When your three only good hitters are the most injury-prone players in the league, your $75 million dollar man is worse than replacement level, and your golden boy 1st round draft pick hits more like a weak middle infielder rather than a first baseman, and all you acquire during the offseason are washed-up vets that should’ve retired, it should be no surprise at what position the Sox are in so soon into the season.

Colas
Nonsense. Eloy and Moncada are two of the most injury-prone players in baseball, and Robert is quickly gaining the same reputation.

Getz and Pedro should go. Product on the field is horrible.
Fact.

Under what scenario would you consider offering Crochet and/or Kopech extensions?
There’s also the possibility that Getz will keep Crochet for his performance and cost. There’s a big difference between dealing Cease with two years of control left and Crochet this year. Cease is making $8 million this season while Crochet is making only $800K. I have no doubt that part of the reason Cease was dealt was so Reinsdorf could save $8 million in payroll this year and around $12 million next year for what Cease would sign via arbitration. Crochet is earning a paltry $800K and even if he pitches lights out for around 100 innings this seasons, he will still be very cheap next season. I’d wager that Kopech is more likely to be dealt than Crochet.

$7.5 million club option for 2025 or a $500K buyout. That one will be an easy choice.

So all of Getz’s veteran position player signings this offseason were pretty pointless. Remember the talk about how the young guys would get time to gel and prove themselves in the minors before getting rushed up this season due to the presence of Getz’s vets? Guess not. Ten games later and Sosa and Colas will already be here.

Soxtalk owes TLR an apology
Not only did Tony know the benefits of not having his guys hustle and giving them extra rest, he also understood the rejuvenating effects of a nice nap before the start of a division game. Pedro has a lot to learn.

He hit 102 in his first inning.

It’s like watching a Madrigal who can’t find the holes.

The jury has reached a verdict. Nicky is awful.

We already know what Lopez is. I don’t see much in Soroka. Shewmake and Gowens could turn into something though.

Good job, Fletcher. Sox third base coaches continue to be awful.

He looks just like Clevinger, lol.

I didn’t say anything about Bummer, fathom did. However, in Getz’s haste to fill three positions relatively cheaply in one bad trade, it hasn’t worked out. I would’ve rather had a couple younger prospects for Bummer. Getz took back the Braves’ non-tender candidates.

Well, we are likely down to Jared Shuster and Riley Gowens.

I did hear that. I also heard he sucks. Getz didn’t get the memo.

I’ll take a little leaguer up there over Little Nicky.

Gotta show the video of a Maldonado strikeout and explain it, as if it doesn’t happen in a third of his at bats. Who the F is Stone kidding?!?
-
4/9 Sox @ Guardians 5:10PM CT
Stone explaining why Maldonado, a well-known awful hitter, struck out there is absolutely hilarious.

Grifol just out-managed himself out of a run. ???

Remember how Joey Gallo was always a three outcome hitter? HR, walk, or strikeout? DeJong is a two outcome hitter. Strikeout or HR.

He’s your basic Internet tough guy. He ran his mouth about how all Sox fans were wrong about this team being horseshit, but after two straight years of putrid play, he finally wised up and kept his mouth shut on Twitter. Even he can’t defend the team anymore and he realizes it. Back to staying silent and collecting his check from Jerry without stirring the pot.
