That’s two starting players on two other teams, except Robles just got hurt of course. But both guys, if healthy, would start for the Sox. Why shouldn’t Getz be using all possible means to rebuild the roster, including through waivers?
