  1. It doesn't affect me, until someone asks how they're doing. Then I quickly change the subject. Sadly, I have even more irritating stuff going on in my life than the Sox's current suckfest, so I guess that helps? And I mean, it's only a game.
  2. So I started the White Sox club on Facebook at my school (mostly to be funny), except now there's 2 members (including me) because some kid wanted to join today. Weird. Sadly, no one has petitioned to join my other group: Courtney and Eleni are the best grad students ever. That one also has 2 members. . .
  3. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) "Silly Love Songs" is a great pop tune! I also have to go along with "My Love" and "With A Little Luck". Heck, there was a ton of great stuff out of Wings. "Band On The Run" for instance. Bah, I love that stuff man! Nobody in music history could hold a candle to the Paul's yell also. That man's voice is pure gold, both when wanting to sound "sweet and gentle" and then when he wants to yell up a storm. Paul is a God amongst men, and when he is gone, the music world will stop dead in it's tracks and realize that there is nobody even close to that man on this planet. here here
  4. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 08:15 PM) Ain't gonna happen. The Sox are going to have a great series in Minny and come home Monday on a high note. We owe them a sweep. Cleveland's going to take the lowly Royals for granted and lose 2 of 3. And then we're going to procede to beat the everlovings*** out of Cleveland and reassert our dominance in the division and in the league. You think I'm full of s***, but take a look at how well the Sox are swinging the bats. Crede's hitting, Uribe's hitting, even Carl seems to be coming around. Dye's hitting, Pods is hitting and Iguchi is f'n clutch. We all know what Pauly's doing but because he can't handle pressure he'll be dropped back to clean up this weekend. Even AJ has shown some life at the plate. The pitching has stumbled but will be picked up by the hitting. I like this kid.
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 08:08 PM) This thread makes me feel violently ill. Take out the "ly il"l and that's how I feel.
  6. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) Leon Phelps? Uh, medically speakin' how dinky is your wang?
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) I also know this guy.... {shudder} Whatev, we all know you *love* him.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 06:25 PM) I know this guy... Show off.
  9. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 05:43 PM) and no matter how this ends you're gonna be back for more next year. Sucker! Yeah, color me masochistic have I told you my other hobbies include, stabbing myself in the eye, stubbing my toes, and watching ABC's Saturday night line-up?
  10. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 05:37 PM) Right on, b****! Great post, I'm with you all the way. Besides, I've yet to feel the low that I felt in 1983 watching Landrum's home run clear the fence. I've got a ways to go yet. The way I figure, I lived with Twins' fans during the collapse of '03. At least in New York no one cares about those "flyover teams" and I can grieve without being mocked constantly.
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 05:31 PM) Yeah, this year the Twins have 6 playoff games, and they are the 6 games remaining against the Sox, I'm sure they will play and handle them like playoff games... You mean fold like a deck of cards to the Yankees? That'd be sweet.
  12. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 05:18 PM) So reccomend a 16 year old boy kill himself? Great thinking. You're one helluva person. Um, it's the national suicide prevention line. If you had checked.
  13. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 05:16 PM) I was not posting to you. Eh, I figured maybe someone else could talk these people off the ledge.
  14. 1-800-SUICIDE Just trying to help.
  15. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) The sky is falling. Jesus, open your eyes. They're open, but last time I read: this was a game thread. For people to follow the game, like those of us without radio or tv or that live out of town. So, people can cry in other threads, leave this one to discussing what's happening the the game without continual editoralizing.
  16. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 05:03 PM) Can someone actaully post whats going on instead of 'O no.." No, didn't you get the memo? The sky is falling! Why pay attention to the game when we can b****, b****, b**** about it.
  17. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) Good to see you all are still drinking the kool-aid. I really hope the Sox make me eat some major crow, but for now f*** them. I usually stay out of this, but you know, stop, just stop, okay? Am I drinking the kool-aid? No. I'm cheering and watching my team play a sport that always brings me joy. Do I want them to choke and lose at the end of the season? No. But I'm going to root for them and believe that they can make the playoffs and that something good will happen until they are mathmatically eliminated or lose a playoff series. It's not about kool-aid or being blind, it's about honestly loving this team and this game and not throwing in the towel when things go badly. And for the record, if you get this upset about something that happens on a website with people you don't know, you might have a problem. Oh, and I'm well aware that I'm a b****, so you don't need to tell me.
  18. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) Yea.. that's a better one. TY Soxy.. Yeah, Frank gets a lot of man love around here, but I figured that might not be the point greasy wants to emphasize. . .
  19. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) Loving - as in father - although I don't know how, or if, you'd work that in there. doting father, might be a good phrase to work in
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) Are you my clone. Oh my lord have mercy if he is.

    QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 04:01 AM) Capote~ see it. Soxy will enjoy it, phillip seymour hoffman is in it and has capote down perfectly from everything i have read. People are going as far as saying he is a shoe in for winning the best actor this year. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0379725/ Hush you. And actually I'm looking forward to it. I love Capote and it looks to be a very intelligent film.
  22. QUOTE(Rich McKinney @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 01:59 PM) I actually don't understand....Did the Sox really play that badly in the final week? that year the yanks went on to win it all.
