  1. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 11:45 PM) Actually, Reddick is a tick better against lefties but I get your point. Nevertheless, I'd still take Reddick's bat and glove. Tyson Ross would push Danks out of the rotation for the rest of the year. Sale, Q, Samardzija, Rodon and Ross gives the Sox a hell of a starting rotation for a playoff push. Ross also makes it easier for the Sox to walk away from Samardzija when Samardzija hits FA. It would be a very smart move by the Sox to do it now. i agree and think it is very doable. i wonder what the pkg will look like to get them.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 11:02 PM) Christopher Kamka ‏@ckamka 19m19 minutes ago How crazy has #WhiteSox 7-game win streak been? alot of great info..... many thanks for the updates.

  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 08:39 PM) Reminds me of 2003 where we finally put away the royals with a 4 game sweep in august. I think we may do same to Twins, but I still can't believe we can make playoffs. i am being very serious about this. i like the old memories ..... real nice.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 08:04 PM) JR absolutely is a "hands-on" owner. I've been told by my sources that more than once, for example, he has "suggested" whom the Sox should pick in the June draft. Which puts his scouting / development folks in an awkward situation. How many times would you feel comfortable going against the wishes of your boss? Mark problem is, i have on many occasion. but them again i used to worked for the gov and there is a reek of stupidity that comes the upper management dpt.
  6. QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 08:20 PM) LOL you were just waiting for something to blow up on. well you are prob right. every since ir was said that the sox were going to it. bastards..... can't they see the trees..... errr.....
  7. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 07:16 PM) Since its all speculation, who would you peg as in Camp Buy or Camp Sell? Speculating on that possibility I would bet that Hahn sees this an offensive outburst, an anomaly in the season and would lean toward selling. KW would be all in, on the other hand. yeah and the sox are siding with kw
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 07:16 PM) The only one confused is Padilla. He has nothing to throw out there in terms of info, so naturally, the conclusion is the White Sox don't know whether to buy or sell. you may be right.... oh well i needed to rant a little.
  9. QUOTE (Sockin @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 07:09 PM) White Sox Remain Confused on Whether to Buy or Sell http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/white-sox/...-a-bit-confused what a bunch of fucccking idiots..... i would imagine someone in the FO should know it is too fuccking late to do anything now. most of the teams who could have give a nice pkg of prospects has filled up their cubbard. what a screw up ....
  10. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 06:53 PM) Probably just going to stand pat to drive us nuts THOSE BASTARDS.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 06:30 PM) Like I said before, the Dodgers hired two of the smartest front office minds and gave them all the money in the world, instead of the pennies they had in Tampa and Oakland. Be afraid National League. umm i would have responded to ChiSox59 post, but i have a problem talking about other men ahh testicles. but the dodgers in this era, reminds me of the yanks of the 80's and 90's.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 06:38 PM) That may be more common than people think. Such things as poor defense, scouting, minor league instruction, tells me Kenny and J.R. are still in control. ahhhh. ref to Jr.... umm he is one of the owners so yeah. for humor purpose only.
  13. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 04:37 PM) I know there is a lot of season left that could mess this up, but Quintana started game 99 last night and Sale is starting game 100 tonight so that would put them on pace to start games 159 and 160 which would give mean either Quintana starts the WC game on 4 days rest or Sale starts on 3 days rest. nice work..... great job.
  14. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 05:18 PM) 1983 second half where the Sox were darn near unbeatable and the rest of the division needed binoculars to see the Sox taillights up ahead that was pretty funny.... sad thing is i remember the series, oh man i thought the sox was going to win it all
  15. but the rumors before we got AJ was all bad, but when he was on the team, he was good.... so why not the same with Gomez???
  16. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 04:22 PM) Another SP wouldn't hurt, but why? EJ could likely give you what Leake or Kennedy could (or slightly less, but at the league minimum and giving up no assets to get him). A bat is what this team needs. I am also fine leaving the bullpen as is. but EJ is still an uncertainty while the others have a est mlb stat. imo
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 04:21 PM) Gomez would be a great get (as long as we didn't think his hip was a issue). Huge upgrade. I think the Brewers might find themselves pinned back, but I'd start with Johnson and Avi. I highly doubt they'd be interested, but that would be where I started and then I am sure the Brewers would work their way up from their to ask for Montas. I'd rather trade Avi then Micah. I am insane cause Micah doesn't have a great glove, I just think Micah is going to be electric offensively. The type of pest you see other teams have and get frustrated with that we wish we had. That said, the above package is far worse then the one that the Mets offered. i am not good in these mock trades. but i like the idea of hawkins, beck and Ynoa for Gomez and Pena

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 02:43 PM) I see 4 Home runs. Lots of Ks, but he walks too many. Looks promising, though. Incontinent? Freudian slip, lol? He's better than Carroll if he could be more consistent. Cooper likes him. ooops my bad.... but eyes this morning.
  19. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 02:47 PM) And "bet my house" is a common phrase.... you got me. haha nice one now for my smartarse in me will say where is the green.
  20. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 03:40 PM) If that is all it costs? C'mon now. You're not giving enough credit to one of the best 15 SP in the game, and way too much credit to a meathead clown with presently terrible numbers, who will be a FA two years before Quintana who would likely be one of the best 5 SP in the NL at a cheap cost. All that said, I don't think LA needs more SP at this point, so the Q for Puig trade makes less sense than ever. you made your point. i agree. now in one of my other posts is, i wanted the dodgers to add another prospects. so in essence, i am in agreement with you... however, the sox fo may think differently, which we as fans do not privy to.
  21. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 03:42 PM) Ok, well I have explained to you why it is multiple times, so agree to disagree. But I'd bet my house the Sox wouldn't make this trade. It would be a very short sighted move. this is a what if conversation.... it is not real.
  22. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 03:37 PM) I agree, it's crazy to me how many people are down and willing to throw Avi away. The dude is 24 years old, and even with stinking it up for. Month is still batting .260. No idea why we would give up on someone with his talent at that age. I guess it's normal round here though we are always tough on players but giving up Avi now is a major mistake. question, giving up Avi for whom???

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 03:09 PM) What? He got a haul. Basically they got the Rangers top 3 prospects, all rated in the top 100 (So think Anderson, Montas, and Fulmer) plus a major league pitcher, plus two more high end lottery tickets. The Sox won't get a better return for Samardjiza in a trade for two big reasons. #1, Samardjiza isn't as good as Hamels. #2 Hamels is signed for 4 years, Jeff is about to be a free agent. also the sox are now going for it. no matter what, it is too late to chg minds now.
  24. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 03:33 PM) I have no idea to be honest. I would imagine the cost won't be cheap. now wight what might that cost vs not making the playoff. that should be the formula. sheesh.
  25. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 03:24 PM) Pretty funny coming from the guy pushing Carlos Gonzalez, and Quintana for Puig. I like all the above options, but Carlos Gomez is probably the best overall player of any of them, and he's signed to a very team friendly deal. I think I like Carlos Gonzalez move the best, just because it will cost the least in terms of prospects, and I am not the one paying the check (altho, I do realize it may hamstring us in other areas). The Quintana for Puig idea is asinine. i really don't know about that. the upside is what i am really looking at. the upside with additional fans, the upside with media attention the upside with the offensive numbers. all this Q can't provide and hasn't provided. as i said, i can see the reason. and on any given moment, i and flopping on. i will still asked for a prospect from the dodgers as well. ok, so i am sometime delusional.
