  1. His age has something to do with that.
  2. Now that Ortiz has officially aged out of prospect status, who replaces him as the headliner in every Orioles deal?
  3. The Dodgers were smart and dealt their older infield prospect with nowhere to play for a promising 19 year old pitcher.
  4. Better than any head coach the Bears have had over the years. He wouldn’t be worse than the line of those losers.
  5. A closer isn’t a high leverage reliever?
  6. This clown is also trying to rip on Sox fans and Getz, as if we all didn’t know that Jerry gifted the job to him. The replies from Sox fans are great.
  7. It was painful to watch this loud-mouthed cross-eyed dude. I wouldn’t take the risk but he said there is no way Cease could raise his value if he pitches in 2024. I don’t think that is true. He also uses the stupid trade calculator.
  8. Yes, premium defensive positions have always been “up the middle” — catcher, SS, and CF.
  9. His reasoning isn’t poor. Our previous GM said the team needed to get more left-handed numerous times to the media, but he pretty much failed at acquiring lefty bats at both 2B and RF. Nothing has changed since and the Sox still have holes at these same two positions. Different GMs are going to value a player’s attributes differently.
  10. Orioles prospects don’t flop. They will all pan out and that is why you can’t trade any of them for Cease.
  11. Andrew Vaughn was the best college hitter in his draft class. We lucky Sox fans have learned that it doesn’t always translate to the MLB.
  12. Okay — “not going to be traded for Cease.”
  13. You are the one claiming to know who is untouchable and who isn’t. I am not making these claims, or saying that I know whom Getz would or wouldn’t accept back in a trade.
  14. That offer may be reasonable, depending on the fourth player. I just don’t know how anyone can say who is available outside of Holliday. I’m sure Elias has specific guys that aren’t a part of his plans, but none of us know who those players are.
  15. How do you know this? Do you have Elias on speed dial?
  16. The guy who asked about trading Cease for Gunnar Henderson or Adley Rutschman because he hates rebuilds? Orioles fans called him a troll immediately.
  17. The only interest I would have in Ortiz is that it would prevent us from having to watch either DeJong or Lopez play. ?
  18. https://allchgo.com/where-will-michael-busch-fit-on-the-2024-cubs/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=where-will-michael-busch-fit-on-the-2024-cubs
  19. Benintendi is barely an MLB caliber player. If a team was willing to send one dollar to the Sox as “cash considerations” for Benintendi, they would make that trade in a second. No team would make that deal.
  20. He’s a waste of any amount of money.
  21. So you want to continue to hope that something “clicks” with Fields in his fourth season? He is 10-28 as the Bears starter. He doesn’t have it. You think another receiver is going to make him pan out? What happened to Mooney this year? Fields can’t read defenses or make secondary or third reads or throws. He’s too slow and he either has to roll out of the pocket or gets sacked before he gets the ball off. It’s pretty obvious that he’s basically throwing to the planned/primary open receiver on most passing plays, which are focused on either Moore or Kmet. If Moore wasn’t such a stud YAC receiver, Fields’ passing stats would be worse.
  22. I say no. You are basically trying to luck into the best QB in the draft at #13 overall. Good luck with that. Yes, I know Mahomes, but even he was the 10th overall pick and I wouldn’t put my money on that happening again. Fields is not the guy. Ask yourself this. Would the Texans give up Stroud for any crazy offer you can think up right now, including this one? They wouldn’t.
  23. https://nypost.com/2024/01/11/sports/marlins-might-be-willing-to-entertain-luis-arraez-offers/
  24. You can’t pass on a stud QB for the second time, if you think Williams could be as good as or better than Stroud. A huge haul of picks doesn’t even compare to a franchise changing QB like Stroud.
  25. Wrong. You take the franchise changing QB every time. None of those guys individually or combined can compare with a stud franchise QB for 10+ years. Offer that package of players and picks to the Texans for Stroud and see what they say. In today’s NFL, if you don’t have the stud QB, you don’t have anything.
