QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 03:55 PM) Even the Trib is starting to report some smoke behind Gar / Pax and some seperation between the two. While KC eventually reported he expects nothing to change, given that you are even seeing reports like that coming from the Trib tells me that there is a real posibility (should be a real conclusion) that Gar will be out. The messaging essentially says, look, Gar won out and convinced people, but Pax hasn't lost it, look at what he thought should have happened. this comment is soooo freaking damning. by default, both of these guys should be fired. undermining the coach, undermining the team. how can the owners allow this to happen..... talking about incompetence.... try incompetence of the owners... geeze to ballclubs run by a dysfunctional group of owners. how have they manage to make money..

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 02:58 PM) Again it's Cowley so take it with a grain of salt, but he mentions again the undermining of Thibs saying there are several sources including players saying it's true, as the beginning of the Bulls falling apart. Says Gar/Pax blamed the injuries on Thibs minutes. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/indiana...e-gets-started/ thanks for this. my problem with crowley and this article, most of the fans suspected this already. \ isn't this a form of beating a dead horse????

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 12:03 AM) Finest Hours was so melodramatic and you could barely see the action. All Chris Pine did was stand behind the wheel of the boat. was it a great movie, no, but it was entertaining. i agree with your pov however if you look at all the movies with those parameters of judging, people can really tear apart every movie. i guess i like the spirit of the movie as i read the story, behind the movie. just my opinion.

i just saw the movie "the finest hours" and boy, did i really underestimated the movie. i also read up on it... it was really close to the movie SS Pendleton https://rfrump.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/...f_ship_2_sm.jpg

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 02:18 PM) KC Johnsons article today suggests Gar or Px or Hoiberg getting waxed probably isn't going to happen. They now believe they kept the roster, the championship roster, intact one year too long. KC thinks the change will be Randy Brown going back into the front office, he says the players think he's Gar's spy. He also suggests a younger roster next year. that comment, a spy... is the most silliest thing i have always heard. this is a sport team and there are spies, this is not like the cold war or lives and death are at risk. well i am glad about the roster getting younger, but i would really love gar to go packing. DA, thanks for updating this.

QUOTE (gosoxgo2005 @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 01:12 PM) If the sox are contending for a playoff spot at the end of the year, Jackson is hitting 9th and with your pov, i will not dispute the logic. but between now and the end of the yr, the sox will go thru some changes. nothing is written in stone.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 05:12 AM) At the very least, can we agree that Jackson should be moved up/Rollins should be moved down? why ???? it is only 1 wk into the season. it is like me who wants another quality sp.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 12:45 PM) Just the whole "pick on Greg" narrotive gets tiresome on this board. He does say alot of crap that makes you shake your head, but he is a good poster and fan of the sox. actually you do not know my intentions and therefore, you are wrong. fyi, and i think greg will vouch, i been a supporter of greg for many times. i just didn't understand what his ref was ..... anywho, everyone at one time or another will say or post things that doesn't make sense, esp me.... ref to your post, making a big deal out of nothing.

QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 04:37 AM) This isn't a video game, you have to consider the psychological factor it has on players playing just every other day. It doesn't give the incumbent and his replacement any chance to develop any type of rhythm at the plate or on the field. If a player has a bad game, he couldn't get back out there to correct his mistakes. If he had a good game, he certainly cools off with not being able to continue to his success immediately. That's why you rarely see it being implemented in the major league. Let Rollins play out there for a few more weeks. When he proves he couldn't handle a full time role. Move him back to the bench and let him play a game or two at SS a week, pinch hit, and maybe DH for a game as well. ref the bold, this is the key to the post. a player needs at bats... repeated at bats to either get it going and to figure it out. esp in the northern cities.... the cold weather take out a lot in players. that momentum that was build during sprint training.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 10:38 AM) How the hell was that a personal attack? why does it matter, the person it was intended to, answered and it is a dead issue.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 04:27 AM) Cause he's not going to hit for average, IMO. If he's good field, no hit, put him ninth in the order. I like the one game Melky was second cause Melky usually makes contact and his .270 batting average last year suggests he'll find holes on a relatively consistent basis. He's got no power anymore. I'd go with Melky second. well, it is really early in the season... lets see what happen and the results come mid may.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 01:07 AM) Avi postgame: "everyone is playing like a family; everyone is happy". but eaton was not there.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 10:59 PM) 1 Eaton 2 Abreu 3 Frazier That's what it should be. Get your three best hitters hitting 1-3. last yr, i can see JA batting 2nd. but this yr, no way. i can see him batting #3 or even #4 .... maybe #4 is not an option. ref to the batting order, the player batting #2, this yr the sox really have options that can help at #2. ajax, rollins, melky - if needed, hell lawrie if really needed.

Who's your favorite prospect not named Fulmer or Anderson?

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 12:49 AM) Eddy Alvarez and Blake Hickman. Hickman hasn't been able to go yet, but man do I love his attitude. anything specific to share??? -
QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 11:23 PM) Shaw has 14 goals and 20 assists this year. He plays his ass off but he's not going to be worth the 4+/year Toronto will give him. Aside from the Panarin bonus, the Kruger deal hurts a lot more. He's a great PK'er, but 3+ a year for him? Yikes. You could say the same about Dallas' defense (and goaltending) i too like kruger as a player and i am happy he resigned with the hawks. but his contract at close to 3.1 mil??? i don't know, maybe 2.5 mil would have been more along with i am thinking. however he did help out the hawks this yr, via the salary.....
-
QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 09:10 PM) Beautiful. Hopefully he can find some kind of consistency. not bad, he even adjusted the swing in mid swing. i like that he followed the ball and kept his head in perfect position, right over the right shoulder after the swing. i like it.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 09:04 PM) Play him all you want, but bat Rollins ninth. That is all. and with out a full explanation. this sounds as a personal attack.
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 08:59 PM) I like Jackson as a player but his bat is going to cool down soon enough. I have no idea what to do with the 2 hole but I'm not moving Eaton out of the 1 spot. exactly the reason of playing the hot hand. as of right now, the team is going soooo good, why chg. the chg today was a necessary move, failing that, i can see and keep talking up, the leadoff hitter is essential, one who gets on base is needed b/c he sets up the whole team for that game. the logical choice is to find an equally potent bat at #2 before the heart of the sox lineup can reap the hard work.

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 06:37 PM) no problem. Believe he is the guy who pitched in tandem with Fulmer last season at Winston Salem. He's only given up one home run in 139 pro innings. Worth a look. also there was a little snippet that mention the sox had thought he can be a #4 / 5 type of sp and / or, if needed a long rp. alot of options with him. i really wish i saw his profiles of what kind of pitches he throw. another player to get excited about. -
QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 05:58 PM) we're doomed Bulls' free agent focus seems to be shifting to Joakim Noah over Pau Gasol http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baske...0408-story.html General manager Gar Forman, who won the internal debate to keep Gasol well, i like the move in more ways than one. but the main thing, noah believes in the bulls and will do what is needed. i like the fact that pau played thru with swollen knees , that too show commitment to the bulls, but i trust noah a little more. now, gar was mentioned, i don't know, but he was mention alot. does this mean he is still here next season????
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 05:27 PM) Holberg played a Dumb & Dumber clip to the team this morning. The clip of "you mean there's still a chance" and he expects this to work??? this is the kind of thing a hs coach will do, a college coach will do..... this sounds like a lame thing to do.

QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 01:34 AM) What a shame, hope he recovers ref kolek, that was the pitcher i really thought that the sox would chose. never thinking that rodon would be there. i too really hope he recovers.

nice recap and many thanks for it. as a few mention, it is still early in the season.
